Advanced Computer Art | Project Proposal

Mixed Media: Photoshop, Watercolor, InDesign, Scans
My final project of Introduction to Computer Art revolved around the theme of emotion in correspondence with constructed space. Within five separate images I expressed the five separate emotions of hope, happiness, sadness, anger and fear within eyes. I really enjoyed this project and was extremely happy with the end result. I worked within Adobe Photoshop and was able to use all of the skills I had gained throughout the semester into one project.
For my final project for Advanced Computer Art, I’d like to expand on my final project from Introduction to Computer Art. While my first project focused on emotion of human eyes, I’d like this project to expand and focus on the emotion of the human face. The eight emotions I’d like to express are hope, happiness, sadness, fear, anger, wanderlust, broken and love-struck.
Furthermore, I want to expand on my interest of using mixed media in my work. While Photoshop will be my main editing tool, I’d like to incorporate text from Adobe InDesign, watercolor and scanned in texture. I really feel that incorporating mixed media will expand the emotional appeal and audience interaction.
My goal is to have the audience understand each emotion and interact with the emotions that resonate the most to them individually. Each emotion will be drastic and my interpretation, but I want to invite the audience to have their own interpretation as well.
Questions I still have to work through:
Do I want a white background or have them in a space?
Do I want a variety of faces or just one model?
How can I incorporate text from InDesign?
How can I make all images be cohesive?
How can I incorporate mixed media throughout? Watercolor?
