aporia
(adjective) An untranslatable, Greek word, derivative from a-poros,âno way through,â this term refers to the feeling you get in almost any situation where you are at a loss, unable to work through a problem, cross a place, or reach a person. Indeed, this rather despairing state of mind has been described in its extreme form as âbeing radically at a loss before the world we inhabit.â Anyone trying to drive through an unfamiliar city will have this feeling. (via wordsnquotes)

WHAT IS IT WITH PEOPLE AND NOISE!?!Â
Being loud just for the sake of being loud is not cool. Not cool at all. Â
âWould be fun if you let me take over.â He stated. âBut I understand that not being a wanted option, Iâm not sure if Iâd do well cutting your hair.â Much less with a blade rather than scissors. But hey- at least heâd somewhat help- No? Or maybe in a moment of luck heâd actually manage to cut it the way she liked it.
âCome onâŠâ He said afterwards. âLet me help you a little.â It would serve as a learning experience after all! He could⊠Hold her hair up! Or⊠A mirror! Or something⊠He really did not how he would be able to help her, but⊠Hey! At least he could try and do something. All for the sake of being a bit closer to her, he didnât really want to tell her âI am feeling very clingy right nowâ.
âPlease?â
"Not sure is too risky for me, as I said before ~â As though entirely not comprehending the motivation behind his suggestion she continued to twirl the blade around her fingers like it was an old pencil for several more moments before actually setting the blade back into the palm of her hand, decidedly keeping it out of Beratâs reach.Â
Well, unless he made a grab for it, but she doubted he was really that desperate to cut her hair. Symptom preluded cause, after all. And unlike other times she wasnât feeling so generous right at this moment, poor demon. Well, not enough to give him the dull knife at least. But to play around? Sure thing.Â
...Maybe afterwards sheâd let him do the finishing touches to her hair? It really wasnât as if it was high-maintenance by a long stretch. Quite the opposite. So long as she didnât end up with something drastic like half her head shorn.
Another thought sprang to mind just then and she fell silent for an instant before her voice turned rather lilting.Â
âOkay, I got it. Help me sharpen this knife then, if you please ~âÂ

diaforetikes:
It felt like she took hours to finish sewing and cleaning, as much as he felt quite drained, he was still more than conscious of what was going on- though it did take him a bit to realize that she was- in fact- finished with everything for the moment- Perhaps the delayed realization came because he couldnât really believe that.
But her hand rubbing his horns was enough to let him know that all was alright and that he could be at ease.
He let out a relieved sigh as he stayed in the same position, he was more than sure that if he moved- even if it was to simply switch to a more comfortable position- it would hurt, he was going to let moving for later, when he felt just a bit less out of it. â Still, he had to thank her, she was probably very tired as well, wasnât she? It was very nice from her that she dared treat somebody that wasnât really a human, amazing, too.
With a short nod,he finally moved, though to gently reach for her hand, he did wish to take it as a silent âthank youâ while he recovered his energies.
If only this could be marked down as an achievement in her resumĂ©! She did feel that she was pretty deserving of it, too. How many humans in this world could boast of having performed surgery on someone completely out of their studied fields, right? Call it arrogance or a case of seriously inflated self-importance, she did feel pretty damn proud of herself. Would have given Berat a high-five, even, if only it hadn't been him on the operating table...well, sans the table itself, and a great deal of proper equipment.Â
Which just made the sense of accomplishment in her spike, really. Enough for her to forget about mock-complaining about being more tired than she really was (well...she was really tired, that was true, but let her ride on the coattails of adrenaline and triumph a while, please) and generous to have gone to such lengths for his sake. Thereâd be another time for double of that treatment once he was back on his feet and all patched up.
âHavenât washed my hands, mister ~â she chuckled, showing him how the cuticle of each fingernail was now lined with the brown of clotted blood before dropping her hand right onto his palm anyway. âHope you donât scream about that later. Also -â
With that, her free hand moved to brush back strands of his hair in a gesture of unmentioned worry.Â
â- welcome back, huh?â Â Â
I think I have this thing where everybody has to think Iâm the greatest. And if they arenât completely knocked out and dazzled and slightly intimidated by me, I donât feel good about myself.
