He loved her smile - when he was fourteen years old that caused his knees to weaken and for his face to flush as he tried to avoid her eyes so many years ago. Even now her smile was such a distraction. “ I would spoil you with so much more.” He muttered without much thought. She knew - she knew that when she gave him that hopeful expression he could say no to her. Her words made him frown - he couldn’t say no - not to that. “ I’ll stay. just for a moment then.”

Katherine felt her face heat up even just slightly once she heard Aiden’s very straightforward remark, the mere sentence filled with so much sincerity despite the way it flew out of the actor’s mouth. “I know you would.” She couldn’t help but reply softly, watching Aiden as he reluctantly agreed to stay with her. Seeing as the man made no move to sit down, Katherine, although hesitantly, stood up and moved towards him slowly. Unsure of what to exactly say to him, she felt herself wrap her arms around him, hugging him gently as if trying to grasp the situation. She was glad that she was given her own workroom for this project -- it would have probably been bad if any of the staff members witnessed this scene before them. “Tell if me I stepped out of line when I say this...” She murmured into his chest, noting how bigger Aiden seemed now in her arms compared to when they were young teenagers. “I’ve missed you, Aiden...”

“ You’ve always known me the best Katherine.” Aiden said in defeat, a grin appearing on his face as the tension in the room melted slightly. Beside that all that came between them, the times they shared were sweet and she was one of the few who saw his more carefree side. “I’ve always loved your writing, i wasn’t lying back then.” He said bluntly, before faltering in his steps at her calling his name - it was always spell bounding when she said his name. “ I-” He was unsure, it was obvious that he was anxious and unsure if you looked into his eyes, his voice strained as he turned her once more. “ I- I can’t promise to stay professional - and I don’t want to risk it.”

“I can take pride in that.” She matched Aiden’s grin with her own smile, her expression visibly brightening at the familiar sight of his smile. She had missed this familiarity with Aiden, how safe and comfortable she felt whenever she was by his side. And although she admits that she’s probably getting to caught up in the passed, this was a chance she didn’t want to miss taking. “I still think you spoil me with your words.” She spoke modestly, shyly looking down at her drink though her smile still played in her lips. However, at the sound of his uncertainty, Katherine looked up at him -- her expression hopeful on that he stay. “Aiden... Please stay.” She spoke softly, her hands tightening around the can slightly. “You don’t have to stay professional... Not with me.”

“ That really does boost my ego, be careful Katherine, your praise may cause me to get too prideful.” He teased softly before nodding his head at the woman’s words, the young actor then took a small can of coffee from his backpack, placing it onto the table in front of the writer. “It’s not a bad thing, to draw from your past experiences, everyone does it.” Aiden sighed as he shifted his weight from one foot to another, as if getting ready to leave. “ I never said it was only it’s love line, I was just noting it.” He argued before smiling softly to himself. “ It was nice seeing you again, I just wanted to drop by and wish you well.”

“And since when did that ever stop you?” Katherine found herself joking back with a soft laugh though she was quickly cut off by genuine surprise after seeing the older placing a can of coffee in front of her. Murmuring a thank you, she gingerly wrapped her hands around the drink. She stayed quiet for a moment before nodding, her eyes laying on the can while in thought. “Well... I suppose you read into it well. You always did.” She spoke in retreat, signifying that the other’s notation was correct. Hearing the man shift around, Katherine quickly looked back up towards Aiden, noticing how he was preparing to leave. “Aiden--” She spoke as she stood up, almost a bit too sudden. The writer bit her lip briefly before continuing. “Stay... I mean, if you want. We can catch up if you’re not busy.”

“ I’m thankful for the part.” His words were polite as they were short, crossing his arms his kept his eyes on the woman as she began to organize the papers. “ Is that so ? I appreciate the praise - your script flowed well, so anyone reading it could be seen as a good actor.” In his mind, AIden had to stop himself from grinning from Katherine’s praise, deep inside he was still a fourteen year old boy, in love with the idea of the woman before him. “ That’s not really an opiton for me, I’m a professional, what happened between us was long ago, and it seemed to have benefited you seeing how much the the storyline between the colonel and the medic is similar to our past.” Aiden was always a bit too straightforward, but if it was a flaw or an advantage he wasn’t sure as of yet.

A faint smile formed on Katherine’s lips. “More than a hundred actors had auditioned for this role. Out of professionalism, I’m relieved that you were chosen in the end as you were closer candidate to what I had envisioned.” Packing the papers into her messenger bag, the writer couldn’t help but feel a bit glad that Aiden had decided to stay with the project despite their past. However, at his sudden words about the connection between them and her two leads, a soft frown formed. “It is fairly similar to many people.” Katherine commented after forcing herself to clear her throat before speaking. “But of course, the main point of the story is a lot more than the love line.”

“ I should of known you were the screenwriter of this play.” Aiden said with a rather flat tone, leaning against the frame of the door, his eyes glancing towards the woman before him. “ Your writing still has the same overlaying themes in them as when we were younger.” His fingers holding onto the script that the director had given him. “ Then again, it was my fault for not noticing the similarities beforehand.”

“I’m assuming you received the role then.” Her response was brief as she gathered her notes that laid across the table and filed them into one proper stack. “I watched your audition so I can’t say that I’m surprised. It was really good.” Pursing her lips together at his words, she glanced over towards the man at the doorway with a vague expression. “If you don’t feel comfortable working together, you can drop the project. I won’t hold it against you.”
