I think, for the first time since 2022, I'm getting Sinatra'd.

DistroKid has gotten back to me saying (in annoyingly vague terms) that something about my cover of Political Science hasn't been approved. The wording of the email implies I've used a Stem or Sample of the original song, which just isn't true, so I'm gonna see what else I can do to get it going, but for now it's stranded in YT/SC/BC Hell.

Got a couple ideas I'm gonna try out. Here's to hopin'.

Jashtober day 7: pride Cw: mention of suicide, the T and F slur, and general bigotry

Why is it a sin to have sloth or pride? 

Why must identity be so suppressed?

Why must the foil to a groom be a bride?

Lately has hate grown and reason regressed? 

They claim to be able to see the truth, 

While their face is wrapped in a burlap bag. 

They love the dark comedy of a noose, 

As long as its tied by a stupid fag. 

They claim to fight for righteousness and good, 

Yet teen death is cheered if they’re a tranny. 

They claim divine light from under their hood. 

The dissonance is truly uncanny. 

They see the nuanced rainbows as a blight. 

They will color the hued world black and white.

Jashtober day 6: Demon

Perhaps others aren’t the problem, it’s you.

Search for patterns in shadow instead of accepting what’s true. 

There’s nothing wrong with my life, it’s the way you yell. 

I’m not doing drugs, your passive aggression is just hell. 

At times you act sweet, but after a while you become bitter. 

Covering your acid in honey shows how gold doesn’t always glitter. 

You repeat the question ad nauseam until I change my mind. 

You ignore your idol's flaws until you’re willingly blind. 

You live in a world of a false, self-constructed hue. 

You eulogize when I listen, but I’ll never be like you.

Jashtober 2024 Day 4: stars

 Isn’t a sunset beautiful? Don’t you find the stars shine brilliantly? 

Aren’t the prose of Shakespeare transcendent? Can’t you find the universal in Beethoven? 

Can I not say your eyes shine like diamonds? Is it hollow to say your voice is sweet and smooth like honey? 

Does the trope diminish all meaning? Is it no longer true if it’s cliche?

Jashtober Day 3: Lipstick. I did a sonnet today. Usually I put 10 syllables in every line of a sonnet, but decided not to this time.

Try to cover your insecurities with lipstick. 

Dress in all the dresses you want, but

Everyone knows you’re a chick with a dipstick. 

Would you prefer to be called a fag or a slut? 

Try to find acceptance in your own community. 

Sanitize your beliefs and self till they must accept you, 

Just to find yourself in the midst of lgb without the t. 

They claim empathy, but it’s do as they say not as they do. 

Return to the coping mechanisms of a kid,

and lock yourself in that lonely head. 

Just don’t fight back, god forbid. 

If it continues this way you’ll be found dead. 

Cry your tears into a river, lake, or flood. 

Is your mouth red because of make-up or blood?

Jashtober 2025: Day 2

Drip, drip, drip. That horrible noise rings in my ears like a taunt or a mocking laugh. What else was I supposed to do? Was I supposed to ignore his words like a coward? Would you ask a person to ignore their burning house? Would you ask a sheep to ignore the wolves hunting it down? Would you ask a planet to ignore the incoming black hole? Would you ask an engineer to ignore a fatal flaw in a machine? Would you ask the world to stop spinning? No–of course not–so why would you ask me to ignore such damning condemnations. Is that redundant? Whatever, who cares. My point is, I had every right to do what I did. Why are you looking at me like that? Do you not believe me? Am I some sort of monster? Do you see my actions as rash, or unnecessary. You don’t know the way he treated me. The things he said to me–sure he may not have directly insulted me–but I could tell what he was meaning with how he said it. I could feel the disdain in his words when he said my name. I could feel the disapproval when he watched me work. I knew I had every reason to do what I did. 

So then why did that drip, drip, drip accuse me like it did. It insulted me with the way it penetrated my ears. He was so filled with utter hatred for me that even his blood was showing a horrid distaste for my existence. It clung to my hands like an accusing presence. The red shine made the thinness of them even more prominent. Even after death he was still insulting my oddities. What a horrible man he was. What a horrible and despicable man he was. No one will miss him. Everyone should be thankful to me for ridding this world of such a monstrous vermin. I’m sure his wife was relieved when she heard the news. I know she was in fact, because as I was pushed–quite rudely and violently–into the police man’s car, I saw her crying tears of joy. Though, the jury didn’t seem as joyous. 

The courtroom was quite imposing, but the worst part was the way the judge slammed his gavel like a drip, drip, drip. I argued my case (quite convincingly) with only myself as my attorney and was sure I had won. Unfortunately for me, the jury seemed to not be convinced. Why wouldn’t they see my perspective? Why wouldn’t they see how I’ve made the world just that much brighter? Perhaps they were blind to the–full and objective–truth (or perhaps they were just as wicked as that man himself). The judge was not much kinder in his ruling. Punishment to the capital degree, or something like that. The chair wasn’t very comfortable–being made of metal after all. I was hit with a sharp pain that coursed and shook throughout my body, before passing out. 

Not sure what happened, but I woke up here, with a maddening drip, drip, drip. Every night, water falls from the tree, tempting me to feel guilty, but I know I’m right. I did nothing wrong; It’s what he deserved. In the time since, my flesh has decomposed away, leaving my skinny hands as barren as ever–yet I know I’m right. I’m not insane, the world is. I’ll never let that dripping win. I’ll never ask for forgiveness, because that would imply my actions were misplaced and I know that’s wrong. So I dare the world to keep that dripping ringing like a metronome in my soul. He was a cruel man that mocked me with his tone. His smile in the morning was simply an outer manifestation for how he was laughing at me.  I’ll never let him win, especially not in dea– hey stranger, why are you backing away.
