A child was forced to lay with her dead counterparts and play dead. A five year old little girl had to lay with her lifeless, blood covered family and stop herself from breathing, blinking, moving to keep herself from getting shot. 10 people were shot, 9 were shot to death. People lost their family. Their friends. But this scum gets an excuse? He gets defense for his deplorable actions? He planned this for MONTHS. He shot down a church and said it was racially motivated. He said, “you rape our women. You’re taking over our country. You have to go.” His head was clear. This is not an insanity plea. He was not losing his mind. He planned it for a long time and voiced his opinions. He supported segregation. He openly hated black people. He is a raging racist. This was not caused by some pills. Pills do not make people racist. Pills don’t make people shoot multiple people in a church. Pills do not make you support segregation. Racism isn’t caused by anything but yourself. Canadian federal scientists need to have more freedom from political influence, their advocates say, as the union representing government researchers heads to the bargaining table this week.
The federal government has been accused of muzzling its scientists, denying them the opportunity to speak to the media, express their opinions or present their work at scientific conferences. The advocacy group Evidence for Democracy wants to push back against those government restrictions with the hope that scientists will be allowed to express themselves more freely under their next contract.
“It’s really just about protecting the scientist’s rights to actually do science,” said Katie Gibbs, executive director of Evidence for Democracy. Gibbs is calling for the government to add a personal views exemption to its next contract with scientists, “so they can give their opinion, as long as they’re being clear that it is their opinion,” Gibbs told CTV’s Canada AM. She also wants those scientists to be allowed to share their work at scientific conferences and speak to the media more directly.
Gibbs says recently-introduced government policies have put up a barrier between federal scientists and the public, denying taxpayer-funded researchers the chance to speak to journalists in many cases. Last year, for instance, the federal government refused to let journalists speak to Environment Canada researchers on a UN climate change panel.

This is weird because I know a specific group of people (about 40 of my friends) who have abandoned their original study plans, hope and dreams because their parents/families are poor and they were either forced to study certain fields or didn’t have the heart to study things that wouldn’t pay off like medicine and engineering because they knew their families would never be able to pay back loans otherwise. I myself am continuing my education abroad because I cannot afford to continue school in the US, among other reasons. It’s a shame, at the time that we should have been enjoying our lives and spreading our wings, we instead spend too many nights studying like machines, doing any and everything to force ourselves to love and excel in fields we don’t want to study and crying our hearts out because bad grades meant that we’d screwed our family’s chances of getting out of poverty or avoiding it..
The (500) Days of Summer attitude of “He wants you so bad” seems attractive to some women and men, especially younger ones, but I would encourage anyone who has a crush on my character to watch it again and examine how selfish he is. He develops a mildly delusional obsession over a girl onto whom he projects all these fantasies. He thinks she’ll give his life meaning because he doesn’t care about much else going on in his life. A lot of boys and girls think their lives will have meaning if they find a partner who wants nothing else in life but them. That’s not healthy. That’s falling in love with the idea of a person, not the actual person.
Funny how two rival biker gangs can have a full blown shootout in the front of a supermarket that leaves 18 injured and 9 dead and not be killed, shot at, tased, chased, tear gassed, or even hand cuffed but if a few minorities gather together to peacefully protest the murder of a child the police come militarized.
