So a friend of mine told me how yesterday his coworker died on the way to work due to speeding and crossed a red light (she was late for the third time, so I’m guessing she was trying to avoid a write up). As soon as she crossed the light she was hit on the drivers side by a semi. The messed up part is that in less than an hour her table was cleared for a new worker. In less than 4 hours they had sent out the news that they are hiring. By the end of the day the hiring manager had contacted 4 people for an interview. Moral of the story is, these jobs don’t care about your ass. They will replace you in a snap. Don’t risk or waste your life trying to go above and beyond for a job that could care less about your wellbeing.

So this made so much sense. You’ve been asking about bias and how to eliminate bias and every time I kinda think “Huh?”. I feel like I know it in theory but my judgmental self doubts my ability to remove this judgement. So reading this was like throwing me a lifeline or phoning a friend. It made it very practical for me to understand/ gave me a realistic example. This article also wrote in immense detail the complexity associated with different types of research. My favorite section was Survey or Interview? This highlighted the need to consider what kind of information am I seeking. Clearly, a survey survey does not allow me to get the information I am looking for— but could it? Then Driscoll followed that section with a reminder on how to write “good” questions which reminded me how to write questions that answer what I need answered. Research is not as easy as we continuously claim it is. Or at least GOOD research isn’t. A reminder that I can always seek to learn something new. - Genevia
Fox News….. I don’t think they triangulate
This reading was relatively easy. We (should) know how to research thoroughly, ensuring that our information is solid and true. I struggle with how we would use print sources. This is going to be tricky for some of us depending on the group. For more straight forward groups like Hilltop Views or Topper Radio there may be written sources, but events like Leadershape do not have very much written on them. Would our focus on written content then center around pedagogy instead of finding sources on the groups? I think that makes the most sense. Also, we should forward this article to FOX. I am almost certain they do not triangulate… or read... or research... or anything... Send them this information... NOW -Genevia

Something about black parenting. This is so good and pure, I want to give him a mug that says #1 dad!
The media usually doesn’t show happy Muslim Black family. Let’s break this rule!
This is so precious. I wanna cry.
3,000 miles never seemed so far.
I'd like to go back and remember his annoying ass face 🙄

A text from Prodigy to his daughter. Someone might benefit from reading this.
