The AU takes place in hell (duh), with sans acting as the king of the underworld, Like Hades, or Lucifer, or whatever the freak. The human souls are replaced instead with the seven deadly sins, frisk being wrath.
In this AU, Mettaton is the blood son of sans, or death I guess, who is currently mortal and living, and monitors frisk through monitors, acting as a sort of guide or general eyes in the sky as appointed by his father.
In this timeline, frisk is known by all realms as the world's WORST human being EVER. So death brought them down early to get them tf out for being so bad.
So frisk, being in hell, can either go on a journey of self reflection and strive to be a better person, or kill everyone.... Again..... Like permanently I guess.
Chara is an outlier amidst the demons and sinners, for they're a fallen angel from heaven. They didn't do anything wrong, but when given the chance to go back up to heaven after said fall, they were like "nah this place is kinda cool" and decided to stay (the ball and chain was also their idea don't ask). Chara was also assigned a personal body guard from death's hell regime, Asriel! Son of the head guard toriel and current best friend to Chara.
Napstablook, or bleak, is said to be THE snake, or the soul of the snake. The snake that gave Eve the apple or orange or whatever it was idk I don't read the Bible. Anyways yeah he's a little menace in the underworld. Dont like him.
Alphys guides lost souls in hell to their place of belonging. She bears a lantern to help souls see the way through all of the darkness.
Papyrus rows the boat that sails across the river of souls, from the entrance of hell to the "main lands".
Dont ask me about undyne I do NOT know how a robot is going to fit into the whole "youre in hell" narrative, she can be a torture robot or something idk.
