Tracking Progress

#HurricaneFlu

Only in the second week of my journey and already slacking (typical), but while Hurrican Dorian spared our house (thank goodness) it did bring me the Hurricane Flu. Phase 1: Day 5

Five days in and I am already feeling better. The scale didn’t move much today (just a 0.2 loss from yesterday) but overall I have lost 5.5 pounds since Monday.

Today is Sunday, April 10, which means it’s officially race week! Now ask me if I’m ready…

I am. I’m ready. OK, I’m as ready as I can be with less than six days to go. I know my brother is prepared. He’s been running like a champ and has an amazing pace for his first big race. I’m really proud of him! But it also intimidates me as my average pace is a good 1-2 minutes slower than his. But I’m not going to focus on that! I am going to go out there and do my best and have fun, dammit!

The 10K is up first on Saturday morning. Our original plan was to go full out on the 10K and try to get a good time, then take it easier on 13.1 the next day. So my goal has been to just keep up with my brother for as long as I can so we might at least finish close to each other. Then for the half we can really enjoy it and maybe stop for pictures and such.

Well, my brother changed his mind and informed me about a week ago that he plans to go full force (get it?) for both and he can’t imagine being out on the course for 3 hours. Yikes. My first half time was 3:11:44 and I trained hardcore for that one. I’ve trained the best I can this time around, but we’re talking 19.3 miles in two days. Woah.

Regardless, I am pumped. I am ready to go out there and become one with the Dark Side and kick some ass! Plus, I hear the Dark Side has cookies…
