What a pinch-me moment it must be to see your own design featured in one of the most popular fashion magazines in the world, Women's Wear Daily. The wool Kara dress from Laricks' FW13 line was styled with a Patricia Underwood hat and a pair of Frye boots. This dress can be so easily thrown on for an effortlessly cool look.

Yohji Yamamoto's fantastic creative energy seems to have passed down to his daughter, Limi Feu, who is also making a name for herself in the fashion design world. Both creators are inspirations to Kara. In Feu's Spring '13 line, the designer talked about capturing "a Japanese mood." Dungarees with a tiny bib front, tailored jackets, caftans, and waistcoats all stormed down the runway, mostly in classic black and white.

Janelle Monae's new video for Q.U.E.E.N (ft Erykah Badu) comes out today, May 1st! Tilda Swinton can even make sleeping artsy. The actress brings a whole new meaning to getting beauty rest at the MoMa Museum in NYC, where she takes part in a performance piece called “The Maybe.” Tilda slept in a glass box all day on Saturday, with only a mattress, pillows, linens and a water jug to accompany her. Swinton will supposedly perform the piece about a half dozen more times before the end of the year at different locations around the museum.
Haider Ackermann’s Fall 2013 captured the essence of a powerful woman. Quoted by the designer, “There are so many strong woman that I’m surrounded by, but… there’s a lot of fragility in them, and I wanted to capture this.” Haider focused on compelling coats and jackets that complimented the body. The play on textures was also intriguing, from rough-haired fur to delicate woolens to silken leather.
It was all about tailoring at Stella McCartney’s menswear inspired Fall 2013 line at Paris Fashion Week. Stella’s show was impressive, to say the least, and nothing less than expected. Saskia de Brauw opened the show wearing a fabulous wrap over blazer and long skirt, which was a simply incredible moment.
Models debuted Yohji Yamamoto’s Fall 2013 line rocking dark, blunt bangs that complimented the edgy vibe of the show. The designer sent his looks out with a series of themes, from arty street pieces to designs that seemed to be covered in paper fortune-teller games. Seen in this photo, the detailing that went into the show is proven to be exquisite.
London Fashion Week set the mood for minimalism and androgyny. Aquascutum showcased its Fall 2013 line by sending models down the runway in streamlined, structured pieces. The basic color usage portrays a vision of sleek, wearable pieces.
Flo Gennaro’s ability to ooze complete confidence, yet remain sweetly humble makes her one classy lady. She rocked the runway at The Row’s Fall ‘13 fashion week show, demonstrating her briliant skill of looking foxy in anything she steps into. This photo of beige layering and a simple pop of bold red really stood out. Flo looks subtly sexy and completely luxurious.
Tilda is the perfect candidate to star as the new face of Chanel’s Paris-Edimbourg Collection. She embodies such everlasting elegance, sure to shine in Karl’s pieces. Stated by a spokesperson from the brand, the actress was chosen for her “unique personality, charisma, and allure.” The imagery is said to be released in May and the anticipation will surely build over the months.
