Pulled from various places, to get a better idea of the kinds of things each class/aspect combo could do. 8]
(Also, a note...if you've seen the garb they get at God Tier, it's common practice to not include the...'codpiece' of the Bard outfit. It's also been implied in the comic that God Tier players can change the look of their outfits with enough practice, somehow.)
Bard of Space:
So how would a bard of space work exactly? Well if you took a bard of space to an interpretation competition it might just win first place. So ill just give my general thoughts on how one might work. My thoughts are that a bard of space could in theory, just destroy matter around them, leaving black space. Since bards are a passive, i imagine it would just sort of happen when it would be convenient for said bard. Now on the other hand, a bard of space could very indirectly fuck with other players. making things just straight up disappear on them without them even knowing it.
On the other hand, gamzee can go into a sort of fit of rage, or a like, super mode, i guess we could call it, where he’s just come crazy raged out mother fuck. I’m thinking this is another trait of the bard class: that they can go super sayian in a sense, and get crazy with their aspect. So maybe a bard of space could just fucking lose it and start dematerializing players and things at their will, though let’s hope it wouldnt have to get to that point.
As the Bard of Space, you’re a destructive class. You use material objects and the fabric of space itself to destroy, and invite in destruction of almost anything with space. This makes you quite the wild card.
Bard of Mind:
Bards are a passive destroyer class, destroying things indirectly or allowing them to be destroyed. Mind is about logic, action, decisions and consequences. This player would act like a Heart player on the surface, preaching to be yourself, all the while playing mind games that never come to an end, driving the opponent to make decisions, and the consequences would be deadly.
the bard of mind would invite destruction through their decisions, or even other people’s! they would kind of be the bad influence (don’t do drugs, kids!), whispering bad ideas into everyone’s ears to do something wrong to screw up and cause a lot of destruction and death.
The bard of mind is one of the bard classes that are less likely to cause trouble with their team mates. In fact, the bard of mind cones close to filling a blood role.
they bard of mind invites destruction through intelligence and decisions. They perform devesatating abilities much in the way of fray motifs by teaming up with allies. They encourage expert decisions, tactical soundness and taing combat opportunities. They can turn a rag tag group of rookies into an expert SAS squad ith their knowledge and abilities. The more players that join in their group attacks can result in devastating combos.
The bard can also invoke friendly fire by clouding the decisions of foes, causing them to attack each other.
The bard is a powerful class when grouped up with allies, but alone their abilities are somewhat lackluster.
Thief of Life:
Can steal life and energy, prolonging her life and healing her wounds. Really good Tank class honestly since she could work really well in a long fight, just healing herself from the enemy and weakening them as she or he goes.
Symbolically may end up being responsible for the death(s) of someone/people in the session. May or may not be bothered by this, have the death(s) hanging over their head and bothering them. Or Hell may end up being the one that takes the life of the big bad.
A Thief of Life would steal lifeforce/lifespan for their own benefit. Now our canon Thief of Life, Meenah Peixes, perfectly fulfilled her assigned role. Her secret plot to EXPLODE her entire session pre-scratch to send them all to a dreambubble instead of getting erased entirely involved stealing the lives of her entire team so that Meenah would continue to exist. However, a Thief of Life may also be able to transfer the life force of other living beings to another vessel, but only if it is to benefit the Thief themselves. That doesn’t strictly mean stealing the life force and inputting it in themselves; they can also place the life force inside another. But in the end, it must benefit the Thief in order for them to do so.
The Thief class steals their aspect from others for their own benefit, while the Life aspect deals with, well, Life, in the form of both life force and flora. Taking these two fact, the Thief of Life would steal life force from their enemies, either outright killing them or just severely weakening them, healing themselves in the process. In terms of the team, you tend to work on your own, working through enemies quickly while making yourself stronger.
Thief of Rage:
Ironically, Thieves are the more straightforward heroes of Sburb. They take from others what they want for themselves and tend towards manipulation, whether it be malicious in nature or not.
Rage as an aspect does not equate exactly to anger, but more to specifically directed fury. As such, I think a Thief of Rage would steal another person’s righteous fury and determination to further fuel their own. The person they stole from would likely lose their conviction, determination, and dogmatism, while the Thief would gain.
This is a double-sided blade, because while a Thief of Rage would take away a person’s motivation and fuel their own, they would also remove some single-mindedness from their victim and take it for themselves, potentially leading to blinding themselves to anything not to do with their own point of view and agenda and opening up the eyes of the victim to their surroundings.
It would be like stealing the wind out of the sails of an enemy ship for your own, provided that the wind only ever blew in one direction.
the thief of rage doesn’t make sense at first! if you steal an enemy’s rage, isn’t that a good thing? however!! the thief of rage would instead steal an enemy’s passion, making them dull and apathetic to whatever cause they’re fighting for, rendering them useless in battle and an easy victory!
A Thief of Rage would steal the determination from their foes, and probably even their allies. If someone is bent on a single idea, they could enforce their viewpoints upon them, forcing them to accept other ideas while they ignore theirs. Eventually, a powerful enough Thief could render everyone unable to decide what to do without her, leaving her in complete control and in possession of all the determination and focus. Or, she could take the Rage and hate from someone who’s gone mad, allowing them or forcing them to reconsider a bad idea. They would eventually know exactly what she was doing, and control everyone else’s ideas to the contrary.
