This was the question Carmen had asked herself all day, and she sighed tiredly, her gaze on the clock on the wall as she watched the countdown trickle by. She was minutes away from a month of freedom, but time seemed to be taking its…time, today. Sat anxiously in her cubicle with her things gathered up, her foot tapped restlessly as she watched the clock continue to tick away. Ten more minutes to go…nine minutes…

“Come on,” she growled impatiently at the clock, relieved when it finally hit five. “Thank God!” Hastily, she grabbed her bag and clocked out, leaving behind an empty cubicle and her job for the next four weeks as she prepared to embark on a summer adventure with her two best friends in the world.
