Jack and Sally 3/11/14

Her words held such beauty, as they effortlessly intertwined with mine. I could have stared into her blue eyes for forever. My thoughts were interrupted by her lips, they fit perfectly against mine. Her laugh moved like ocean waves, and her smile as radiant as the sunset. I could never tell what she was thinking, but there’s something beautiful about a mystery. Her heart was a fragile door—she piled boxes in front of to keep the sorrow out.

She 2/26/14

She watches as the clouds gracefully metastasize into creations solely for her. She plucks a daisy and gently fastens it into her hair. She is waiting for a sign to bring peace to her divergent mind.

She closes her eyes and opens her mind to what was previously hidden away. Imagination cascades into what was once “reality”. A silhouette of a man appears in the distance. His presence floods her mind with nostalgia.

She slowly gets up and begins to walk in the mans direction. As she nears closer to the man she still can not decipher who he is. She is footsteps away from the man now, her child-like curiosity pulls her closer.

Lightning strikes in the reality she has just escaped from. Her dream-like surroundings go in and out of focus. She quickly grabs ahold of the mans hand and begins to turn him around. The man dissolves along with the rest of the beautiful world she had created as she opens her eyes.

She knows the answer is within her, the only obstacle she faces is knowing where to look…

I have felt guilty about my lack of empathy, ambition, enthusiasm and hope for far too long.

Maybe I’m just too much of a sensitive narcissistic baby, that knows nothing more than to feel bad for myself.

The people around me don’t understand, I’m an outsider to all my peers, I envy their “normal” lives, as they respond “get over it”.

My depression burrows within the depths of my of my emotional balance, I don’t deserve the life I have, with this being said, I will depart you all soon.

The Window's Edge 2/16/14

Two birds sit on a window’s edge Just flown back from parts unknown They reminisce of the mountain’s ledge And how the ocean wind had blown.

Where the harsh winter breeze— Had melted to warm summer sky They spoke of the ever changing autumn trees And how spring had altered winter’s demise.

I admire the two birds as they sit there and talk The concept of freedom is foreign to me For I am a caged bird, I am only to listen and gawk I long for the day I am finally free.

I will discover the land as was foretold The world is my canvas, my imagination the brush The cage will be empty, my soul no longer controlled I am finally free, the world is abundant and lush.

Window Pane 2/10/14

I stare into the world outside. Rain trickles down onto the window and provides an almost hypnotic scenery between the sound and view. My mind and body travel to a peaceful place of comfort and relaxation. My thoughts slip into the clouds . The landscape is scattered in a series of trees. They whistle as the spring storm rustles their seasoned limbs. As to my amazement I see a birds nest in the crevasse of a tree where a family of robins wait out the storm. I envy their opportunity to come and go as they please. Behind this window pane I am trapped. My thoughts waste away, creative ideas dissolve to boredom and fear. Fear I will never be free. Fear that I will never be able to indulge myself into the heavenly sanctuary I see outside. Outside the window pane..

Alone in My Mind 2/10/14

I sit in a dark room; a sanctuary where creative thoughts pour freely out of my lonesome mind.

I think of those close to me. I admire their ignorance to all that is tragic around them, and how enlightened they seem to be with their simple lives.

"Where did I go wrong?" "What am I not seeing?" I ask myself. I feel as if I’m the only one with my eyes open in this bare and corrupt world.

I am stuck in an abstract and dark solitary confinement. Where thoughts brew and mold into my own ideas. It is at this moment I realize how isolated we all are. We are all alone in our own minds…
