There's no doubt we'll make it. Skyline to Alta Vista to Pebble Creek.
Hiking down from Pebble Creek Trail. A few igneous rocks in hand and post snowball fight, we navigate through the cloud that shrouds the peak of Mt. Rainier.
The view from Skyline Trail Lookout vs. the view of just reaching the final stretch of Pebble Creek Trail. The class is called "Fire and Ice" and their is no question as to why Mt. Rainier is the perfect specimen to see the relationship between volcanoes and glaciers.
Entering Mt. Rainier National Park October 2014
They process emotions so vividly. I have never been so in love with a creature.
Kat the mahout, sporting his newly designed leaf hat.
One of the monks in a Chiang Mai temple, tattoos and all.

A day of teaching at the Bon Rai Primary School. Just across the way from the Children's Home, we walked to class in the morning with our lesson plans from the evening before. Starting with Kindergarten then third and eighth grade, I came across a variety of young faces. The littlest couldn't seem to sit still while the oldest giggled to themselves while we explained the directions in simple english. This third grade class was the most attentive and enthusiastic. They each had an interest in what we were saying and were very eager to imitate our English perfectly. After an hour of dancing, singing and animal noises we had to say goodbye to my favorite class.
The Doy Liam Village where we worked with the villagers to lay out a safe playground as well as a brand new library for the primary school. I took a morning stroll before breakfast (we had a half hour break from the pouring rain) and came across family homes at the bottom of a very muddy road. Some of these homes had pigs sleeping in the mud, chickens racing beneath our feet and as many as three generations living together.
The dragon guardian of Buddhism. Found in front of many temple entrances and lining the walkways to enlightenment.
When I say I want to travel I don’t mean I want to stay at resorts and go on tours with tour guides or buy key chains from souvenir shops. I don’t want to be a tourist. When I say I want to travel I mean I want to explore another country and become part of it. I want to discover small coffee shops in Germany and Italy and France. I want to walk on beaches in Australia and browse the book stores of England. I want to hike the Great Wall of China and go cliff diving in Hawaii I want to meet people who are not like me, but people who I can like all the same. I want to take pictures of things and places and people I meet. I want my mind to be in constant awe of life on earth. I want to see things with new eyes. I want to look at a map and be able to remember how I was transformed by the places I’ve been to the things I’ve seen and the people I’ve met. I want to come home and realize that I have not come home whole but have left a piece of my heart in each place I have been. This, I think, is what is at the heart of Adventure and this is why I plan on making my life one.
