This is how Goro Takemura looks after you decide to go back to Earth and not join the Secure Your Soul program.
It’s the first ending I got (I went with Arasaka just because I knew Goro commits seppuku in any other ending) and let me tell you it BROKE MY HEART. I’ve been in a million pieces after finishing this game thinking what could have been and holy fuck how I wished there was a way to convince Takemura to leave Arasaka and go with V, become a nomad or something, anything than having him remain Saburo’s slave. Make him see to reason.
I feel like he was intended to have a bigger role in the story, I mean hell there’s even merch with him and he has one of the most fleshed out moments with V (the cat scene) where they talk about his past and his views on life. Which made me think that there was going to be more content with him and maybe even a possible romance (before anyone comes at me saying that he’s too old, Kerry Eurodyne is a romance option and he is 80+?). I felt like there was a very strong connection between V and Takemura in that scene but after that… poof. It felt too abrupt.
It’s such a shame they didn’t expand more on Goro’s story and I’m sure most of you will agree on the fact that it feels like some content regarding him (and a few other characters) has been cut in the final release.
It’s a damn shame and I’m still not over ANY of the endings but the Arasaka one shattered me in pieces and it’s eating me alive not knowing which ending is the cannon one.
Hopefully DLC’s will expand more on this but honestly I don’t see how they could since after every ending there is no free roam anymore.
