Layla is a gem.  She’s a fashion student, trans model, and kawaii queen.  I found her on Instagram, sent her an email, and within an hour we had a date for some food and photos at the Kawaii Monster Café in Harajuku.  Coming to Tokyo alone without any connections was daunting, but Layla felt like an instant friend.  I hope I get to visit her rainbow kingdom again soon.

Traffic in San Francisco can be so unpredictable, so in the mornings I often leave for work way too early.  We had an early call time in Bolinas, and I found myself nearly an hour ahead of schedule.  A sunrise hike wasn’t in my plan, but it was such a perfect beginning to a very long day.  I really love Northern California.
