1. According to the Pope Paul VI, why is it important to work for social justice in order to promote peace in society?
Pope Paul VI once said, "If you want peace, work for justice." While true peace can only be attained eschatologically, every society should still aim for the objectives of right relationships, harmony within and among societies, and a full life. If leading a happy, fulfilling life is a prerequisite for living in peace, then peacebuilding efforts must focus on enhancing living circumstances.Fairness and equity are promoted through social justice in numerous aspects of society. It encourages equal opportunities in the workplace, in education, and in the economy, for instance. It is also crucial for people's personal and communal safety and security.
2. What are the contemporary challenges that we face today and how through this article should you act to promote justice and prace?
We live in a society where issues like poverty, racism, pollution, and violence are commonplace. Social issues have a negative impact on our society. Most significantly, it shatters social cohesion and breeds mistrust and antagonism. In addition, it causes widespread social unrest, pain, and suffering. It defines social justice as "promoting a just society by challenging injustice and valuing diversity." It is present when "all people share a common humanity and therefore have a right to equitable treatment, support for their human rights, and a fair allocation of community resources." Promoting social justice is important because it helps combat societal inequities and address the underlying factors that contribute to issues like suicide. Promoting social justice is important to address inequality and oppression and empower individuals to challenge and change oppressive systems.
