I need to realize that it’s okay to drop people out of your life that do you no good
"You told me you'd always be here if I needed you, but now it's 2am and I needed you more now then ever but you're not here."
— I tried to reach out, but I wasn't going to beg you to stay
"I used to lie in bed at night and cry my eyes out. But lately it's like I'm numb. I want to cry, but unfortunately the tears no longer drop."
— notes from the girl who lost herself
Hope is the single most devastating thing in the world
-it makes you ache over and over again
“Sometimes we get sad about things and we don’t like to tell other people that we are sad about them. We like to keep it a secret. Or sometimes, we are sad but we really don’t know why we are sad, so we say we aren’t sad but we really are.”
— Mark Haddon, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (via goodreadss)
There’s so much more to life than finding someone who will want you, or being sad over someone who doesn’t. There’s a lot of wonderful time to be spent discovering yourself without hoping someone will fall in love with you along the way, and it doesn’t need to be painful or empty. You need to fill yourself up with love. Not anyone else. Become a whole being on your own. Go on adventures, fall asleep in the woods with friends, wander around the city at night, sit in a coffee shop on your own, write on bathroom stalls, leave notes in library books, dress up for yourself, give to others, smile a lot. Do all things with love, but don’t romanticize life like you can’t survive without it. Live for yourself and be happy on your own. It isn’t any less beautiful, I promise.
