Mile 36,976 Finis
It’s been a long time coming, this trip across the bridge…
Mile 36,964
The Golden Gate, at last.
Capturing an image such as this is what conjured up this whole adventure in the first place…
That’s me in the far right lane on my 45 year old motorcycle passing the 45 MPH sign.
Almost there... It was a short 50 miles up highway one under leaden skies. Between showers, the route persisted through the coastal towns of Pescadaro, Lobitos, Half Moon Bay, and Pacifica before giving way to the damp grit of San Fransisco. While the route and the means weren't always clear, the terminus of this crazy adventure has always steadfastly been SF. The motivation was to cross the Golden Gate and bring this motorcycle to where it was meant to be.

An iconic landmark (made famous as the logo for the Scripps Broadcasting Company) in the long light of a setting sun
As it happens, the location also features a hostel with vacancies, so, for wont of anywhere else to stay on an unplanned journey, I decided to stay here.

The aptly named Ocean View Boulevard Perkins Park, Pacific Grove, California
After having been turned away by security at the Pebble Beach entrance to the iconic 17 Mile Road (it seems as if the denizens of that lovely community only recognize the automobile as acceptable transportation in their neighborhood), I rode through town and enjoyed the peninsular views along Ocean View Boulevard instead.
