KakaIru Exchange 2019 (KakaIru Fest Summer Round)

We’re excited to announce the KakaIru Exchange 2019!

This exchange is in collaboration with the event that Nath TE originally organised on LiveJournal and Tumblr. If you’ve already signed up for Nath’s exchange, please check your email regarding the change of dates and format, and fill out the form if you haven’t yet.

Timeline:

Sign-ups: Now ~ April 22nd Assignments sent: April 28th Deadline for works to be posted to the AO3 collection: July 1st Works revealed: July 15th ~ July 31st

General Guidelines:

- You’ll need an AO3 account. If you do not have one and still want to participate, please contact us. - Both writers and artists are welcome! - Minimum word count: 1,000 words - Minimum art guidelines: 72 dpi, size roughly equivalent to 800px by 600px - All works must be endgame KakaIru. - Please tell us ASAP if you need to drop out for any reason. - Works will be crossposted to Tumblr, Twitter, and LJ.

Sign-ups & Procedures:

- Fill out the google form. You must include at least THREE prompts. - We will invite you to the AO3 collection.  - You will be matched based on your responses to the google form. - We will email you your assignment. Please reply to the email to confirm you have received it. - If you have any questions or concerns about your assignment, please email the mods ASAP. - You will be posting your own work to AO3. Please make sure you post the work to the collection by the deadline. (There is a Post to Collection button on the collection’s dashboard and profile page.) - Please tag your work KakaIruExchange2019 on AO3 and use it as a hashtag when posting about the exchange on social media sites. - Works will remain hidden until we reveal them in July. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Since assignments won’t be sent out until after the deadline for Iruka’s Birthday Celebration, it should hopefully give everyone time to do both. We’d love for many people to participate and are looking forward to seeing what you create!

Hi! Please excuse me for asking this. It may be insensitive to ask this. But how is the splitting profit from the zine for the contributors coming along?

No problem if you were a contributor you know from my emails that the shipping costs ended up being higher than I guessed so I ended up paying out of pocket and there was no profit! 

I still have it for sell digitally but haven’t sold any so I don’t know if there ever will be a profit to split. All the contributors did get a free copy (that I paid and shipped for myself) though! 

I’ll probably end up taking the pdfs down soon, this was a fun project and I learned a lot running a zine!  So if you’re interested in getting one but haven’t done it yet I would definitely do so sooner than later! 

There are no more physical copies for sell though <3

would you consider making another zine with a different theme or something but still kakairu?? this is an absolutely gorgeous zine and i would love more!!

Totally! Just not as close to the holiday season again haha but I would def be up for it, next time I might try and recruit some help so I’m not doing it solo haha

Update!

All packages have been sent out!! All the packages that were returned by the USPS and any that were returned because of address issues! I’ve sent out emails with new tracking #s so if anyone has any questions please email [email protected] <3   (if you’re a contributor and haven’t give me your address ...you have until New Years!)

This has been a great learning experience but a fun project overall. Thank you everyone for your patience in waiting for packages! And I love the messages we’ve been getting for everyone who’s gotten their’s!! \o/ 

Also I wanted to say that I’ll be keeping this blog going but just more KakaIru posting so if anyone has KakaIru projects or just fun things they would want me to reblog just send me a link!! <3 and maybe we’ll have another zine in the future!

This is my full piece for @kakairuzine from a few months back. I did it in the style of Humans Of New York! I got my copy, which looks amaZING, all the comics and written pieces and illustrations and charms are so perfect I was so happy to be a part of it! bye I love naruto
