Hey, I was just wondering how you made the bracelets, they're so cool and I would love to try my hand at making some myself
Hello! The bracelets are macrame, it’s not too difficult to pick up. I learned from online tutorials, of which there are many you can find!
For the beads:
Cut a strip of paper with the word on the end. Brush glue onto the opposite side of the page, then roll it up with the word facing outward. I used a small knitting needle, you could also use a skewer, the important thing is that it leaves a hole large enough for the bracelet cord to go through. Also, make sure the strips are around the same length for each word so the beads will end up the same size.
Once the glue is dry, coat with clear nail polish and remove from skewer or needle. And you’re done :)
I have a dud copy of Fangirl which I use for craft, so my bracelets are made out of Fangirl pages. You could find a book you’re willing to desecrate in an op shop, but that also means you have to search through the book for the words you want. I’d suggest finding a book that has an e version you can search to make your life a lot easier. Alternatively you can just print your own words onto blank paper which wouldn’t look as cool but would be much easier. Also for the quotes I used not all the words were actually in Fangirl (for example ‘seducing’ and 'crashing’) so I had to cut and stick letters together.
Good luck! let me know if you need me to clarify anything 😊
I’ll probably make a full video tutorial soon.
