But leaving the what-if rp. I just don't have time for it anymore and I'm not having a good time. I'm sorry for the short notice but I think tumblr ate the message I sent to the main.
Worth It All: Darome
When the kiss breaks behind the car, Dave laughs a little. “I’m sorry, guess I’m just a little too chick-flick for ya. I suppose we’ll skip out on the skipping over to the balloon, then? And no, before you ask, there’s no unmanly wine or anything in the picanick basket. Come on, Mr. Masculine.”
Dave starts to walk over to the balloon handler, who is waving with arms outstretched from the basket. He is in his fifties with a wicked handlebar moustache and greets Dave and Jerome with a calloused hand and a joyful grin. “Welcome to Hot Air Balloon Tours. Today, we will go above the cloud line and see the noonday sun. You brought food? Ah good, blankets have been provided. Thank you for your purchase of our services at charity auction. Please, come in and enjoy your time in the sky.”
Dave nods to the balloon instructor. “Thanks, Reichen said you were the best in the tri-state area, so I’m inclined to believe him.”
Dave is suprised to find that he doesn’t struggle getting in the basket, that the sound of firing gas doesn’t make him nervous and that Jerome right next to him completely keeps the cold out while they’re snuggled in their blanket.
The view is more than breathtaking above the cloud line. The sun is golden, the whole of the sky is almost warm, even with the thin air.
Dave takes Jerome’s hand at the side of the basket as they’re finishing lunch. “Happy Whatever the Hell Day it is, Jerome. After everything, you were so worth the wait. I’m so glad that I’ve fallen in love with you. Glad for everything. There’s no one in this world who makes me happier, who I want to care for and who cares for me. If you’d have told me ten years ago that this is the man I would be today, I would have probably socked that person in the mouth since I wasn’t even out yet. But you…my God…you were worth all the pain I caused myself. I just have to say it again, I love you more than the world.”
Jerome chuckles as Dave pulls away from the kiss and the easy banter flows between them. “Beers and raw meat in this basket. Unless you stole it from some campers. I know you’re smarter then the average bear but geesh.”
Following Dave to the basket he watches as the boy he’s fallen in love with takes charge on yet another amazingly planned event for him. A year ago he never thought he would be the one letting someone take the lead and care for him like Dave has but then again a year ago he also didn’t know David Karofsky.
Glancing out at the sky as they finish their meal Jerome feels a warm hand slip take hold of his own. Listening to Dave as he talks about everything Jerome has done for him, Jerome squeezes the boys hand. Never wanting to let him go. “Shit Dave.. I just… You’re amazing. I love you as much as the world ‘cause you are my world. I’m so glad I found you.” Jerome says pulling Dave into a tight hug, carefully while up so high. Leaning his head on Dave’s shoulder he places a soft kiss against his neck. “You’re an amazing man, David, and I’m glad I could be a part of that. I’d want nothing more in the world then for you to let me continue to try and be everything you want and everything you deserve.”
It's easy enough for Dave to forget about Cooper's butting into his good mood with Jerome by his side. They stay close as they exit the balloon, walking back through the field to the car.
"Okay," Dave says as they click their seat belts. "That was the surprise portion. I already told you about the sports bar, what I didn't tell you about was the jalapeno burger challenge. Eh, you'll see. It's going to be epic."
Dave drives a little more carefully now that rain is starting to set in. He's glad they finished the outdoor portion of the trip before this. Rain might not have made such a romantic and ideal picnic surprise. He's slightly concerned about the possibility of slick roads, but doesn't mind being with Jerome while they mock fight about choosing radio stations.
Dave doesn't notice when they line between the two semis. They're not headed back to Lima, the sport bar is actually close enough to Michigan that they're headed toward Pawnee, not yet. Dave doesn't intend for them to get back until tomorrow at noon at the earliest. He'll probably get crap for missing morning classes, but with Jerome he doesn't care about much.
"Hey, look at that old bridge," Dave points out. It's a skeleton against a shadow gray, but it's quite beautiful inside the pastoral scene. The river beneath it has long since dried up, leaving it suspended a few feet in the air. The river bed runs alongside the highway for awhile and then Dave notices the sign for the upcoming highway bridge and that he's trapped between two semis.
"Ah man, I hate being trapped behind these big trucks. Hey, take a breath. Make a wish. Cross the bridge without letting it go and the wish comes true."
I’m full of surprises. Oddly enough, only you really seem to bring out my old self, a self I’m not really that big a fan of. Wonder why that is? Huh. It’s certainly not because I feel threatened by you. I mean, you’re the most absurdly egotistical person I know and that says a lot. I have to interact with Sue Sylvester on a nearly daily basis.
I’m actually quite threatening. You know how hard I’ve had to work to become something I’m proud of? And to think I’d actually let you, of all people, ruin that because you think you can waltz in and put the moves on everyone and somehow it’ll all still be okay in the morning.
Really? Because, hmm…let’s see, did you actually come back to Lima during Thanksgiving when Blaine was alone during a family holiday because your parents decided they had better places to be? No, you didn’t. You talked a big game post-Thanksgiving but you weren’t there at all for him. That’s not something a brother does. You left him alone. Me and Mike were the ones who came to see him. We were better brothers in that moment and who knows how many other moments. I bet if we were in LA you wouldn’t have even bothered to come see him.
All I know is what I see. Before you, she was great and learning how to be a really good guidance counselor at McKinley. You trashed her, everyone could see it. And now she probably comes crawling back to you and you abuse the hell out of her because she probably worships your body or some shit. It’s unhealthy is what it is and you do more damage to her than anyone I’ve ever met. I’m ashamed for you.
You’re right. Jerome could do a lot better than me. I’ve told him as such. But he chooses me. He always chooses me. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s love. Maybe he’s just stuck on me and how different I am from the boy they all say I was. I dunno- I just know that he loves me and watches Star Wars with me and nobody’s been there for me like him.
Well excuse me for being a hindrance to your gay research. I’d really hate to rock your boat. I’m so very, very sorry about that. Can you feel the sarcasm through the screen?
It didn’t take much to arouse this old personality of yours from its sleep. You obviously didn’t store it far enough back in your mind for it to have any long lasting non-impact in the real world. That’s a ridiculous accusation to make, I haven’t married myself… yet.
I can’t help it if the kid obviously doesn’t want to spend time with me. I’m glad you and Mike were there for him but you’re not better brothers than me. I spent half my life being told by my father how wrong he was, and I managed to get over that. It’s not my fault that I barely know him, I try, okay?
I don’t use Kate. I don’t even see Kate anymore. Ms Walker used me as some personal ‘blow up boyfriend’ until someone who better suited her tastes came along. Then she dumped me over text, found out that guy wasn’t all he seemed, came running back to me and went depressive when I wouldn’t take her back. That’s why she’s so down. Because I don’t trust her anymore. Not because I fuck her whenever I get the chance. It isn’t the best feeling getting used as a sex toy by your best friend, especially when she knows your past and your distrust for women in the first place. Back off, join the weird kid with the ginger afro and get him to teach you how to carry out decent research because clearly your observation skills aren’t up to par.
Right now, you’re not coming across as this ‘changed for the better’ person you advertise yourself as. He still wouldn’t choose you if I was up for offer, but I’ll allow you to be gullible enough to think it. You’re a teenager after all, you’re still under the impression of your first love being forever which, FYI he won’t be.
No, I can’t. You’re acting skills aren’t even good via the internet.
I can't say that I feel as though I have to prove anything to you. Don't you find it odd that you're the only one that I'm acting like this around? Do you think maybe it had something to do with the fact that you butted into a conversation to make overt comments about my boyfriend's adulation of you during my romantic date? You think maybe that's why I'm so angry with you right now?
We barely know anything about each other and I have no desire to continue talking with you if all we're going to do is bitch face at each other. In all honesty, I could care so much less about you except that you are involved in Blaine's life.
I'm not impressed by you, that's the bottom line. I don't think you're nearly as great as most of your fan club does. Do something good. Prove me wrong. Otherwise, we have nothing to say to each other.
Something I wish I could've learned from Eddie Vedder earlier.
Sure, you’re pretty. Why not? Everyone else seems to think so. Sure, maybe you have a great body and a face that makes all the panties drop. Rah for you. I’ve got substance. At least I don’t have to pretend to be other people who’ve actually accomplished shit in their lives to...

Joke’s on you, pretty boy. We bears only get better with age. And it’s kind of a comfort to know you’ll actually reach your forties way before I will. Enjoy the camera when they have to pancake your wrinkly ass with ten pounds of the same shit they used in “On Golden Pond”.
...

At least I don't have to pretend to be other people who've actually accomplished shit in their lives to feel like I'm worth a damn. And drag 18 year olds down to their level, come to think of it.
Unused college fund? What a shock.
You just wish you could sing like the Beast, fucker. Have you ever done any actually honest theater work? You should know your brother is auditioning for Gaston and he killed it because he actually works on that craft you think "is so dead". Well, sweet cheeks, it lives on because there are people like him that help it live.
It seems like you understand a lot of selective words people have been telling you over the years rather than the ones that are fully true.
Look, just because you can't help yourself from humping every little thing that breathes in your general direction doesn't mean that I can't have a best friend who's dating your brother. Where do you get off? You're never even here in Lima long enough to get to know any of Blaine's friends or his boyfriend. I'd imagine in a lot of ways maybe it's better for him since you already abandoned him once. I sure as hell can't imagine why anyone would want to attach themselves to a creep like you.
Blaine doesn't need any of your advice. None of us do. You think all that shit you put Ms. Walker through never made it down the halls of McKinley? How could you be such a scumbag as to do that to her and then proceed to try and seduce my boyfriend even though you're straight and you don't care about anyone but yourself?
Really? Because if you're gonna bring the shit, bring the shit. You bag on Blaine and Kurt and what, somehow Tia is too good for you to bag about? Guess what, sweetheart, so is your brother and his boyfriend. And me. And my boyfriend. And God, maybe all the people in Lima you somehow think you're more privileged then, you twat. Why don't you get a fucking clue? You have the emotional maturity of a teaspoon to back up your zero percent body fat, you poser.
“I just couldn’t help being romantic, I guess. I’m like a teddy bear. No, it’s not Michigan…it’s much more….up than that.”
Dave snorted. “You met him on Christmas Eve. Don’t worry, he wasn’t anything to be jealous of.”
They drove for nearly an hour, Jerome treated to Dave’s...
When the kiss breaks behind the car, Dave laughs a little. "I'm sorry, guess I'm just a little too chick-flick for ya. I suppose we'll skip out on the skipping over to the balloon, then? And no, before you ask, there's no unmanly wine or anything in the picanick basket. Come on, Mr. Masculine."

I'm not skipping school early to celebrate an early Valentines Day with my boyfriend
I’ll take that as a compliment.
Yeah, sure. Better. Like what, your own show as a white collar criminal turned narc? Please, you probably couldn’t carry a show like that for one season.
Yeah, because Blaine’s better than any tv tripe they could throw at him. Unless Joss Whedon wrote it. That would probably be acceptable.
Not the way he calls out my name. He doesn’t even mention you. And no, before you ask, he doesn’t close his eyes.
The compliment of it will soon wear off when you’ve just reached your forty’s and you look about fifty three.
I could so, I could carry a show like that for more than four seasons on my face alone. Clearly, you haven’t witnessed the master at work. You should watch me act sometime or just come to one of my masterclasses. You might pick something up other than looking like a gormless jock with a fetish for a rich brat’s bodyguard.
… I know what Blaine’s capable of, unless he lets me help him flourish though that’s one butterfly that’s going to remain a caterpillar for the rest of his life. Which is really a shame because I would love to see him stick it to my father.
I would rather not have the image of your sweaty carcass suffocating that poor defenceless man. We both know if I were to proposition him for sex, he wouldn’t be saying no. If it ever happens, I’ll make sure you have a front row seat.
Joke's on you, pretty boy. We bears only get better with age. And it's kind of a comfort to know you'll actually reach your forties way before I will. Enjoy the camera when they have to pancake your wrinkly ass with ten pounds of the same shit they used in "On Golden Pond".
I'll pass. I'd imagine your master classes consist of teaching people to shout and point aggressively. I did better acting for my Beauty and the Beast audition than you've done in three years, Mr. Face of Free Credit Report. Gormless? Ooh, I'm so hurt. Did you have to look that one up in the dictionary or did you have a witty PA write it up for you?
Blaine's about ten times the man you'll ever be. And his boyfriend just adds to it. He's allowed to have a dream for himself and I bet he fairs better than the one you've mishandled trying to live.
I won't worry about something that only lives in your twisted psyche, Anderson. Perhaps you can fool Tia and act all sweet around her, but I know the truth about you. You're so petty and jealous of Jerome wanting me while drooling over you that it's pathetic.
I'm not skipping school early to celebrate an early Valentines Day with my boyfriend
Don’t you find talking to an 18 year old like that kind of creepy? Aren’t you like over the hill or something? You’re, I mean you’re fine, but Blaine’s more talented than you. I can actually imagine him doing something better than a sitcom and some sort of CSI mini role, for instance.
Lucky me. I do get to bend him over if I want then.
Not really, I’ve dated my fair share of eighteen year olds and besides you look about ten years older so if I average it out you’re really about… twenty three to the outside eye. No, David, I’m not a teletubbie. I’m going to do something better than that it just takes time. And anyways Blaine doesn’t want to become a mini me, much to my disappointment, so his only success will most likely be on broadway as a munchkin or something.
It’s really too bad that he’s probably imagining it was me.
I'll take that as a compliment.
Yeah, sure. Better. Like what, your own show as a white collar criminal turned narc? Please, you probably couldn't carry a show like that for one season.

Worth It All: Darome
“It’s not a kidnapping plot,” Dave teases as he begins to drive off, radio playing low. “If it were, Roscoe would be in the car. Since I’m in a giving mood, you’ll find I’m happy to provide clues to our destination. And there will be food once we get there. Clue one: A jacket of yours was secreted into my trunk when I received this idea from a friend, a friend with connections.”
Jerome chuckles. “It would be much easier to kidnap me. You wouldn’t even have to blindfold me. You know I’d gladly follow you where. A jacket? We’re not going to Michigan are we? You know how I feel about Michigan this time of year. And I’m nervous that you have friends with connections now.” Jerome says with a nervous excitement. He wasn’t expecting much of anything for Valentine’s Day, really. He’s never actually been with anyone this time of year, but surprising him early with a little something the boy has planned has him wondering what it could be. Dave’s dates have always been exciting, unlike his version of a date. Which includes sitting on the couch and watching hockey.
"I just couldn't help being romantic, I guess. I'm like a teddy bear. No, it's not Michigan...it's much more....up than that."
Dave snorted. "You met him on Christmas Eve. Don't worry, he wasn't anything to be jealous of."
They drove for nearly an hour, Jerome treated to Dave's rendition of "I'll Keep On Loving You" by Reba, with which he sang in perfect pitch and received a clap for. When the car finally stopped, Dave said through a smile, "Okay, blindfold off."
The treat to greet Jerome's eyes was a hot air balloon in the middle of a cow field. Dave got out of the car, popping the trunk so he could grab the picnic basket that Reichen had sent him from New York, filled with all the fancy date food Reichen could have thought of.
Dave looked at the note that said, Good luck, kid! in Reichen's handwriting, and smiled.
Why is everyone talking about Valentine's Day?
You make it sound like everyone is taking their boyfriend out for a suprise because they couldn’t wait.
Whoops…I mean…*cough cough*….I’m sick and not going to make it to my last period today, Mercedes. But don’t worry. I should be completely fine soon.
Daaaave…
Ugh. I’m getting really tired of hearts everywhere and it’s not even the first yet. Though you and Jerome are adorable so I guess I can let it slide. Have fun!
Meeerrrccceeeedeesss....I'm sick and feeble. Be kind.
You sound like Blaine trying to plan a romantic date for Kurt.
We will. I got a deal from Reichen on a hot air balloon picnic and Dad took Roscoe for the night so it's just us!
Why is everyone talking about Valentine's Day?
That shit is two weeks away still.
You make it sound like everyone is taking their boyfriend out for a suprise because they couldn't wait.

Dave
Dave grinned as he watched Jerome bolt from the house. He revved his engine as his boyfriend climbed into the passenger seat. He waited half a second, and before any official greeting, before he grabbed Jerome’s collar and pulled him into a kiss.
When he finally broke it, Dave was beaming brighter than he had ever before. “Sorry, I couldn’t wait. I hope Mr. Motta doesn’t mind me pulling you away from work. I just- yeah. Happy early Valentines Day. There’s a blindfold in the glove box so you can’t figure out where we’re going.”
Going up the stairs to check on Al he grins when he hears a few honks come from outside the house. Jerome wasn’t expecting Dave so soon but seeing as Al is currently still asleep he leaves a note for the man to call Sugar if he needs anything. He wastes no time in bolting down the steps and out the door. Being immediately pulled into a kiss Jerome moves his hand up to grasp the back of Dave’s neck as he returns it with an eager energy.
As Dave pulls away he’s left in a daze but when he sees the smile on his boyfriend’s face he feels an even bigger grin spread across his face. “Blindfolds already, David? You know I like kinky shit but you should at least feed me first.” He jokes as he reaches into the glove box and blindfolds himself with no hesitation. “I love you, but if this is a kidnapping plot make sure the black market organ donors leave my dick. I can live with out a kidney but I need that thing.”
"It's not a kidnapping plot," Dave teases as he begins to drive off, radio playing low. "If it were, Roscoe would be in the car. Haha, older Anderson brother. Haha. I’ll tell him that while we’re on the hot air balloon ride I got us to celebrate Valentines Day.
Older, hotter, more talented Anderson brother, bear cub. A hot air balloon ride, really? I would have just bent him over the kitchen table but to each their own.
Don't you find talking to an 18 year old like that kind of creepy? Aren't you like over the hill or something? You're, I mean you're fine, but Blaine's more talented than you. I can actually imagine him doing something better than a sitcom and some sort of CSI mini role, for instance.

Did I say anything about stopping by the Motta household? We do more things than just touch the no-no places! Promise! We also eat the cookies in the back of your freezer, for instance.
First of all I’m having a super hard time believe that and secondly I’m still going to get you for that. No matter how much fudge you bring me.
Well, I guess when you get home and he's not there, then you'll know I wasn't lying. Really? Cause I can get a lot of fudge. Ms. Berkenson loves Dave Karofsky like a grandson, I'll have you know.
