My favourite places to eat in London
A friend asked me if I had any suggestions of amazing places to eat during their visit to London and I put together this list. Since I wrote it I figured I might as well share If you’re ever on a holiday there and have saved up some money to spoil yourself. These are some of my favourite places..
The Ledbury
Lovely typically low key but high end British gastropub food in Notting Hill

202
A hybrid restaurant with fashion concept store.
It’s the Hands down my favourite brunch in the universe. Get the french toast. Oder the scrambled eggs to share. OR both. IT’S ASTOUNDING.
They do incredible lunches too.

ON THE SAME STREET IS
Bill Grangers - Granger and Co.
Famous Australian chef doing very simple bistro food but to an incredibly high standard on an amazing lovely part of Notting Hill called Westbourne Grove
http://www.grangerandco.com
Bill is also famous for his eggs - but honestly everything is amazing. Service is a bit casual.
The Wolseley
Do either a ‘high tea’ (amazing posh scones, pastries sandwiches etc) or simply go for breakfast lunch or dinner.
Posh fabulous seriously stiff upper lip proper British food. A haunt of many famous people. Annie Lennox’s favourite place.

The Abbeville Kitchen
It’s a very casual but very modern restaurant that Time Out magazine described as ‘Confident St John-style British cooking with a few other European influences at an understated Clapham eatery.” What that means to me is it’s French / British meat heavy bistro inspired greatness with many many different influences. Be warned there are some very non-vegetarian elements on the menu but incredible vege ones as well. Best desserts in town all made a few stops down at their sister bakery.
It’s ‘south of the river’ but don’t let you put that off. I lived ‘south of the river’ for 5 of the very happiest years of my life and it’s only now this isn’t my ‘hood I’m sharing it publicly. Besides, this restaurant was awarded Time Out’s ‘best neighbourhood restaurant’ award in 2012

The lecture room at Sketch
The most incredible meal I’VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Be warned it’s sort of stuffy and pricey but it’s Michelin starred - completely OVER THE TOP and expensive but an EXTRAORDINARY AFFAIR. One of my favourite ever food experiences. The entire building is an art installation with many rooms and things to see. You pee inside a massive egg for god’s sake. What more could you want?

Hotel Costes Paris

If you have time GO TO PARIS - get on the Eurostar, stay at the Hyatt Madelaine and go to dinner for one night only at Hotel Costes
The sexiest and most incredible place in the world. Seriously.
Really REALLY great coffee - Monmouth Coffee in Covent Garden

MIYAVI from Nov 2013’s EYESCREAM This scan really doesn’t do the picture justice(at all) and I would recommend buying the magazine if you can.
Women.
The foundation of strength of my life.
From my incredible angelic mother to my warrior sister - I’ve had two of the best role models a boy could ever hope for.
From my fiercely independent niece to the definition of integrity that is my ex wife.
Women are the staple of my life.
From my passionate sister in law to my loyal, loving and trustworthy assistant.
Women have been the titanium in my veins.
To every single woman in my audience who stood by me when I came out.
You will never understand how loved I felt when I looked out at a sea of women from the stage who finally saw me as myself and loved me anyway.
You had a choice - you could have been repulsed, you could have been disappointed I was no longer a fantasy boyfriend.
You could have left me on your bedroom walls and moved on with your lives.
But you took me with you and you changed me for the best forever.
If you’re a woman and you’re reading this - you’ve been an essential strut in the spine of my soul and the fabric of my life.
You made me, you supported me, you told me you loved me unconditionally.
You have my love and respect times a hundred billion.
Love you, man.
The Mortal Instruments is hilarious. I haven't laughed that hard since Die Hard 5. It's a Harry Potter-ish Twilight mess with magic, vampires, werewolves, and sprinkles of everything else popular in sci-fi/fantasy - there was an Odin raven, a Matrix oracle, an "I'm your father and she's your sister" moment, a Stargate, a male teen going about their lost love, after a single kiss; plus many many corny lines, my favourite being a pun: "aw, seems you've had a RUFF day" All in all, it's bad enough for me to recommend it to you.
Why didn't Harry accio his broom and fly over the maze?
I feel like micheal cera never intended to act but ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time and was too awkward to tell them he wasn’t an actor so just filmed stuff anyway and now he’s let it go too far and can’t back out
Her reaction is just too precious.
She goes from fearsome warrior to kawaii schoolgirl in 0.1 seconds it’s so fucking cute

Do you know anyone interested?
That moment when you realize The Mask's mask was the Mask of Loki.
Interviewer: On the fanboy boner scale, would you call this film a Half Mast, a Full Chub or a, Dear God I’ve Got a Hammer in my Pants?
Tom, stop talking about boners. Never stop talking about boners.
