You laugh, so hard it bounces off the walls.
"Really, Rintarou?" You tilt your head, and he smiles in the lazy afterglow. The soft tilt of his lips— that makes your chest ache in the best way possible.
"Don't leave me hanging now?" he jokes, jerking his head to the side with mock concern.
You roll your eyes, a wide grin cracking through your exhaustion. He's unbelievable. But nonetheless, you slap your hand towards him. Your palms connect, slide, and fingers lock together. He pulls your intertwined palms in for a kiss, green eyes waiting for you to do the same.
You lean in, lips gentle against the skin.
This is more than just a hand tap for him; it's a promise. You just don’t know what yet — but it lingers in the air— unspoken but present.
His smirk stretches, brows softening as his thumb strokes the back of your hand.
"Alright" he grunts, pulling you flush against his chest. "Let's get cleaned up"
He kisses your scrunched nose, a satisfied hum rumbling through his ribs.
"Teamwork," you whisper even softer.
You don’t know what he’s promising, but you know he means it.
