“Seems to me like yer snoopin’. What do you want before I call the cops on ya.”
“No, no. I’m sorry, I’m lost. I didn't mean to scare you and I'm definitely not a criminal."
“They’ll never be rich.” Elektra said it with absolute confidence - and it wasn’t because they weren’t good at their job that they wouldn’t make it big. “They’re too idealistic.” Matthew was too idealistic. She just couldn’t say his name. Not yet. “They’ll continue to live their lives in squalor just to help the little old lady down the block.”
Elle. She damn well nearly flinched back from the nickname. Elle was the girl who was a straight A college student. The one who partied with her friends on the weekends, giggled with Karen and crushed hard on a blind boy in her Spanish class. Where was that girl? “It’s Elektra now.” The name of a killer. The thank you for Karen’s compliment was nothing more than a slight nod of acknowledgement before she pondered the question. No, she wasn’t hungry - but it was an opportunity to learn about what Matt had been up to. “Think you can take a lunch break?”
"I know they will never be rich, but it's okay, this, what we do, it feels right and we honestly prefer to be broke and help people than to be rich in a corrupt corporation." Karen shrugged, defending her friends. She had had plenty of time to think about it, and it always ended up in the same thing, they were doing what they had to.
"I'm sorry Elektra." She said, and her words came out more harsh than she intended. "That sounds great, I'm starving and you look very skinny." a laugh came out of her lips as she grabbed her purse, then she turned around, looking at her friend. "I just can't believe you are standing in front of me, Elektra, after all these years. I'm really happy."

“Oh,” He said at normal volume. “Someone’s eager.” Lee simply stated quietly, that part. He smiled back. “Name’s Lee.” To be kinda harsh, he didn’t say his full name as he shook the woman’s hand.
She rolled her eyes. "I'm not flirting with you, Lee. There's just something strange in you that somehow felt familiar, but I don't really know what."
Henry had a nervous look upon his face ‘ You can do this ‘ He thought to himself before kindly replying with “ Uhm… Hi “
Karen raised her brows and couldn't help but laugh at his reaction. "You are cute, I like it." Sitting next to him, she held out a hand. "I'm Karen, and you can buy me a drink."
Matt found her hand again and tangled there fingers together. He just listened to her heartbeat to remember it, he took in her scent that always was intoxicating to him. He did care about her and like everyone he cared for he was going to lose her. He smiled sadly. “I really like you too, beautiful.”
He nodded. It was the first time that she had came over to his. He thought about that day all the time. “How can I forget it?” He listened to her and then leaned forward and pressed a light kissed to her forehead. His eyes filling up behind his glasses. “You are my salvation. I was buried underneath and all my own guilt, some days it felt like is was going to crush me. For a years that’s all I knew, till I met you. You came into my life and you brought out the best parts of me again. Parts of me I thought I lost ages ago. You saved me in so many ways. I will miss you more then you know.”
The fact that Matt didn't actually know how Karen was, made his words just extra lovely and couldn't help but smile, but when he started to talk, her expression was stunned at the moment she flinched, his words pelted her like boulders. A lump started to rise in her throat and tears were threatening to overflow her eyes. There were two main reasons for her tears, the first one is that she never knew how dark his past was and how miserable he felt, and other one was because she loved him so much it was even a little physically painful to admit since she always felt like he deserved better.
Karen collided her body to his, encasing his body in a clumsy embrace. His body made her feel save and like she was home, exactly where she belonged but with a broken heart, she realized that he wasn't going to be hers, not anymore. "Promise me to never feel like that again, Matt!" she yelled desperately, her voice hoarse as sobs started to escape her throat.
I love the work you've done with "ofsais", "theblindxdevil" and "tobepunished"!
//Thank you, you beautiful anon! I’m just a terrible writer who found great people who just happen to make me fangirl.
“People that can hurt you, the ones that can really hurt you, are the ones that are close enough to do it. People that get inside you and tear you apart, and make you feel like you’re never gonna recover. You sit here and you’re all confused about this thing, but you have it. You have everything. So, hold on to it. Use two hands and never let go. You got it?” You love him.
What was the first thing you thought when The Punisher lost his shit at court and told everyone he was guilty?
What the fuck, Frank? I thought we were a team. Now you are going to jail, why would you do that? Please stop, you are scaring the kids.
“– No he isn’t my grandfather. But… he’s someone important to me.” Ellie gave an odd look to the older woman shaking her head “No, I think I can find him fine on my own.”
She was surprised at how independent and mature the little girl acted, but also she was a little concerned. "Are you sure you don't want me to help you?"
He felt hallow again. The idea of losing her was hard to come to terms with, she was one of few good things in his life. “Karen.” He protested but she had moved already so he just did want she wanted and joined her on the bed, leaving his cane next to the chair. He chest tightened when she winced. “I’m listening, I promise.”
Without saying a word, Karen contemplated Matt's face, taking her time in every single curve, almost like she was trying to memorize it, and suddenly everything seemed much better. When she looked at his lips, dying didn't seem to bad, because someone cared about her, and that someone was lying next to her. "You are gorgeous and I really like you." She whispered, before letting out a weak laugh.
"Do you remember when you told me you would give anything to see the sky one more time?" Without waiting for his answer, she continued. "My favourite time of the day is the dawn, because all the darkness fades away with mixture of red, pink and purple, it's so peaceful and yet so full of promises for a new day. And you are just like those colors Matt, passionate, loving and you gave light to my life."
Henry sat in the corner of the bar resting against the wall as he starred out onto the dance floor watching the gorgeous redhead dance and enjoy her night.
A man caught Karen's attention, and slowly she walked towards him with a grin. "Are you going to stare at me forever, or are you going to talk to me?"
Elektra didn’t know what she was expecting, but it certainly wasn’t to be engulfed in Karen’s arms like the good old days. After all, she had left without so much as a warning. After her father died she just… cut herself off from everyone. And now? Now she was an entirely different person. But with her best friends arms around her she felt a spark of the old Elektra. The one that loved fiercely, danced without a care and wanted to save the world. Where was that Elektra?
Clearing her throat, the assassin stepped back, creating some distance between them. “Oh, you know, I was in town. Thought I’d drop by.” Playing it cool was easier than letting emotions get the best of her. “This place is… quaint.”
Karen couldn't help but something cold in her chest when Elektra stepped back. Maybe her friend was mad at her, maybe she knew that she went out with Matt, just once. Letting out a sigh, she looked around. Papers were all over the floor and the annoying faxes were making strange noises, again. "Yeah, well, Foggy and Matt are still broke. Wait until you see our office once they are rich." A laugh escaped from her mouth.
"I'm sorry I attacked you with the hug, I'm just really really glad to see you again, Elle." She looked at her beautiful eyes, so big and pretty, but they weren't like they used to, warm and reckless, now they were somehow dark and calculating. "Nice shoes." she said, looking at the brunette from head to toe, she looked like a model with her expensive clothes, unlike the blonde, but that never bothered her. "Hey, are you hungry?"

“Says the one who looked like they were about to drool.” He mumbled kinda quietly. “Nah, sorry to disappoint, girl. Pretty sure good men don’t flirt with strangers.” Still trying not to laugh, slightly failing with snickering sounds.
"Well, then maybe we shouldn't be strangers, don't you think?" Karend raised her brows, giving him a smile. "I'm Karen Page." The pale woman held out her hand.

Yeah, me too.” his voice edged on sarcasm, so Frank took a deep breath to reign it all in. “Must be pretty bad if you’re standin’ over me with that look on your face. What happened?” He remembered a loud bang, a sharp pain ripping through him. Remembered the feel of warm blood- his this time -soaking his clothing. “What about you? You hurt?” A quick once over noted a bruise or two, but nothing life threatening. The tightness in his chest lessened a bit at that.
“What look?” Karen frowned, not being aware of what her expressions could give away. “You’ll survive. You always do.” She whispered, turning around to push the wooden chair closer to his bed, then sighed when she remembered how many favours she owed so nobody would tell the police he was there. “You’ll just have to stay here for a little longer than you usually do.” Trying not to laugh, she sat. “I’m fine, thanks to you, Frank.” She mumbled, giving him a sweet smile and placing a hand over his. “Let me know if you need anything, I’m going to be your ‘sort of’ nurse while you are here. Don’t be a pain in my ass, please.”
