Literally just 10 minutes of my girls chilling. No care in the world.
We're celebrating a little something special and I wanted to share the happiness with my girls, so I got them a bunch of fruits to feast on!
They're happy. I'm happy. We're happy. It's one big happy family!
I had it in my mind that I wanted a little special video for Halloween (because I love it) and I would have my girls grazing about, eating some slices of pumpkin to their hearts' content.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn't cooperating. In case you can't hear it, that's the wind in the background. It was SO WINDY that my girls were getting scared by how loud the gusts of wind were. Needless to say, we cut the plan short and brought them back to their house so they can relax and be cozy and warm inside.
And in case you're wondering, pumpkins are safe for guinea pigs to eat. They should only be eaten in small amounts and only once in a while. This is the very first time I have given my girls a pumpkin and with how difficult it was to cut into pieces, I probably won't be giving it to them any time soon. Maybe next year, for another Halloween special.
Quiet time, as all my girls are out and about, eating some kale with each other. Usually, they're running around, taking their food to some area away from the others when they eat, so it's nice having them all eating together like a family.
Anyone who owns guinea pigs know that they tend to DEVOUR food that they love. Well, my girls get so excited about eating their food, that they just eat a little too quickly and end up practically choking on their food. It's a little jarring to hear their little coughing noise, but it's still kinda cute and funny to see them inhale their food.
My girls, fresh from their bath, got a nice little treat: blueberries!
...except they don't seem to be too fond of them! Sure they eat the berries every now and then (it IS food), but it's just not their favorite.
Oh well, lesson learned. On to try other things!
(The newspaper is because their paws are still a little wet and I didn't want dirt to get all over them.)
Some super food for my super girls. It's been a while since they've had some kale in their diet. I felt the need to remedy that.
Three of my girls - Moo Moo, Reese, and Gingy - wanted to be hand-fed instead of eating out of the bowl on their own. And they really wanted to rip those bell peppers out of my hand! Let the tug-of-war begin!
Apologies for the background noise. Some much-needed cleaning of the girls' things was being done. :)
I love the red bell pepper face! It looks like they just ate the blood of their enemies lol. They love it, I love it, everyone loves it! It's the best!
Gingy has perfected the technique for drinking water. Watch and learn!
In my effort to find more greens that my girls will love, we come to mustard greens. And...nope!
I guess I finally found a veggie that my girls aren't totally in love with! It's pretty shocking lol.
(Apologies for the noise in the background. The neighbors were out and about.)
My girls line up in a nice little line to display their eating prowess. Up close and personal.
I just had to give them some more rainbow chard because they clearly love it so much. And I also like it because it's so nice and colorful--breaks up the monotony of nothing but greens.
On top of that, I just absolutely love watching my girls eat. It's so nice and peaceful. I can probably spend hours just watching them munch on veggies!
My girl, Reese, having some alone time with her delicious hay.
At the end of the day, nothing beats some delicious and nutritious hay!
Cucumbers may not be very high in nutritional value, but they're a great snack to have to help ease the summer heat! Yummy!
Up next on my list of new veggies and greens for my girls to try out: rainbow chard. It's packed full of vitamins and minerals, including Vitamin C, to keep my girls healthy and strong.
The consensus: Just look at them! They can't stop eating it!
(Apologies for the background noise. The neighbors were out and about.)
