working  as  a  barista  in  gristol  was  such  a  stark  CONTRAST  compared  to  when  prince  was  away  at  school  over  in  new  york  city  and  worked  at  some  cafe  nearby  to  campus  .  there  was  always  a  next  customer  with  no  real  quiet  time  in-between  to  rest  other  than  quick  cleaning  when  there  were  an  ABUNDANCE  of  baristas  squished  behind  the  counter  space  with  him  .  it  was  oddly  refreshing  to  be  back  in  gristol  at  roast  where  he  had  time  to  breathe  －  even  if  the  quiet  often  had  him  feeling  like  he  wasn’t  being  productive  ENOUGH  .  like  he  had  to  find  something  to  do  with  such  free  time  when  the  cafe  was  dead  aside  from  previous  customers  lingering  at  tables  with  their  drinks  .  during  these  times  prince  often  wiped  down  any  messes  and  it  was  extremely  DANGEROUS  because  he  knew  he  lacked  impulse  control  paired  with  his  sweet  tooth  for  the  sugary  coffees  .  which  is  how  he  found  himself  in  situations  like  this  ,  more  often  than  not  with  chaemin  when  they  were  working  shifts  together  .  if  he  were  to  be  honest  ,  prince  looked  forward  to  working  when  he  saw  that  they  were  scheduled  together  .  even  if  he  may  seem  like  a  nuisance  to  the  other  when  prince  would  talk  his  ear  off  .  ❝  my  WHOLE  body  ??  ❞  prince  echoed  in  surprise  ,  brown  hues  widening  at  the  other  before  glancing  down  to  see  if  he  could  notice  .  his  hands  were  definitely  twitching  but  maybe  he  was  immune  to  seeing  the  rest  .  prince  lets  himself  be  pushed  down  into  a  seat  by  chaemin  ,  accepting  the  water  and  sandwich  .  his  expression  of  bewilderment  shifts  to  a  strained  smile  as  he  tries  to  keep  himself  from  laughing  ,  but  a  snicker  passes  through  his  lips  as  he  reaches  to  open  the  sandwich  packaging  .  ❝  thank  you  ,  mom  .  though  now  you  have  the  image  of  me  exploding  in  the  store  painted  in  my  mind  ,  so  i’ll  prolong  that  as  long  as  i  can  to  spare  you  from  cleaning  me  up  .  ❞  prince  follows  chaemin’s  lead  by  taking  a  sip  of  his  own  water  and  frowns  slightly  .  ❝  would  you  judge  me  if  i  were  to  say  this  lacks  whipped  cream  ??  i  think  i’m  forming  another  addiction  and  my  teeth  are  going  to  HATE  me  .  ❞

leaning back in his chair, till the front legs lifted and the chance of him falling backwards was in the back of his mind, chaemin nodded slowly. taking the cap off his bottle and drinking down two fast gulps of water, the blond tilted his head as he studied the cafe around them. it was so...american. sure, it was no starbucks, but once you stepped in the door, it screamed small town usa. chaemin always wondered if he still lived in korea would he still work in a cafe, maybe an animal cafe, or god forbid a maid one. laughing quietly to himself, he stuck out his tongue at prince’s mom comment. “good, i hope that image stays with you and every time you make a frappe you see it. how can you possibly have so many at one time ? they’re so sickly sweet.” corners of his mouth turning up, chae took another sip of water. it wasn’t that he hated the sweeter coffe drinks, but they were more of a guilty pleasure, the people that barely knew him always telling him he suited the bitter espressos to match his bitter personality, and who was he to dissapoint their expectations? setting the seat back on all four legs, chae pulled his legs up so he was sat criss crossed and resting his elbows on his knees. pulling a face at the male across from him, chaemin couldn’t help the chuckle that left him. “yes, one hundred percent judging you right now. especially considering you’ve probably never seen me making one of those puppercinos for myself, why do you think we go throw so much whipped cream a month.” with a wink, he went back to sipping at his water, grin plastered on his face at the confession of his own sweet tooth.
