Tyler had never found in Katherine what so many other did. Maybe part of it was she had caused him to trigger his curse. She put so many things in motion in his life, he hated her. But, he didn’t want to spend this time he had, however long it was, angry or fighting with Katherine. “No, haven’t see Stefan.” He chuckled. “Can’t seem to let that go even 200 years later?” He poked at her.

'ouch, is that what a werewolf biting back feels like?’  katherine responded, feigning offence to his words.  ‘oh come on lockwood, what’s a few deaths and an ancient blood curse between friends?’

The edge in the tone of her voice let him know which of the doppelgangers it was that was in front of him. “Katarina.” He said simply. “I see death has not changed your disposition.” He added. “So, I am guessing you had nothing to do with all of this.” He stated, sliding his hands in his pocket.

the original’s words forced a small laughter from her.  ‘oh elijah, you make me blush.’  the brunette mused, circling him in her heeled leather boots.  ‘how could I, despite being you know, the super bitch that I am, do all this from beyond the grave?’  once more she laughed,  ‘no, this was the work of someone else.  someone who I’m guessing is either really stupid or has something bigger on their agenda.’

Should he simply have made two trips to the bookstore instead of trying to carry everything at once? Yes, but that boat had long since sailed and he was walking back to his apartment with books stacked in his arms so high, he couldn’t quite see over them. At least not until one happened to tumble towards the ground when he had no way of catching it. There were a few choice words of the profanity kind that he wanted to say, but that never made the best impression, instead he caught the eye of someone walking towards him. “Excuse me?” He asked, in the most polite voice he was capable of. “Would you mind picking that up?” Finishing he used his foot to gesture towards the book. “Apparently gravity picked a fight I couldn’t win.”

human watching was fun, there was no two ways about it.  and truthfully since her previous ( and more recent ) stint at humanity, it made katherine have a silent, and extremely deeply buried, empathy towards the defenceless creatures.  her head tilted to the side as this one addressed her, and as a long standing opposer to hard labour ( or any work in the slightest ) she shook her head slowly.  ‘I didn’t drop them.’  she answered, ‘so why should I be the one to pick them up?’

Finding himself on the edge of a very familiar town Elijah couldn’t help but wonder what he was doing there. His last memory was him and Klaus on a bench. He was glad his suit still looked perfect. He adjusted his sleeves, ensuring they were properly situated, before beginning to walk through the familiar streets of the place his family once ruled. If he was back, he wondered who else was too. When he happened upon someone. “Oh Hello.” He said in a way that only Elijah could that sounded inviting yet frightening at the same time.

somewhat enjoying yet another chance at life,  katherine’s step had gained almost a skip to it in the hours since she had experienced her awakening.  it was strange, and undoubtedly would come with dire consequences, but for now at least there was nothing wrong with trying to have a little fun.  her ‘fun’ ( feeding, of course ) was interrupted by an all too familiar tone, forcing her to stop in her tracks.  truthfully at this point katherine did not know how to respond to the voice she recognised.  taking a moment, she turned to him,  rolling her eyes in an over dramatic manner.  ‘oh you’re back too?  and here I was thinking I was special.’

𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝:

Tyler had taken to wandering the streets. He didn’t know who he would find or what was waiting for him around the corner, but seeing as someone had brought him back for a reason, he figured he would at least try and enjoy some of the time while he was there. That was until he ran into someone he had hoped he never would again. There might have been a time where he thought she was someone else, but the look on her face and the way she said his name told him exactly who it was in front of him.

“Katherine Pierce. Who the hell brought you back?” He asked arms crossing his chest.

katherine allowed an amused smile to paint her lips, parting slightly with laughter at his inquisition.  ‘someone very stupid.’  she answered honestly.  death ( real death ) had been somewhat peaceful for katherine.  no running, no hiding, no games, no schemes---- boring, yet peaceful.  upon her revival her first intention had been to locate this person and clutch her hands around their throat, until she realised her strength.  ‘well, I’m not complaining.  they brought me back in my prime so I just need to find something to do...’  a pause.  she wanted to ask about nadia, of course she did, but why would the dog know?  ‘seen stefan around?’ it was a safer option.

── 𝒄𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓 @ofnvghts​ / there was something uniquely boring about a day without scheming, katherine thought to herself.  but here she was, nothing to do.  no salvatores to play with, no elena moping about--- no klaus or elijah (thank god).  what to do, what to do.  ‘eenie, meenie, minie, mo---’ she spoke aloud, plucking a target out of thin air.  ‘sure why not treat myself to an early lunch.’ the brunette said to no one, almost amused at her own tormenting solitude.  casually stealing a tourist map off a nearby stand, kat skipped towards the stranger.  ‘hey, hi. I am so sorry to intrude but you look like a friendly face. I’m new in town and I think I’m lost, could you help me?’

I said I want another drink. god, do I have to do everything myself around here?’ katherine felt a small burst of rage within, the kind a small child might feel when not existing at the centre of attention.  furiously she slid the glass toward the end of the bar where its tender stood, smiling at she heard the smash on the ground. ‘oops. sorry. better clean that up.’
