if you think you're having a bad day, he's having a worse one. Matter of fact, he's had so many truly awful ones, it's a wonder to me how he keeps going
this poor man has his sanity hanging by a thread and is soooo painful to watch
I feel so much for him because he's actually the only one who seems to be grieving. IMO he is barely processing the fact that he's being charged with the murder of his best friend, whom he loved like a brother, because his biggest problem is the fact that he's gone, and has been going through all stages of grief. Meanwhile, everyone and their mothers are blaming him. And I get it, because anger is easier than grief, and most people aren't ready to deal with that yet, so it's a tragedy in and of itself.
This is depressing lol
And the only one on his side, is a woman he met a few days ago, that for some reason seems to believe in him when he's not even sure what the hell happened that night. It only adds to his shock and confusion.
But omg I love her. I really do. This woman is someone I'd love to have in my life, because she's just so grounded and level-headed without being cold or super stern. She might look cold at times, but she holds so much compassion for others, especially the people she defends, because she knows what it is like to be in their place (and I don't need to know her whole backstory to understand her father was innocent). She's damn good at her job, and she knows and is the reason she sleeps well at night; but the joy after a terrible, traumatic event in her life comes from this poor man who is incredibly broken right now.
I just love so much how this has been approached. This could have turned out super delulu on her side (and I mean let's be honest, she definitely had a parasocial relationship with him before this), but she actually met him and it gave him warmth and comfort at her lowest. Now she's just returning the favor, and is really sweet. She just wants to help him, and is glad that she actually can, and be of support to him.
Honestly, I said it in my last post, but I feel that this man is gonna fall so easily and hard. Because, to be honest, why wouldn't he? She's amazing and caring (the dusting off his socks and putting his shoes in front of him was such a tender, caring moment!). And he is desperate for someone in his life to show him even a little bit of love and understanding. And she's gonna give him like breathing. Effortlessly.
God. This detail! Her in the light, holding out a hand for him to stand up, guiding him into the warm, sunny colors. I love that! Poetic cinema! I keep saying it, she's his knight in shiny armor!
