Katerina clutched the walkie talkie tightly as she walked, her eyes shifty and her body tense. She had only been here a few days and was still wary of these people. Stopping abruptly, Kat turned around to face the person who had been following her. "Do you have a problem?" she asked in a hostile voice. "Go away."

Biography:

PRE-OUTBREAK:

Katerina Anderson was born and raised in the small town of Woodbury located in rural area of Georgia. To her, the Anderson family was one of the simple ones— parents, a daughter, a son, and nothing too wild. Since Woodbury was such a small town, the brunette knew every face, every family, and everyone’s business. Let’s just say secrets were never actually kept quiet in Woodbury. Despite everyone knowing each other’s business, the people in Woodbury were a close knitted community, always helping one in need and having community activities like picnics to keep connected. Her whole childhood it seemed as though her older brother was the perfect child, even joining the military when he got old enough to make his father proud, with Katerina being viewed as simply average. Sadly though, even in a small town, tragedies still happened. When Katerina was 10, she lost both of her parents in a fatal car accident. When her older brother Thomas was discharged from his serve overseas to care for his grieving, younger sister, she immediately became frustrated with his baby attitude towards her. After losing her parents, Katerina rebelled against any form of authority in her life whether it was her older brother, a teacher, or a boss. Her teenage years were filled with defiance and her desire to be treated as independent, thinking she knew all there was to know. She developed the whole attitude of “I don’t care what anyone thinks”, along with the unappreciative feeling of hard work.

Of course there came the moment of break in her life. Her hard, outer shell crumbled during her last year of high school when her boyfriend of three years cheated on her with her best friend. Over the years of her brother raising her, their relationship with one another couldn’t be considered close. In fact, she always thought her brother saw her as a nuisance or a responsibility. Though, when Thomas saw his baby sister crying her eyes out over some boy, he didn’t even hesitated to beat the boy’s ass for hurting his sister. The altercation landed Thomas in jail for a night, but it was that night Katerina finally decided to change her ways. She was no longer rebellious and disobedient; instead, she became more interested in her studies and improved her relationship with her brother. During her years in college, she didn’t like to hang around the girls her age since most were still in their “let’s be wild” stage; thus, Katerina hung around with Thomas and his friends; one of his friends she became closer to, in particular, was Phillip Blake.

POST-OUTBREAK:

When the dead started coming back to life, Katerina was thankful she was in Woodbury. The little community rapidly built up a strong wall surrounding the small town to protect it against the outbreak. Since Katerina’s brother was once in the military, he was always picked to go on supply runs and patrol around the wall, while Katerina did everything she could to help the community’s selected leader, The Governor, which was one of Katerina’s and her brother’s good friends. Watching the Governor, or Phillip, take charge and keep all the members of Woodbury safe and sound caused Katerina to develop a new found respect for him for taking on such a huge role. One run to a nearby prison for more ammo ended with Katerina revisiting the pain she had already felt once in her life - losing a loved one. When the Governor took a small group to the prison, he didn’t expect a group to already be there and ambush them. During the run, Katerina’s brother was shot and killed. The pain from the past engulfed her once again.

After losing the last member of her family, Katerina lost a part of herself. She became more in tone with just trying to survive rather than the way she achieved it. The past attutitude of “I don’t care” took over the girl once more. When the Governor told her the group at the prison killed her brother, she promised Phillip she’d help him no matter what. Yet, Katerina ended up wondering the road alone when Rick and Carl stumbled upon on her one night. When she mentioned she was from Woodbury, Rick agreed to let her join their group. Regardless of what Rick or the group knows about Katerina, they don’t know the complete truth. Maybe it has something to do with the walkie-talkie she carries around with her everywhere or maybe it’s just her shady behavior. Regardless, most of the group is weary of Katerina, but Rick still believes she’s a good addition to the group since she did used to be close to the group’s supposed enemy.

[Note: Katerina has not joined the group yet, as the role is taken she will arrive at the prison with only the items in her backpack. She is also a special character within the RP as she’s a spy for the Governor and uses her walkie-talkie to report to him as often as she can.]
