It seems like I rarely drive lately (yay for bike commuting), but have to take my son to an appt this afternoon, and was reminded of two pet peeves. 1. All of the drivers who pull up into the crosswalk on at A St & Capitol Pkwy/Normal Blvd. STOP IT. Just 🛑 it! 2) This truck waving the red, white & blue. Sir, I respect your right to patriotism and appreciate your service, but it seems like a driving hazard AND that flag is tattered to shreds! When I pulled up alongside him and noticed his window was down, I couldn’t resist asking him whether he ought to be replacing his damaged flag. He replied, “Oh, yeah, we’ll do that soon.” I gave him a sarcastic thumbs up, and a “yes, you really should,” a disbelieving shake of my head, and rolled my window back up.
