         🕷That sounded a lot better, the spider knew how it felt to be an orphan or at least till she knew the truth. So long as there was ‘family’ for her it eased the tension off her heart for but a moment. 

              “Lizard…..? Hm. Oh! So you do have a sibling you’re waiting for. Coming back from the city….then again someone has to make the money. For his little sister though…..adorable~” She was mostly talking to herself at this point at the thought of such sibling like love. It was bittersweet. 

              “Strong?” That snapped her out of it,” Are you going to join him in his work? Hm….I hope he keeps a good eye on you the city can be rough…even for adults…” Layla let out a bit of a sigh , she had made a good job out of making Kimono’s and doing small jobs in the Red Light district. Those were no places for children.  🕷

“No, my Big Bro isn’t from the city, he isn’t from Wano at all! He’s a pirate!!!” Tama corrected Layla in a flurry. “He visited years ago, but he said I was too young to go with him and his crew... so I’m training for when he comes back! My Big Bro Ace!”

Beasts? She had a rough idea about whom she was speaking of, considering that this was territory of Beast pirates it was no surprise. However, what  did slightly annoy her was knowing that children this little were struggling. Tottoland in eyes of many was dreamland, to enemies it was a sweet hell but….if one was willing to live and pay a price. Well, they could live a decent life and eat 3 meals a day  minimum.

Mama would most likely hate hearing this, it was only a matter of time when she hears about it. Carefully holding the child Snakeneck woman nods quietly. “Then I thin I saw a small restaurant close by. And if those beasts try something, I will take care of it “

Her expression barely changed as she looks down at girl, her long locks of blue hair gently falling down  her chest. “You may call me Amande…or whatever other nickname you have in mind. What can I call you?”

“You’re like a big sis! Big Sis Amande!” Seems Tama was collecting big bros and big sisses lately. Maybe one day she will have all the Charlotte family on her side- “Oh! I’m Otama! There’s lots of restaurants like that in the towns ran by the pirates, but it’s really expensive... I don’t think I can afford oshiruko...”

Oshiruko, much less other actual meals and good drinking water... Such was the way of the Wano lower class. Ground under the heel by the selfish whims of a cowardly shogun and left to wither away or submit.

   “Somehow I doubt he’ll keep Straw Hat away but at this point I’m willin’ to try anything,” Law says with a heavy sigh, moving closer to Tama and her big furry friend. Despite his desire to just bury his face in that fur and maybe scream a little, Law simply raises a hand. He offers it to Komachiyo to sniff. Tama might be friendly with him but that doesn’t mean he’ll be happy to have Law around. Although, that rejection might hurt him a little.  

“You don’t want Big Bro Luffy around? I can do that...! Even for Komachiyo, he’s way too strong!” Tama continued to pet her companion. Komachiyo looked to be very docile, at least when there was no danger around! Law certainly was no danger to them, and so he sat and ruffed a friendly sound.

Mmm… I think I never tried such a thing…..where can we find ? I’ll escort you there “ she spoke while offering the little girl her lanky hand. Her fingers were slim and long but she knew how to gently hold small children.

Mainly because she had to hold her siblings like that many times whenever they were to rowdy.

Tama allowed the lanky woman to lift her up, although she wasn’t sure where Amande planned to take her. She wasn’t exactly sure how to answer her question... “Well... I guess it could be anywhere where there’s other food. It’s usually hard to get it unless you work with those mean beasts... There’s a monster in Udon who hoards it all to himself too...!”

"O-lin? " the tall woman repeated carefully, did she mean Mama? How was this child related? She didnt seem like a member of the family....but then again Mama was always weak for young children so it was not an odd scenario to imagine for two of them to share a meal.

"I will do so child......pray tell what is this oshiruko? " even if she wouldnt admit, Amande too was soft for small children mainly because of number of young siblings she took care of over the years.

“Olin-chan!! But I guess her real name is Linlin...?” She knew her friend by the former name more. Most people were afraid of that woman, but not her! Tama hadn’t known that Olin’s family was so big either!

“You haven’t had oshiruko yet either? You should try it!” Her face lit up with a dreamy look as she recalled the delectable taste of that heavenly treat. “Olin-chan really enjoyed it, it’s a sweet red bean soup! But... I don’t really have any right now I can give you...”

This was the first time Tama would find herself face to face with the Drought. He really was big and scary... Black Maria was big too, but she didn’t have this intimidating sense to her like Jack did. He clearly appeared to be annoyed already. “Komachiyo is a good boy...”

Her voice was meek. The thought of escaping with him was there, but it was such an impossibly insurmountable task with Jack here. She did her best to keep the lion-faced dog from growling. “It’s usually you guys who cause trouble...”

“Komachiyo is good at guarding people too! He’s the best and he is really soft. I promise, he’s a great friend!” Tama beamed as she patted the massive ‘dog’ besides her. How did a child as small as her come to befriend such a beast? That didn’t matter, he was a kunoichi’s best friend.

      🕷Her enthusiasm showed her dedication to the person she was speaking about. She was a little rough around the edges but so far her stay here in Wano showed that even with how beautiful it was, it was an illusion. Layla was having trouble finding country’s as beautiful as their exterior but it was becoming harder.  

          Adults were easy to deal with and handle but it was the state of the young that upset her. What a vicious cycle for them to grow up in, she took it personally. However, this sweet child’s smile brought her some hope but it didn’t change anything. 

          “So a family member? Or a friend? I’ve been waiting for someone dear myself for a while. It’s sweet of you to wait, I hope they’ll meet you soon its dangerous to be alone out here.” Layla couldn’t help but voice her concerns before her statement shook her a bit. 

          “You’re clearly very strong sweetheart but……” This one hit her heart and pulled tight on the strings. Her own childhood was bubbling to the surface. 🕷  

“I’m not aaall alone. I have Master-sama and Komachiyo!” Although Master was out... she knew he wouldn’t be all too happy to see this woman here anyway. Hopefully he wouldn’t get too mad! He did honk when he was angry which was silly, though... “But everyone else here left a long time ago after this big mean lizard attacked... Still, I gotta wait for my Big Bro! He promised he’d come back, so I gotta be here for when he does!”

The village was already in a deteriorating state, the attack of the X Drake that day only hit the nail in the coffin. Yet, the child remained ever undeterred. “Being out here and training is important too, I told him I’d be strong so I can go with him.”

   🕷Layla always felt awful when it came to harming children but for the most part she wouldn’t. It was just that in her stay in this far away land , like most, she took to every corner she could. She shouldn’t, but that never stopped her. 

       Pushing her grass hat so that her face wasn’t hidden Layla gave a soft smile. At least she was cautious but she cocked an eye. 

       “ Waiting for someone? Hmmm, I think I can understand that. Though I do hope you’ve had something to eat or drink today. Its beautiful out but taking care of yourself would be what your friend would want.” Poor thing hopefully wasn’t waiting to long. The spider knew what it was like to wait for someone dear to her and it could make you do some really crazy things.  🕷

“Someone very very important!!!” It’s been years, but she’s never giving up hope for Big Bro Ace to come back to Wano! At least she had the sense to not do anything too crazy... but sometimes, you have to do terrible things to make ends meet here in Wano.
