KAMES WEEK POSTPONED DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST!

So a couple days ago I asked you guys how you felt about postponing Kames Week to give everyone more time to work on stuff... and only one person responded. And it's a friend I talk to practically every day soooo... Since it seems about three people care about Kames Week (myself included), I've decided to postpone the event until December at the earliest. Hopefully this'll give folks more time to work on stuff and maybe even generate interest so people will actually give a damn about this. It just really sucks to put so much time and effort into this (time and effort that could've been spent elsewhere FYI) and then no one seems to react or care or wanna get involved. In summation: no Kames Week on Monday. Possibly December, if at all. Thanks for the non-responses.

Quick Question!!

Someone very near and dear to me has requested that I push back the dates for Kames Week due to time constraints and real life busy-ness. I understand that a month wasn't a whole lotta time to get things done, especially with jobs and school and other commitments, so it's something I am seriously considering doing. I'm not sure when exactly it would be moved to since I have to also take into consideration holidays and my own deadlines for other projects. Which is why I thought I'd throw a feeler post out there to see what you guys think. If you are participating in or /want/ to participate in Kames Week, either reply to this post, reblog it with a comment, or send me an ask telling me what you think: yay postponing or no, go ahead and do it next week. Again, no clue when it would be if it is postponed, but it will definitely be by the end of the year. Please please PLEASE let me know what you guys think. Thanks!!

Six Days Til Kames Week 2015 Begins!

Hey, look who’s behind on stuff and keeps getting distracted by other fandoms. Whoops!

[Last answer] Yes! I love when Kames fics implement the reactions/support of her and the other two guys and Katie (who probably already knows in every possible situation haha), it's definitely one of my favorite parts. (But no, I totally agree. It's hard to read Kendall or James with anyone else, not because I'm totally against the other pairings, but- but I can't stand Kames NOT being together! Sacrilege.)

Yes! I like the idea that the guys kinda try to hide it from Katie, like they're afraid of scarring her or think she's too young to understand why boys would kiss boys but she just rolls her eyes, crosses her arms and sticks her hip out as she snarkily reminds then that she's 12 not 2 and she knew they wanted in each other's pants long before they realized it themselves, don't insult her intelligence like that. And Kendall just stands there stunned as Katie walks away muttering about what idiots they all are and James just grins wide and asks if that means they can fool around on the couch now.Totally understand what you mean there. I shipped Jagan and Kenlos for a lil bit--I blame that fic "The Bachelor" tbh--but Kames was still number one to me. Now I just kinda side-eye the idea of them with anyone else. NO OFFENSE TO THOSE WHO SHIP KENDALL OR JAMES WITH OTHERS! YOU DO YOU! Just be nice about it and respectful and don't shove it down people's throats or insult other ships or try to "convert" anyone to your ship. [/ass covering]

The answer to that question reminds me of "Big Time Sneakers" where Mama Knight constantly catches the guys in "questionable situations," and I loved her simple response of "OK! :)" Like a little, "I knew this day would come. And just so you boys know I'm cool with it!" Sigh, too bad Kendall and James weren't teamed up for that episode...

I forgot about that. I think cuz it's non-Kames (nothing against Jagan tho! Just, I'm clearly a Kames girl). But yes! You just know if/when Kendall ever came out to his mom, her reaction would be "that's nice, sweetie, did you finish your homework?" Like it's such a non-issue with her, she's fine as long as everyone's happy and consenting and it doesn't involve, like, animals or dead bodies--line has to be /somewhere/, ya know?. She'd probably even buy Kendall--or any of the boys really--condoms and lube and give it to him/them with a wink cuz she knows she can't stop them from fooling around--boys will be boys, teenage hormones, yada yada--but she's gonna make sure they're at least being safe about it, goshdarnit! And they'll be washin their /own/ sheets, because again, line.

This doesn't have anything to do with Kamesweek (although it is an awesome idea) but I'm watching season 1 nd I'm wondering if having Big Time Tests in season 1 would've made anything different? For some reason I can picture kisses, but that's probably my slash part of my brain. xD

Hello there! First of all, sorry for the delay on answering this. I spent Friday trying to figure out an answer, then my weekend was busy being distracted by other things, but here I am!

Secondly, glad you like the idea! Can’t take full credit, I’ve seen ship-weeks for other ships in other fandoms, as well as character appreciation and femslash weeks, but I’m glad you enjoy the fact that I swiped it and made it Kames. (The prompts are my own so hey, a lil bit of originality there lol!)

Third, to finally answer your question… Honestly, I would love to say yes, it would’ve changed EVERYTHING and Kames might’ve even been an actual canon couple for the rest of the show, but realistically, I don’t know if that would’ve happened. For starters, it was on a kids channel. Had it been on MTV or possibly even ABC Family, then yeah, canon gay couple, maybe even on and off like Lomille to add drama or something, maybe together throughout the whole show but struggling to balance their roles in the band with their roles in their relationship. There’s all kinds of possible ways it could have played out…had it not been on Nickelodeon. But since it was, the big orange heads there would most likely not have made Kames canon, solely for fear of conservative parents complaining and possible lawsuits from them over exposing their kids to something they feel is inappropriate and sick. Plus in the show writers’ minds and the minds of those big orange heads, it was one buddy helping to cheer up another buddy and was all completely heterosexual and innocent. It was a friendship break up and not actual boyfriends. Or maybe they knew it would be interpreted as boyfriends and they queerbaited the hell out of us for an episode, who knows?!

On another note, I just don’t think Big Time Tests would’ve worked in season one to begin with. The main idea behind the Kames storyline was James’ feelings for Lucy, a character who isn’t even introduced until the next season. Although now that I think about it, maybe he takes a generic “are you a good boyfriend?” magazine quiz… That would work… Still don’t think it would’ve led (I typed “laid” at first, just FYI) to any big gay reveals or actual canon Kames beyond Mama Knight’s declaration of “you and James are back together?” (which, again, was most likely meant as a friendship getting back together, if not severe queerbaiting), because of the whole “kids TV show” thing. But it IS a very interesting thought to have and would’ve made for a whole lot more fanfics I’m sure.

Also, slash parts of the brain tend to be the best and the most fun, don’t they? ^__^

Announcing the First Ever KAMES WEEK!!

That’s right! An entire week dedicated to Kendall and James from Big Time Rush, aka the REAL Kames! This event takes place from October 19th through the 25th, seven days of fics, drawings, edits, gifs, fanmixes and more! Each day is a new one word prompt to inspire your work and get those creative juices flowing. Each word is open to interpretation and able to be used in any number of ways. As promised, here’s the prompt list that will hopefully inspire your muses:

Day 1 (October 19th): First. Maybe it’s their first kiss? First date? Maybe someone won first in a contest? Doesn’t matter, it’s all up to you!

Day 2 (October 20th): Kids. Is it Kames as kids? Kames having kids? Kames meeting through their kids? Maybe they work with kids? Who knows?! No matter what, it’s sure to be adorable.

Day 3 (October 21st): Song. Whether your work is inspired by a song or is them writing a song, singing a song, covering a song, we all know music sounds better with Kames.

Day 4 (October 22nd): Fight. Who are they in a fight with? Each other? Someone else? The world? Are they in the MMA? Let us know why they’re fighting and whom.

Day 5 (October 23rd): Power. Maybe the power went out. Maybe one of them has the power in the relationship. Maybe they have super powers and run around fighting crime while costumed. With great power comes...great artwork ;)

Day 6 (October 24th): Stars. Is it the stars in the sky? Is it celebrities? Who can say? Oh yeah, you can!

Day 7 (October 25th): Home. Is it an actual home or an abstract concept? Are they buying a home, going home, looking for a home? Home can mean so many things to so many people. What does it mean to you and your boys?

There you have it, folks! The prompts and dates for the first ever Kames Week! Feel free to start cooking up ideas and working on your pieces--just don’t post them obviously, lol. Then when Kames Week happens, post your work--or links to them if you post them elsewhere--on Tumblr and tag them with “Kamesweek2015″. Um, what if you're busy as hell but reeeeeallllly want to do this. How much of advance notice will we get to create Kames stuff since old stuff is not allowed. :P

Prompts will be up by the end of the week (if not sooner, cause I'm 99% sure I've got the final list down pat) and it's looking like Kames Week will be happening October 19-25, so you'll have about a month or so to work on stuff.
