Headcanons. Megumi and Tsumiki.
In all aspects except blood, Megumi and Tsumiki are Satoru's children. He will always introduce them as such and never back from being called their parent, taking immense pride on it, and on them.
Megumi was 5 and Tsumiki 7 when they first met, recently abandoned by her mother and being almost two years since last time they saw Toji. Satoru was barely 18 years old and struggling with personal issues, like his position in his clan and still trying to get to terms with Suguru's betrayal. Although initially he intended to only aid the children financially, his approach was quick to change once meeting them, and finding a purpose in them. He'd fight over the custody with the Zen'in and strike a deal with Naobito with aid from Naoya, and finally legally adopt them when Megumi turned 6.
Little after this, Satoru got disowned by his father. Yaga was the one to help him stand up by himself and teach him what he needed to take care of himself and two small children, even aiding them get a house. From then on, Satoru fully took on a parent role for them, embracing them as his own and doing everything in his power to give them a happy childhood like he did not have. He clinged to them emotionally, seeing them as his new purpose on life as to fill the emotional empty space Suguru left.
Satoru's raising, although well intentioned, might have been questionable in some aspects. Not having had a positive role model through his own childhood, he made a point of doing exactly the opposite of what his own father ever did, doing everything in his power to make them feel loved. Gifts, praises and affection became the standard, getting them anything they wanted no matter how big or small, and he always made sure to keep a cheerful smile as to not let them see any more of the uglyness of the world, no matter what was happening in his life or what he was struggling with, whether be it personal relationships, money, or their diminishing eyesight. No matter how bad they messed up, Satoru never truly scolded or raised his voice at them, instead sitting down with them to discuss things calmly, something that has carried on to this day.
Up to this day, even if they're almost adults, Satoru still considers them his babies. He will pick them up without previous warning to squeeze them in hugs, and ruffle their hair like they were little kids. Having been in a bad mental spot when he met them, he clung to them emotionally for stability, making them his whole world. That exacerbated once Tsumiki fell into a coma and Satoru wasn't able to do anything to help her, as he became fully emotionally dependant on Megumi, unknowingly making him the principal pillar in Satoru's life.
Satoru doesn't use Infinity with Megumi and Tsumiki. He would never reject their touch, a blatant weakness.
Since Satoru is very androgynous and gender non-conforming, when they first met he mostly passed as female due to his way of dressing and long hair. He only moved to a more male presenting style and cut his hair short on recent years.
Young, inexperienced on life, and in need of money to maintain himself and two children, Satoru did accept an offer to model for a more "adult focused" magazine when he was 19, something that lasted for a few months before dropping it. Eventually, along with sorcerer work, he would settle in a respectable second job as a model for female and gender neutral wear, which he still does up to this day.
As the youngest, Megumi was definitely the most spoiled of the kids. However, smart and helpful Tsumiki was definitely the favorite.
Not surprisingly, Satoru was encouraging of Megumi's bully phase, constantly rewarding him for winning fights and taking him to eat to celebrate. He taught him to throw a punch himself.
Although Satoru sees them as his kids, he would never force a children role on them. He understands if they don't see him as their parent, and will not be discouraged by it. He also doesn't particularly mind whether they would prefer to call him either father or mother.
Since they're legally his, if it was something ever brought up he would definitely let them take his last name. He was no particular love for it, but the sole notion of them asking would probably make him cry.
Satoru got a vasectomy in his early twenties, thus Megumi and Tsumiki are truly the only children he will have. Megumi is legally his heir to the Gojo clan in his will, but only if he so desires.
Whenever Satoru was too busy with work, Nanami or Yaga were the usual babysitters. Shoko was only a third option because she let Megumi drink beer once. They're also in that same order in Satoru's will, to take care of the kids if anything ever happens to him.
Satoru's early twenties were actually with more kids than only Megumi and Tsumiki. He made a point of also visiting Maki, Mai, and Noritoshi to keep friendly relationships with their clans and have them befriend each other. He probably took all kids together in playdates a few times, encouraging them to be friends.
