Final artwork

I choose this one as a final artwork.

I tried quite a lots of different digital experiments, some of them worked fine but I always thought they are missing some warmth.

I like the handmade looking of this one and not perfect is so beautiful.

Also, I really enjoyed the workshops which I did on this class. I looked at all of them and pick up and tear the bits which I think really nice and beautiful. Especially, I’m really happy with the mono print clouds. It’s looks real looking!

I used brown wrapping paper for landscape. To make more texture, I crumped the paper.

If I could improve this one more, I would change the background color and try to erase white area. However, it might not work well. Also, use a sewing machine if I had more time.

Overall, I did enjoyed using some new techniques for this brief and this final piece is not my usual style so glad to see more potential in myself.

Standing stone collage and paper relief printing

I used cereal box to cut out standing stone shapes and print by pushing on some black stamp pads.

I think that pads were almost finish so couldn’t get enough colour which was disappointing but I painted with watercolor later.

Also, use different colors pads and made background then, this one got stained glass like effect.

Added a little details of ancient patterns with fine line pen.

I change the some layout of stones.

To get more textures and colors, I add brown paper and some other workshop prints.

I changed the colors only black and white by digitally.

More digital experiments

I did really enjoyed to do this woodblock printing for Towie ball pattern and sponge workshop.

So, I’ve got ideas to mix up these 2 artworks on digitally.

This one looks like an ancient print. I like the fading colors and feeling magical power from it.

It could be the final art, too.

Changed some positions.

Colors and black and white one.

Combine with the Lino cut print.

Collage 2

I did a couple of more collages for standing stones. I use old book pages and made stone shapes and with color paper made landscape.

I think using written paper was unique but I felt these words are not belong to standing stone so felt strange.

I quite enjoyed finding the right color papers and positions for this collage.

I play with colors, patterns and texture. I especially love the fabric texture pieces. It gives this a soft and pretty images.

I wanted to see how this looks like on digital.

Used Ibis paint X to change colors and then use stained glass effect in the end one.

I think the last one looks really good but if I could make it better, I would use thicker black lines around standing stones to make them stand out more next time.

Collage 1

I tried a couple of collages to use some workshop’s prints. I pick up the one which I really like and cool.

With the leftover paper of paper relief printings.

Mono print workshop

I’ve never done mono print before so this work shop was really good and useful. I love learning new techniques! I use photo frame’s plastic cover as board. It worked quite well. To wipe off the ink, I used some cotton pads and pencils.

I really love the clouds on this artwork. It’s looks so natural and so easy to make!

I also used brown rapping papers to do recycle. I think that papers got texture already so made really interesting mysterious prints. I tried to get a ghost effect ,too. These are also had a good results.

I might use different colors next time to see how the effects works.

Lino cut print 2

I thought it would be really cool to make detailed towie ball. It took quite a long time but had a good time.

Tried to print on some newspapers as well.

I made marbling paper with kids so printed on this. Very mysterious looking.

Flamed one.

I like detailed Lino cut print. But for this brief, this design is too simple so this is not a final one.I would love to try multicolored print next time so I have to learn the technique.

Lino print

I made a small Lino cut print for towie ball pattern.

I don’t think I can use it by self but maybe as patterns or use with other designs will work.

Hand drawing experiment

I like Peter Max. His artworks are so colorful and vivid and crazy. I made some drawings influenced by him.

I colored with colour pencils for first one and use colour marker pens for second one. Both have got his vivid style. These are more illustrations. Also liked the black lines for the sharp edges. It’s like a stained glass.

More digital experiments

I made towie ball’s pattern digital designs as well. I enjoyed making these but I’m not sure these are nice enough. This is the trouble is using digital. There are far too many effects so confusing to choose the right one...

I used some of analogue one which made at the mark making work shop.

I honestly can not decide which one is the best. These are all different...

Digital experiment

Based on last time’s standing stone collage design, I did a digital work experiment.

I use 2 different digital paint apps. Ibis paint X and Procreate Both has own cons so I can’t decide to one.

I wanted use bright happy colors for this like Dick Bruna. I hope these looks like the illustrations which you will see on children’s books.

I really enjoyed something different from other works which I already done before.

I do love both of them. The trouble is these kind of art will be accepted by only small amounts of people.

So, I’m not going to choose as final piece. But I definitely will have them on my house walls!

Standing stone experiment with paper print

I did paper relief print of standing stone. It was interesting to think about positions and show how to make depth with colors. It was much easier than the cardboard relief print because no much bumps. Also nice to get really crisp edges between colors.

Depends on the amount of paint (acrylic paint) I could make some textures.

Rearrange the stone positions. I use my finger to paint these sky.

Used cereal box. Also made cool texture.

I don’t like to waste the original pieces so I did made a collage with them. Fun!

Standing stone experiment with cardboard print

I was thinking about the material which we can do recycle to reduce the rubbish. My house has got so many cardboards so I decided to do relief print with them.

It looks quite easy but actually it was harder than I thought. Especially the parts which had to peel of the top layer. I could manage to use a couple of different texture so excited to print out!

First, put relief ink for background.

Then, add gray stone colour.

Compare to the Lino cut or wood block print, the details are really rough and bold but I think showing the textures was a success.

Maybe next time, I will reduce the bumpy texture areas and more smooth areas would be better to show texture on and off.

I also think this board is more interesting than the print. It’s like a 3D print.

Soft pastel workshop

I use the material which between crayon and pastel. It’s call Coupy in Japan. I did use some standing stone shaped cardboard under the paper and rubbing on it. Also did with circle shapes which made interesting futuristic designs. I think I will use some good parts of this for my final piece one.

I like the texture of backgrounds which show my wooden dining table. I think give the impression of warmth.

The first one is my favorite piece! So mysterious and futuristic!

Sponge workshop

I like these colorful images! I use some stamp pads to make this rectangle shape. I put shaped paper and stamp on it made circle or stone shapes. I especially impressed the color piled up parts.

line drawing workshop

It was really fun workshop. I used some different kinds of material as well like marker, pencil and fine line pens. Without looking what I’m drawing was very hard but result was interesting which I didn’t expected and great!

I like the random effect if shapes. I can see the clouds and standing stones landscape there. I think very cool to draw on the one done before as well . Making depths!

Did some experiment with digital

I like the colors of glitch. These like very bright pop art and cheerful.
