âAh, so you were trying to pierce my ego? Katie, Iâm hurt.âÂ
âYou can only pierce someoneâs ego if theyâre wearing it like an armor, Evan. Are you? What are you hiding in there? A tiny little man?â

âAh, so you were trying to pierce my ego? Katie, Iâm hurt.âÂ
âYou can only pierce someoneâs ego if theyâre wearing it like an armor, Evan. Are you? What are you hiding in there? A tiny little man?â
cassandracresswell:
âGood news, better news. Good news is I have the best hot chocolate. Better news, I got a second one for free and that means one to share.â
âI think itâs time I collected on all the hot chocolates I made you when you were five.âÂ
lucydanvers:
âOh Iâm perfectly aware Jethro can be wrong and he sure as fuck shouldnât have gone behind my back butâŠ.â Lucy paused taking a deep breath because the next part meant swallowing her pride and that was hard for her. âI said some pretty fucked up shit to him. I used him as a punching bag for my rage and it wasnât fair.â She admitted out loud. Too bad she couldnât do that with the one person who mattered.Â
âJust wanted to say it. Just wanted you to hear it.â Kate reached out to grab Lucyâs hand, knocking an empty shot glass onto its side. âOh, thatâs a big breakthrough.â When was the last time sheâd heard Lucy admit she was wrong about something? Had they ever even talked about Lucy this much? The woman never stopped being inspiring. âYouâre allowed to do fucked up shit sometimes, thatâs your right as a... werewolf. Besides, the first step is admitting that maybe what you did wasnât fair, and then youâll work your way up to actually talking about why you were wrong and why he was wrong. The two of you are like- when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. But both of you are the immovable object and both of you are the unstoppable force.â

âWell something is working,â Avery replied, nodding her head up towards the lamppost that was still swaying slightly. She knew what it was like to not be able to access your magic. It had only happened to her once in a moment of pure fear, and it had cost her what she thought was her family at the time, and gifted her with a new family that showed her true love. Still, she knew the anger and frustration that it inflicted, and she couldnât imagine what it would be like not being able to access it with seemingly no pressures.Â
âOh.â Kate stopped, dropping her shoulders and turning to the woman. Sheâd expected her burst of frustrated irritation to be met with a raised voice from her companion, but the brunette replied calmly. Kate looked up to the lamppost, which was, in fact, swaying. âI didnât even notice that. Thank you.âÂ
âIâm Kate, by the way. I havenât done this in a while. A decade. Itâs been a slow learning curve.â Not to mention she didnât know if she even wanted to learn.Â
jamesxthatch:
âYou drop off the grid for awhile, and come back to âsexy santaâ contests. Has the world really come to this?â
âIâm sure there were really shallow superlatives handed out in whatever time period youâre from, too,â Kate pointed out. âThis doesnât have to be a âkids these daysâ issue if you donât go out of your way to make it one.â
rafpadilla:
âWho wouldnât in my situation?â He raises a brow, cheeky grin still present. âI havenât gone to the gym in years, full of too many roided assholes. If you want to borrow them to work out you can.â He jokes letting out a chuckle.
âI havenât been alone with children in years, so maybe I just have to bite the bullet and start running miles every morning. Besides, I havenât even really met them yet so that would be strange.âÂ
Her own name sounds like a taunt coming from his lips, and she wants to punch him in the face. Which is both surprising and not, at the same time: people didnât usually get under her skin like this, but Sebastian always has. She reaches out to grab his ear, pulling it down. âTell me why youâre in town, asshole.â
sebastianevermore:
âI know because thereâs no tan line from a wedding ring and you havenât been laid since slice bread was invented.â He tilts his head to the side, smirk ever present. âItâs actually far too common to find a woman in such a situation. Have you ever shopped for clothes anywhere other than Walmart?â
What the fuck. He wasnât wrong, but that didnât mean Kate couldnât hate him for saying it. âSebastian,â she said, leaning closer, âFuck off.â
sebastianevermore:
âOh yes, itâs perfectly fine- For a middle aged mother of four going through a divorce because her husband slept with the babysitter.â The snapping just encouraged him. He liked pushing Kateâs buttons far too much, the simple pleasures in life.Â
âMaybe I am a middle aged mother of four going through a divorce because my husband slept with the babysitter,â Kate told him. âYou donât know my life. And that is very specific insult.â
nathaniel-greyson:
âPlus it goes with a cold day like today. So it is a win, win. I know of place.â He smiled and started to walk towards the cafe down the street.
Someday, maybe, Kate would look back on this day and wonder how in the hell sheâd ended up grabbing a hot chocolate, of all things, with the alpha of all alphas. For now, though, sheâd just keep up with him. âA new place?âÂ
sebastianevermore:
âYouâre no fun, Katherine and your dress sense hasnât improved the slightest. Though I do warn, my version of fun does leave some chaos in itâs wake. Prep a few spare beds at your hospital of fashion travesty just in case.â
She definitely hadnât missed this. Actually, sheâd missed none of it. The smirk tattooed onto his face, that glimmer in his eye broadcasting he was up to no good- Kate hated it. âMy fashion sense is just fine,â she snapped at him. The worst part of this was right now she had no clever quips to throw back at him, but naturally, six hours from now, sheâd think of something.
sebastianevermore:
Dark hues move from the unimpressive nightlife of Hollow Grove to the person he directed his words to. Seeing a familiar face, a smirk plays across his lips. A light chuckle slips free as he adjusts his cufflinks. âWhy of course. Though darling, murder only comes into play if Iâm being paid. Bloodstains outside of cheques are just simply not worth it.â
âOh, well if simple economics is keeping you from terrorizing my hometown, then I guess I have nothing to worry about.â
sebastianevermore:
It has been exactly two months since Sebastianâs last visit to Hollow Grove. Though he does not miss the people, never allowing himself to grow attached to anything but his expensive cars, he has missed the peace. Rich clients being able to slip into his hotel building to bother him had his fuse growing shorter and after dispatching a few husbands he couldnât wait to get away. But with peace came boredom and the witch could feel himself craving a little excitement. âHas the entertainment here improved or is it still as dismal as before?âÂ
For the first thirty seconds, Kate just kept blinking. There was no reason sheâd imagine Sebastian Evermore, of all people, to be in Hollow Grove when he wasnât actually there. And he had every right to be here, but heâd never mentioned knowing about it before. Truthfully, his presence here put her on edge. âIf I say no,â she said, sliding onto the bar stool next to him. âAre you going to start creating your own entertainment? Because murder is generally frowned upon here.â
nathaniel-greyson:
âItâs cold, and everything is all set and ready for Saturday. I donât know about you, but Iâm going to get myself some hot chocolate. You can join me, if you want.â
âOh,â Kate stopped, âUh, sure. A hot chocolate actually sounds nice.â
rafpadilla:
âIâve had both for ten years.â He says it with pride slipping in. He remembers not wanting to spend time in the gym and miss any time with his kids. Bench pressing toddlers which made them giggle was his favourite workout though Micah and Stephanie are too big to do it now. âIâm just going to have to run more, or do more sit ups or something. Iâll let myself get chunky when I reach fifty cause old me will need insulation.â
âNow youâre just bragging,â Kate pointed out. âGod, can we not talk about this? I havenât gone to the gym in so long, and I donât have little kids to run after for my cardio.â
lucydanvers:
âCan you make it four,â Lucy ordered. Right now all she wanted was to get drunk and just forget. Even if just for one night. Her mother had gone off and gotten herself a new family, she had a brother she never knew about, she was fighting with the one person she knew she couldnât live without, and the one person she wanted to talk to about all of this was gone with no way to reach him. âJett wants to see the good things and well⊠you know me.â She shrugged. âI went off on him when I found out he watched the video. I was an ass.âÂ
âLucy-â and Kate clapped her hands over her mouth to stop herself from saying âgooseyâ in the same way sheâd done when she was four years old, âJett isnât always right, you know, everyone canât be their best selves all the time.â Jett Danvers strove to be good, and Kate couldnât always keep up. âI donât think heâs entirely wrong, but I think youâre just being hard on yourself.â Maybe she was just talking crap at this point, but despite how light her mind felt, and her body, everything felt clear. Easy.Â
