Hi! How about a crossover with the Master of the Devil Cult in which Jian Yuelou is the founder of the Jian Order? He gained immortality, left the clan to his son and went to roam the world. During his travels, he met a healer who accidentally became immortal (he helped someone and he thanked him so much). Naturally, they didn't get along at first (canon is canon), and then decided that they had a lot in common. Jian Yuelou had not been in his native order for a very long time. When he returned, he was unpleasantly surprised that his order had changed a lot. His descendant has practically placed power in the hands of his wife, his children are not receiving proper education, and the main student is on the same level as the servants. Jian Yuelou scolds everyone after watching. How will the order continue to develop if its founder has returned, who is damn angry at his descendants? Fortunately for the order, his husband can stop Jian Yuelou when he overreaches.
Vita my dear, it's been so long! I hope you're doing well. And I love this prompt, so I hope I did it justice. This is going to be very long so it's going under the cut
Jiang Yuelou had never been keen on being a sect leader or founder of a sect…he honestly just wanted to travel the world and explore it…but apparently the universe and his parents had other plans for him for one day, when he returned home from his training, he found his parents sitting before another family, a young girl sitting in between them
“Ah, Yuelou-ah. You’re back, good”
Jiang Yuelou frowned
“Father, what is going on?”
Jiang Yuelou’s father motioned to the young woman sitting in front of him
“This is Chu Ran, from one of the neighboring sect. She is going to be your wife”
Jiang Yuelou looked at him in shock
“Wife?!”
He then shook his head
“I didn’t agree to this!”
His father huffed
“It’s not up to you, Yuelou”
He then looked at him
“But it will be good for both of our sects, so you and Chu Ran will be wed by the end of this week”
Jiang Yuelou looked at him in shock
“HA?! But Father—”
“No buts, Jiang Yuelou”
His father then looked at Chu Ran’s parents and smiled
“Shall we give our children a chance to know each other better?”
Chu Ran’s father and mother nodded
“Yes”
The four of them then pushed themselves to their feet and headed out of the house, leaving Chu Ran and Jiang Yuelou alone before Jiang Yuelou looked at Chu Ran accusatorily
“Did you agree to this?”
Chu Ran looked at him before she huffed
“Of course not. You think I want to be married to someone I barely even know?”
Jiang Yuelou hummed
“Well, at least we’re on the same page in that aspect”
Chu Ran hummed
“Yes, I suppose so”
Jiang Yuelou then sat down before her and looked at her curiously
“Do you even want to be married?”
Chu Ran looked at him before she looked away, a light blush on her cheeks
“Yes but…it’s not possible”
Jiang Yuelou frowned
“And why’s that?”
Chu Ran sighed
“Because she’s…a female cultivator”
Jiang Yuelou’s eyes widened in surprise
“Really?”
Chu Ran nodded
“Yes. My parents don’t know but if they did, they would never allow it. They’d do exactly what they’re doing now”
Jiang Yuelou nodded slowly
“I see”
Silence then fell over them before Jiang Yuelou sighed and looked at her
“Well, how about this? Why don’t we “get married” like our parents suggested and when the time is right…we’ll figure out a way for you to be married to the one you truly want to be married to”
Chu Ran looked at him in shock
“Are you sure?”
Jiang Yuelou nodded
“Mm”
Chu Ran shook her head
“I thought you were going to call me a freak or something…or call off this arrangement”
Jiang Yuelou chuckled
“Trust me, I’d like to but…I think doing that might put you in danger”
Chu Ran smiled
“Maybe this arrangement isn’t so bad”
Jiang Yuelou smiled as well
“Maybe so”
Over the next few days, the wedding preparation continued until it was finally time for Jiang Yuelou and Chu Ran to be married
The wedding itself was a grand affair, with people from all different sects coming to celebrate, and after it, Jiang Yuelou and Chu Ran were thoroughly exhausted
Thankfully, everyone decided to leave them alone on their wedding night, allowing them both to breathe before Jiang Yuelou looked at Chu Ran and motioned to the bed
“You take it. I’ll sleep on the floor”
Chu Ran frowned
“Are you sure? Aren’t you worried that someone might come in and figure out that we’re not—”
Jiang Yuelou laughed
“No one here is that stupid; they know better”
Chu Ran nodded
“Right…”
She then yawned
“Well…good night”
She then laid down on the bed and soon was out like a light, making Jiang Yuelou look at her before he laid down on the floor and shut his eyes, letting out a soft sigh
God he was tired
Later that evening, as everyone slept, evil cultivators from another sect came and began slaughtering everyone in the sect, causing Jiang Yuelou to awake with a start before he quickly shot to his feet and shook Chu Ran’s shoulder
“Chu Ran. Wake up!”
Chu Ran sat up with a gasp
“What?”
Jiang Yuelou reached out and took her by the hand
“We need to leave, now”
Chu Ran nodded before they quickly ran out of the room, only to find the entire sect ablaze
“My god”
Jiang Yuelou then gave her hand a tug
“Come on”
Chu Ran nodded before they continued to run through the burning sect, the smell of burning blood and bodies beginning to fill the air and their noses as they ran, only to be stopped by a group of the cultivators
“Shit”
Jiang Yuelou then quickly looked around before he let go of Chu Ran’s hand and gave her a shove
“Run!”
Chu Ran nodded and took off running, causing a few of the cultivators to run after her as Jiang Yuelou looked at the remaining cultivators before him
They then stared at each other for a moment before the cultivators rushed at Jiang Yuelou, Jiang Yuelou quickly blocking their attacks before he threw out a hand and sent the cultivators flying into a nearby burning building
Once he threw them into the fire, he looked around at his burning clan before his eyes widened
“Chu Ran! Chu Ran!”
He then began to run through the clan, searching high and low until he noticed something in the water, making him run over to see Chu Ran desperately treading water
“Chu Ran!”
He then ran over to edge of the dock and held out his hand
“Take my hand”
Chu Ran nodded weakly and slowly swam over to him before she reached out and took his hand, Jiang Yuelou helping her back up onto the dock before he pulled her close and held her
“I’ve got you”
They then stayed like that for a moment and just watched as the clan burned before Chu Ran let out a shuddering breath.
“What are we going to do now?”
Jiang Yuelou sighed heavily
“The only thing we can do…rebuild”
Over the next few months, Jiang Yuelou and Chu Ran rebuilt the clan little by little and as they rebuilt, people from around the world whose clans had also been destroyed by the evil clan came to not only help but to also potentially find a new home
Jiang Yuelou and Chu Ran, of course, weren’t going to turn anyone away and welcomed them all with open arms, the clan soon back to its original strength
Of course, because Jiang Yuelou was the “heir” of the sect, that made him the sect leader, but he didn’t know how to lead…he was still very young after all
However, he had a whole clan of people looking up to him…so he had to learn, rather on the fly, how to be a sect leader
Thankfully, he had Chu Ran by his side to help him, as she seemed to understand the politics and the responsibilities that came with the position
“Why don’t you become sect leader?”
Chu Ran looked at him in shock before she laughed
“No one would accept me as one”
Jiang Yuelou frowned
“You don’t know that”
Chu Ran nodded
“I do. A lot of the refugees that came to join us are from the older generation…they still believe that a man should be a sect leader, not a woman, even if the woman is more qualified”
Jiang Yuelou made a face
“That’s stupid”
Chu Ran chuckled
“I agree but this is the world we live in”
Jiang Yuelou hummed before he looked at her
“Do you miss her?”
Chu Ran looked at him in confusion
“Miss who?”
Jiang Yuelou smiled slightly
“Your cultivator”
Chu Ran blinked before she lowered her gaze and looked away
“Every day”
Jiang Yuelou crossed his arms
“Why don’t you go and see her?”
Chu Ran looked at him before she shook her head
“I can’t”
Jiang Yuelou frowned
“Why not?”
Chu Ran smiled weakly
“Because I don’t know if she’s moved on…I haven’t but maybe she has and…and I don’t know if I can face her if she has. It’ll break my heart”
Jiang Yuelou looked at her thoughtfully
“But what if she hasn’t moved on?”
Chu Ran shook her head
“You don’t know that”
Jiang Yuelou gave her a look
“Neither do you”
Chu Ran was quiet before she smiled sadly
“Well…if I leave and I find that she hasn’t moved on…I might not come back”
Jiang Yuelou hummed
“And that would be a problem for our sect, since we constantly keep getting asked when we’re going to have children”
Chu Ran laughed
“Yeah”
She then smiled softly
“It’s alright. I’m happy here. I don’t need to go chasing a fantasy”
Jiang Yuelou frowned
“But are you? You really don’t want to see her?”
Chu Ran frowned
“Why do you ask?”
Jiang Yuelou shrugged
“I’m just wondering. Because if you do…we’re going to need a plan”
Chu Ran raised an eyebrow
“A plan?”
Jiang Yuelou nodded
“For you to go and see her. And be happy. Because while I’m sure you are happy…you’re not as happy as you could be”
Chu Ran looked at him in surprise
“You’d really do this for me?”
Jiang Yuelou nodded
“Of course I would”
Chu Ran smiled
“You’re too kind”
Jiang Yuelou barked out a laugh
“I don’t know about that…but I don’t like seeing a friend unhappy, so it’s the least I could do”
Chu Ran smiled before she crossed her arms
“What do you have in mind?”
A few days later, as Jiang Yuelou made his way through his sect, a few members walked over to him, a look of concern on their faces
“Sect Leader, we haven’t seen your wife in a few days…is everything alright?”
Jiang Yuelou smiled slightly and nodded
“Oh, yes. She just hasn’t been feeling too well recently. She’ll be alright”
One of the members nodded
“Well that’s good to hear…it’d be terrible if she was too ill for you two to have children…you are both at that age, you know”
Jiang Yuelou smiled thinly
“We are…thank you for reminding me”
He then quickly turned and headed home, stepping inside to find Chu Ran packing a small bag
“Almost ready to go?”
Chu Ran glanced over at him and nodded
“I think so”
She then frowned
“Is this really a good idea? Are you sure no one will see through this plan?”
Jiang Yuelou waved his hand
“Don’t worry. Everything will be fine”
Chu Ran nodded
“Alright”
Later that evening, as the entire sect, Jiang Yuelou suddenly rushed out of his house and looked around with wide eyes
“Please, someone! Get the healers! Chu Ran, she—”
At his shout, a few disciples came running, their eyes wide in concern
“Sect leader, what—”
“Get the healers! Now!”
The disciples nodded and quickly turned, running to the healer as Jiang Yuelou turned and headed back inside, walking over to where Chu Ran was lying on her bed, a sheen of sweat on her forehead as she gasped and struggled to breathe
At the sight of her like that, Jiang Yuelou quietly knelt down beside her and placed two fingers to her pulse point, a small frown on his face before he looked over at her and reached out, gently petting her hair
“Soon. It’ll all be over soon”
A little while later, the healer arrived and did everything that they could, but in the end, Chu Ran’s illness was too strong, and she ended up succumbing to it
The healer then looked over at Jiang Yuelou and shook his head
“I’m sorry, Sect Leader”
Jiang Yuelou was quiet before he lowered his gaze and nodded
“Thank you for trying”
A few days later, a funeral was held for Chu Ran, with everyone coming to pay their respects to her coffin and to Jiang Yuelou
The funeral lasted for hours, and well into the evening before everyone had come and paid their respects
“Sect Leader, shouldn’t you rest? You haven’t left Lady Chu’s side since her passing”
Jiang Yuelou shook his head
“I’m alright. Just…leave me”
The guards and disciples nodded before they turned and walked away, Jiang Yuelou waiting for all of them to leave before he walked over to the coffin and pushed the cover aside, Chu Ran immediately sitting up with a gasp
“I never want to do something like that again”
Jiang Yuelou laughed softly as he held out his hand
“Hopefully you won’t have to”
Chu Ran laughed and nodded as she took his hand and allowed him to help her out of the coffin, Jiang Yuelou looking at her fondly
“Go. Be happy”
Chu Ran flashed him a small smile in return
“I hope you find your happiness too”
She then drew him into a hug and gave him a squeeze before she pulled away and pressed a kiss to his cheek
“Goodbye, Jiang Yuelou”
She then turned and quietly slipped away, like a ghost in the night, as Jiang Yuelou watched with a small smile
“Goodbye…Chu Ran”
Over the next few days, after Chu Ran’s “death”, Jiang Yuelou played the part of a depressed husband, barely eating or drinking anything and even barely leaving the house save for important meetings but even then, he couldn’t really be “bothered” to go to those
The members of his sect, of course, were getting worried that he was going to waste away and potentially “join” Chu Ran in the afterlife, so they quickly began to beg him to at least eat a little and take a walk every now and then
So, Jiang Yuelou did, and during one of his walks, he stumbled across a baby wrapped in a cloth next to a bunch of woven baskets, making his eyes widen in surprise before he quickly reached out and scooped them into his arms, holding them close before he turned and headed back to his house, his guards looking at him in surprise
“Lord Jiang, who—”
“I found them, abandoned. So I am going to raise them as my own”
The guards nodded
“Of course sir”
Over the course of the next decade or so, Jiang Yuelou raised the child, a son he named Jiang Fengmian, and taught him everything he need to know from cultivation to learning how to run a sect, just like his father had taught him before
Then, once Jiang Yuelou decided that Jiang Fengmian was ready and could take over the sect, he packed up his things and began to travel the world, just like what he told Chu Ran he would do when he got older
At first, his travels were amazing, as he was traveling the world, but after a while, they started to become boring, making him wish that something interesting would happen
Then one day, while he was out on his travels, a little girl ran over to him and clung to him, making him look at her in confusion
“What are you—”
“Help me. Please”
Jiang Yuelou frowned but said nothing just as a group of people came running over to them, knives and swords in their hands
“Friends of yours?”
The little girl shook her head as she clung to him
“I…I don’t know them. My gege and I were just traveling when these people came out of nowhere…my gege told me to run so I ran and then I…I ran into you”
She then looked up at him with big brown eyes
“Please, help me”
Jiang Yuelou was quiet before he sighed and grabbed the girl, pulling her behind him
“Get behind me”
He then looked at the men rushing towards them and began to whistle, black smoke beginning to swirl around him as hands burst out of the ground and grabbed at the men’s ankles, making all of them scream and shout in fear as Jiang Yuelou continued to whistle, his eyes glowing red as he watched the hands drag the attackers underground
Once the attackers were gone, Jiang Yuelou shut his eyes and let out a heavy sigh before he turned and looked down at the little girl, who was looking up at him with wide eyes
“Are you alright?”
The little girl nodded before she looked at him curiously
“How did you do that?”
Jiang Yuelou smiled
“Cultivation”
The girl frowned
“Cultivation? I’ve never seen a cultivation technique like that”
Jiang Yuelou chuckled
“That’s cuz I invented it”
He then held out his hand
“Come on, let’s go and try and find your brother”
The little girl nodded and took his hand before they began walking in the direction the little girl had run from, both of them barely even getting a few steps before a bladed fan suddenly came flying towards them, making Jiang Yuelou look up before he quickly grabbed the girl and pulled her out of the way as a figure dressed in all white came rushing towards them, their eyes hard
As the man got closer, Jiang Yuelou’s eyes flashed and he began to whistle, black smoke beginning to surround him just as the little girl grabbed him by the sleeve
“Mister, no! That’s my gege!”
Jiang Yuelou stopped and quickly glanced down at her before he glanced back just in time to see the little girl’s brother coming straight for him again, making him quickly block the attack before they began sparing, both men matching each other’s strength before they flew apart and glared at each other
“What are you doing with my sister?”
Jiang Yuelou huffed
“I’m the one who saved her”
The man paused before he glanced over at the little girl
“Is this true?”
The little girl nodded vigorously
“Yes gege”
The man hummed before he looked at Jiang Yuelou and bowed
“Thank you for saving her”
Jiang Yuelou hummed
“Sure”
He then crossed his arms
“Your name?”
The young man looked at him before he dipped his head
“Chen Yuzhi. And you?”
“Jiang Yuelou”
Chen Yuzhi dipped his head again
“Nice to meet you. And thank you again”
He then walked over to the little girl and took her by the hand
“Come on, sweetheart. Let’s get going”
The little girl nodded as they began walking away when the little girl stopped and turned to look at Jiang Yuelou
“Would you like to come with us, gege?”
Jiang Yuelou paused and looked at her in shock just as Chen Yuzhi shook his head
“He’s probably busy, A-Ying”
The little girl, Keying, hummed and nodded before she looked at Jiang Yuelou and waved
“Bye gege”
Jiang Yuelou dipped his head
“Goodbye”
He then watched them walk away before he turned and began on his way again when a scream echoed through the air, making him spin around to see Keying clinging to Chen Yuzhi as the young man fought off fierce corpses
At the sight of the fierce corpses, Jiang Yuelou’s eyes widened and he quickly took off towards them, his eyes glowing red as he began to whistle, the fierce corpses stiffening at the sound
Once he was close enough, Jiang Yuelou glanced over at Chen Yuzhi, who looked at him with wide eyes, and nodded, Chen Yuzhi nodding in reply before he took his fan and began hacking and slashing at the fierce corpses until all of the corpses were nothing but corpses again
After they had vanquished the fierce corpses, Chen Yuzhi looked at Jiang Yuelou curiously
“How did you…stop them?”
Jiang Yuelou hummed
“With my cultivation technique”
Chen Yuzhi frowned
“What technique?”
Jiang Yuelou smiled
“It’s a secret”
He then looked at Keying and chuckled softly
“Looks like I’ll be taking you up on your offer”
Keying looked at him with wide eyes
“Really?”
Jiang Yuelou shrugged
“If your brother’s alright with it”
Keying looked over at Chen Yuzhi expectantly
“Please gege?”
Chen Yuzhi was quiet and glanced at Jiang Yuelou before he sighed heavily
“I…suppose”
Keying cheered and Jiang Yuelou smiled before he looked at Chen Yuzhi and smirked
“Don’t worry, I’ll keep you both safe”
Chen Yuzhi huffed
“I can keep us both safe, thank you very much”
He then looked away
“But some extra help is appreciated”
Jiang Yuelou smiled and nodded before he motioned to the path before them
“Lead the way”
Later that evening, when they arrived at a small town with an inn, Jiang Yuelou, Chen Yuzhi, and Keying all got a room before Keying promptly collapsed on the bed and fell asleep, as she wasn’t used to traveling such distance
Once she was asleep, Chen Yuzhi looked at Jiang Yuelou curiously
“So this technique of yours…what’s it called?”
Jiang Yuelou looked at him before he crossed his arms
“Why do you want to know?”
Chen Yuzhi shrugged
“I’m curious, that’s all”
Jiang Yuelou hummed
“It’s called Demonic Cultivation”
Chen Yuzhi frowned
“I’ve never heard of it”
Jiang Yuelou chuckled
“That’s because I invented it”
Chen Yuzhi tilted his head
“How does it work?”
Jiang Yuelou sighed
“It manipulates resentful energy given off of resentful corpses. It doesn’t require a golden core but since I have one, it doesn’t take quite a toll on my body”
Chen Yuzhi hummed
“I see”
He then looked at him
“Thank you…for saving us again”
Jiang Yuelou shrugged
“No problem”
Chen Yuzhi then dipped his head
“Well…good night”
He then walked over to where Keying was sleeping and laid down beside her, also falling asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow
As the two siblings slept, Jiang Yuelou watched them for a little while before he leaned his head against the wall he was sitting against and shut his eyes, soon falling asleep
The next morning, after a good night’s rest, Chen Yuzhi, Jiang Yuelou, and Keying got up and began their travels again, a comfortable silence between the three of them before Jiang Yuelou looked over at Chen Yuzhi curiously
“Where are you traveling now?”
Chen Yuzhi shrugged
“Wherever. We have no set place or destination. We’re just…traveling”
Jiang Yuelou hummed
“Then do you mind if I…travel alongside you?”
Chen Yuzhi looked at him and smiled softly before he shook his head
“Not at all”
Over the next few years, Chen Yuzhi, Keying, and Jiang Yuelou traveled together with no set destination in mind, and soon those few years turned into decades, then into centuries with no sign of aging for any of them
Then one day, as they were traveling, Jiang Yuelou hummed thoughtfully
“I wonder how Chu Ran is doing”
Chen Yuzhi looked at him curiously
“Chu Ran?”
Jiang Yuelou nodded
“My friend. I haven’t seen her in a while and I’m just wondering if she’s alright”
Chen Yuzhi frowned
“Do you…think she’s still—”
Jiang Yuelou was quiet before he shook his head
“I don’t know”
He then turned to look at him and smiled slightly
“But it can’t hurt to find out, right?”
Chen Yuzhi nodded
“Mm”
After that, Jiang Yuelou, Chen Yuzhi, and Keying traveled to Chu Ran’s old sect and when they arrived, Jiang Yuelou smiled at the sight of the bustling sect before them
“Seems they’re doing well”
They then stepped into the sect and began to walk around, just taking in the sights of the sect, when a “Jiang Yuelou?” rang out, making Jiang Yuelou, Chen Yuzhi, and Keying turn to see two older women with long hair streaked with gray standing a little ways away from them
Jiang Yuelou smiled
“Chu Ran”
Chu Ran then slowly made her way over to them before she reached out and pulled Jiang Yuelou into a tight hug, hugging him tightly before she pulled away and looked him over
“Look at you! You haven’t changed at all!”
Jiang Yuelou chuckled
“And you’ve gotten older”
Chu Ran huffed
“That’s what happens when you age. Which clearly you haven’t”
Jiang Yuelou smiled
“Clearly”
Just then, the woman walked over to them and smiled
“You must be Jiang Yuelou”
Jiang Yuelou looked at her and nodded
“I am”
The woman smiled
“Chu Ran’s told me so much about you. I’m Zhong Yiren, her wife”
Jiang Yuelou smiled
“Nice to meet you”
Chu Ran then looked over at Chen Yuzhi and Keying for a moment before she looked at Jiang Yuelou and raised an eyebrow, a knowing smile on her face
Jiang Yuelou huffed
“Wipe that smile off your face”
Chu Ran grinned as Jiang Yuelou looked over at Chen Yuzhi and Keying, motioning them over
“Chu Ran, this is Chen Yuzhi and his little sister, Keying”
Chu Ran smiled
“Nice to meet you”
Chen Yuzhi dipped his head
“The pleasure is all mine”
Chu Ran then looked at Jiang Yuelou
“You three must have traveled far, please, stay the evening”
Jiang Yuelou quickly shook his head
“Oh, no, we don’t want to impose—”
Zhong Yiren looked at him in the eyes
“We insist”
Jiang Yuelou was quiet before he looked over at Chen Yuzhi, who chuckled, and sighed softly
“Fine”
Chu Ran smiled
“Wonderful”
She then reached out and took him by the arm as Zhong Yiren reached out and did the same to Chen Yuzhi, both women guiding them through the sect before Chu Ran looked over at Jiang Yuelou curiously
“So…”
Jiang Yuelou raised an eyebrow
“So what?”
Chu Ran smiled
“How did you two meet?”
Jiang Yuelou huffed
“Well aren’t you nosy?”
Chu Ran grinned
“I haven’t had good gossip in over a century, of course I am. Now answer my question”
Jiang Yuelou rolled his eyes before he sighed
“I saved him and his sister from some thugs and furious corpses”
Chu Ran smiled
“Well, aren’t you mister knight in shining armor?”
Jiang Yuelou rolled his eyes again and gently nudge her before he motioned to Zhong Yiren and raised an eyebrow
“Is she the cultivator you were telling me about?”
Chu Ran nodded
“Mmhm”
She then looked at him with glassy eyes
“Did you know that she never moved on? That she waited for me?”
Jiang Yuelou smiled
“And to think you were willing to give all of this up just because you were worried that she had”
Chu Ran huffed
“Oh hush”
She then looked back at Chen Yuzhi and hummed
“He’s cute”
She then looked at Jiang Yuelou and pointed a finger at him
“Don’t break his heart”
Jiang Yuelou’s eyes widened in shock
“How can I break it if I don’t even have it?”
Chu Ran smiled
“You’d be surprised”
She then gave his arm a tug as they continued towards the house and once they arrived, Zhong Yiren and Chu Ran quickly sat them down and served them tea before they sat down, Chu Ran looking at Jiang Yuelou curiously
“So, how’s the sect doing?”
Chen Yuzhi looked over at him in surprise
“Sect?”
Chu Ran looked back at him in shock
“He never told you? He used to be a sect leader”
Chen Yuzhi hummed and shook his head
“No, he never said”
Jiang Yuelou sighed heavily
“I don’t know how the sect is, I left the boy I found after you “died” in charge once he was old enough”
Chu Ran looked at him curiously
“Boy you found?”
Jiang Yuelou nodded
“After you died, I had to act depressed and then one day when I was out walking, I found a baby abandoned and I couldn’t just…leave him, so I adopted him and called him my “son”. I then raised him and once he was old enough, I left him in charge of the sect”
Chu Ran and Chen Yuzhi nodded slowly before Chen Yuzhi looked between Jiang Yuelou and Chu Ran
“Forgive me but…are you two still…married?”
Jiang Yuelou and Chu Ran looked back at him before they both smiled and shook their heads
“No, seeing as we really didn’t…register our marriage”
Chen Yuzhi blinked before he blushed and lowered his gaze
“Oh”
Chu Ran then looked over at Jiang Yuelou and smirked, making Jiang Yuelou shoot her a look before he looked over at Chen Yuzhi and tilted his head
“Would you…like to visit my old sect with me?”
Chen Yuzhi looked at him in surprise before he smiled slightly and nodded
“I would be honored”
Jiang Yuelou then looked over at Keying and smiled
“What do you say, kiddo?”
Keying nodded vigorously, making Chu Ran, Zhong Yiren, Chen Yuzhi, and Jiang Yuelou laugh
“Alright then”
A few days later, after spending some time with Chu Ran and Zhong Yiren to catch up, Chen Yuzhi, Jiang Yuelou, and Keying began their journey to Jiang Yuelou’s sect
As they made their way towards the sect, Jiang Yuelou looked over at Chen Yuzhi curiously
“You know, I know the reason for why I don’t look a day over twenty-nine but why are you and Keying so young?”
Chen Yuzhi blinked before he laughed and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly
“Oh, I um…when I was treating someone years ago, they uh…offered to bless me and my family”
Jiang Yuelou hummed
“So they blessed you…with immortality?”
Chen Yuzhi shrugged
“I guess so”
He then smiled and shook his head
“I don’t mind…by being immortal; it allows me to help people, which makes me happy”
Jiang Yuelou nodded
“That’s good…gives you a purpose and doesn’t allow you to succumb to boredom”
Chen Yuzhi looked at him curiously
“How are you able to stay so young? Your…cultivation technique?”
Jiang Yuelou shook his head
“I don’t know…you’d think that with siphoning demonic and negative energy from those corpses…it would have a negative effect on my body”
Chen Yuzhi shrugged
“Everyone’s cultivation technique is different…you just must be a particularly strong cultivator”
Jiang Yuelou smirked
“Thanks”
He then looked him up and down, his smirk growing wider
“You’re not too bad yourself”
Chen Yuzhi blinked before he blushed deeply and looked away
“Thank you”
Soon, the three of them arrived at the sect, Chen Yuzhi’s eyes wide in surprise
“Oh my…it’s beautiful”
Jiang Yuelou smiled
“Thank you. Chu Ran and I rebuilt it from the ground up after it was burnt to the ground by an evil sect”
Chen Yuzhi looked over at him in surprise
“Really?”
Jiang Yuelou nodded
“Mm”
They then entered the sect and began to walk around, a small frown on Jiang Yuelou’s face
“Something’s not right”
Chen Yuzhi frowned
“What?”
Jiang Yuelou shook his head
“Nothing, it’s just…the sect seems to be prospering but…everyone feels more…tense”
Chen Yuzhi hummed and nodded
“Yes…I feel that now too”
Jiang Yuelou then motioned them along
“Come on”
They then headed to the main hall and stepped inside, just in time to catch a young man dressed in red and black robes as he flew across the hall after being whipped by a purple electric whip wielded by a rather scary looking woman dressed in purple
As they caught the young man and lowered him to the ground, Chen Yuzhi quickly began to look him over as the woman in purple glowered at them
“Who are you? What are you doing?”
She then noticed Chen Yuzhi checking the young man over, causing her eyes to widen before she raised her whip and lashed out towards him, making Keying shriek and Chen Yuzhi look up with wide eyes just as Jiang Yuelou reached out and grabbed the whip, his eyes beginning to glow red
“If you so much as touch them, I will rip you limb from limb without even lifting a finger”
The woman and the others looked at him in shock just as an older man dressed in purple looked at him with wide eyes
“Father?”
Jiang Yuelou turned and narrowed his eyes
“Fengmian. What is the meaning of this?”
The man, Jiang Fengmian, shook his head just as the woman looked at him in confusion
“Father? What are you talking about?”
Jiang Fengmian looked over at her before he motioned to Jiang Yuelou
“This is my father”
Jiang Yuelou straightened up, his eyes still glowing red
“And founder of this clan”
The woman’s eyes widened and her mouth fell open in shock just as Jiang Yuelou yanked the whip out of her hand and dropped it to the flower beside him, letting out a soft huff
“Now, kindly explain as to why you just nearly whipped this young man in half”
The woman, Madam Yu, huffed and pointed to the young man that Chen Yuzhi was still looking over
“That…brat, is trying to take over my rightful son’s place in this clan…and trying to prove himself as the superior cultivator!”
The young man dressed in black shook his head
“I’m not! I’m not trying to overshadow A-Cheng!”
The young man in purple robes nodded
“It’s not his fault, mother!”
Madam Yu turned and slapped him across the face
“Silence!”
Just then, the ground began to tremble beneath their feet, making everyone look at Jiang Yuelou to see shadows surrounding him, the purple whip now crackling and glowing bright red in his hands
“Hit your son again, I dare you”
Madam Yu looked at him with wide eyes and took a fearful step back as Jiang Yuelou grinned darkly
“Not so strong now that you don’t have your whip, huh?”
Madam Yu gulped and took another step back just as Keying rushed over to Jiang Yuelou and made to reach out towards his robes when the shadows suddenly burned her hand, making her yelp in pain
At her yelp, Jiang Yuelou’s eyes widened and he turned to look at her before he quickly waved away the shadows and knelt down in front of her, placing the whip down beside him
“A-Ying. I’m sorry, are you hurt? Let me see”
He then reached out and gently took her hand in his, looking it over
“Huh…I’ve never had my cultivation do something like this before”
He then looked at Keying in concern
“Are you alright?”
Keying nodded
“I’m okay…my hand just stings”
Jiang Yuelou shook his head
“I’m sorry”
He then leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to her palm, making Keying giggle just as she noticed Madam Yu rushing towards them, causing her eyes to widen before she pointed towards the woman
“Gege!”
Jiang Yuelou’s eyes flashed and he quickly whipped his head over towards Madam Yu before he let out a sharp whistle, shadow-like tendrils immediately surrounding himself and Keying as one of the tendrils smacked Madam Yu away from them
“Rude to attack an opponent when he’s distracted, especially by his own child”
He then pushed himself to his feet and crossed his arms, Keying clinging to his robes as he looked at his son, his daughter in law, and his grandchildren
“Now what started this whole thing anyways?”
Madam Yu opened her mouth to respond when Jiang Yuelou shot her a glare
“Not you”
He then looked at the young man in purple
“You. What started this?”
The young man, Jiang Cheng, gulped before he cleared his throat
“Um…I wanted to go to Gusu Lan to learn cultivation there, as they are putting on a school for all new cultivators and wanted to bring my sister and brother along. But…my mother only wanted me to go because she said my sister is too weak and my brother…does not need to know cultivation, as he’s…”
Madam Yu shot him a glare
“Do not—”
Chen Yuzhi glared at her
“Silence”
Madam Yu flinched and fell silent as the young man dressed in back, Wei Wuxian, huffed
“She thinks of me as nothing more than a disciple, someone not worthy of learning cultivation, as I was taken in by the Jiang family since my parents passed”
Jiang Yuelou was quiet before he looked at Madam Yu with narrowed eyes
“Is that so?”
Madam Yu snarled
“He doesn’t deserve it”
Jiang Yuelou frowned
“Everyone should be able to learn cultivation. Doesn’t matter who you are”
He then looked over at Jiang Cheng
“Bring your sister”
Jiang Cheng nodded and quickly pushed himself to his feet before he rushed out of the hall to get his sister as Jiang Yuelou turned and looked down at Wei Wuxian
“Are you alright?”
Wei Wuxian nodded
“I am…thank you”
Just then, Jiang Cheng and a young woman stepped into the hall, the young woman looking at Jiang Yuelou curiously
“You…wanted to see me?”
Jiang Yuelou nodded
“I did. I heard that your cultivation wasn’t very strong, correct?”
The young woman, Jiang Yanli, nodded
“Yes…it’s why I’m ill a lot”
Jiang Yuelou hummed and nodded
“I see. Would you like to learn how to strengthen your cultivation?”
Jiang Yanli blinked before she nodded
“Yes, I would”
Jiang Yuelou nodded
“I thought so”
He then clapped his hands together
“That settles it then. You and your two brothers will go to Gusu Lan to learn cultivation”
Madam Yu looked at him in shock
“You…you can’t do that!”
Jiang Yuelou raised an eyebrow at her
“And why not? I’m the sect founder”
Madam Yu raised her chin haughtily
“Yes, but you’re not the sect leader. My husband is”
Jiang Yuelou hummed and nodded
“You have a point. Fine”
He then looked over at Jiang Fengmian and raised an eyebrow
“How about this? We’ll have a duel and if I win, I become sect leader and allow your children to go to Gusu Lan and learn cultivation and if you win, myself, Chen Yuzhi, and Keying will leave and never return”
Jiang Fengmian was quiet before he shook his head
“I won’t fight. You’re my father, I won’t fight you”
Jiang Yuelou nodded, just as Madam Yu took a step forward
“But I will”
Jiang Yuelou looked at her and hummed
“Is that so? Fine then”
He then reached down and picked up the whip, tossing it to her
“Just so that the fight is a little bit more even”
He then looked down at Keying and placed a gentle hand on her head
“Go back to your brother now”
Keying nodded and quickly rushed back over to Chen Yuzhi, Chen Yuzhi quickly taking her into his arms as Jiang Yuelou looked at Madam Yu and raised an eyebrow
“Shall we?”
Madam Yu nodded, just as two young woman dressed in armor appeared on either side of her, making him look at them in surprise before he huffed
“Oh, so we’re playing dirty then, are we?”
His eyes then began to glow as he began to whistle, a high-pitched shrieking sound just as Chen Yuzhi suddenly appeared beside him, making him look over at him in surprise
“What are you doing?”
Chen Yuzhi glanced back at him before he smirked and unfurled his fan, a glint to the edge of it
“Three against one is a little unfair…two against three should even the playing field”
Jiang Yuelou blinked before he smirked
“Sounds fair to me”
He and Chen Yuzhi then rushed at Madam Yu and her maids, the five of them fighting tirelessly before Jiang Yuelou let out a particularly sharp whistle and watched as his shadow-tentacles wrapped around Madam Yu and her maids’ necks, his eyes glowing bright red as the three women struggled and clawed at the shadows on their necks
As they continued to struggle, Jiang Yuelou felt a gentle hand on his arm, making him look over to see Chen Yuzhi looking at him
“That’s enough. Don’t kill them”
Jiang Yuelou was quiet before he huffed and released them, watching as the three women crashed to the ground, all of them gasping for air as he stood before them, shadows surrounding him as his eyes glowed red
“Looks like we win”
He then reached out and took the whip out of her hand and tossed it to Jiang Cheng before he looked at him, Jiang Yanli, and Wei Wuxian
“Pack your bags…you’re going to Gusu Lan”
Jiang Cheng, Wei Wuxian, and Jiang Yanli all looked at him in surprise before they rushed off to get pack as Jiang Yuelou looked over at Jiang Fengmian and Madam Yu
“There’s going to be some changes around here…starting with who runs this sect”
Chen Yuzhi looked at him in surprise
“You want to be a sect leader?”
Jiang Yuelou shrugged
“This was always my sect to run…and seeing as I’m not going to die anytime soon…I might as well”
He then tilted his head
“What about you? Will you stay and run it with me? Or will you and Keying continue on?”
Chen Yuzhi blinked before he smiled
“We’ll stay…if you’ll have us”
Jiang Yuelou grinned
“I want you nowhere else but by my side”
Over the next few months, after Jiang Yuelou took over as sect leader, the clan began to change and became like how it was when he and Chu Ran were in charge, with a lighter and brighter feel to the sect
Jiang Cheng, Jiang Yanli, and Wei Wuxian also became rather comfortable with him and Chen Yuzhi, the three of them constantly sending letters to both men to let them know how studying in Gusu was going
Then one day, in one of the letters they received, Jiang Yuelou noticed that Wei Wuxian mentioned a student by the name “Lan Wanji” a couple of times, making him hum softly before he looked over at Chen Yuzhi
“Yuzhi, look at this”
Chen Yuzhi looked up from reading some medical scrolls and walked over to him, reading over his shoulder before he smiled
“Looks like someone has a crush”
Jiang Yuelou nodded
“What do you think? Should we send matchmakers?”
Chen Yuzhi looked at him in surprise
“To Gusu? Why would we do that?”
Jiang Yuelou huffed
“You know those Gusu Lans…always so stoic and reserved…might be good to give them a little push”
Chen Yuzhi hummed before he smiled and nodded
“Sounds like a good idea”
Jiang Yuelou then tilted his head
“Where’s Keying?”
Chen Yuzhi hummed and thought about it for a moment
“Ah, I think she’s training with the other disciples”
Jiang Yuelou hummed and nodded
“I see. Good, she should learn proper sword techniques”
He then tilted his head
“How is Yanli doing in her studies?”
Chen Yuzhi nodded
“Good. She seems to have taken to healing better than the other subjects…I plan to visit her in a few days to help her improve as well as check on her golden core, seeing as she said she’s been feeling a little weak these past few days”
Jiang Yuelou frowned
“You’re going to leave me?”
Chen Yuzhi rolled his eyes
“Only for a few days, Yuelou”
Jiang Yuelou hummed
“If you’re going, then I should go too”
Chen Yuzhi frowned
“Are you sure? What about the sect?”
Jiang Yuelou smiled
“Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it”
A little while later, Jiang Yuelou stood before Jiang Fengmian and Madam Yu, a stern look in his gaze
“Chen Yuzhi and I are leaving for Gusu Lan and will leave you in charge. However, if we return and the sect is like how it was when we first arrived…there will be consequences. Understand?”
Jiang Fengmian nodded as Madam Yu huffed and looked away, making Jiang Yuelou roll his eyes before he turned and headed back to Chen Yuzhi
“Ready to go?”
Chen Yuzhi nodded
“Mm”
A while later, Jiang Yuelou and Chen Yuzhi arrived at Gusu Lan’s front gate and looked at the entrance for a moment before they headed inside, looking around the beautiful sect before Jiang Yuelou laughed
“I certainly stand out like a sore thumb, don’t I?”
Chen Yuzhi looked over at him and looked him up and down before he laughed
“A little”
They then continued to walk around before they noticed the main study hall, causing Jiang Yuelou to hum before they walked over to the hall and paused outside, as they could hear the elder of the clan, Lan Qiren, lecturing about the difference between normal and demonic cultivation
Jiang Yuelou then made to enter the hall when Chen Yuzhi reached out and placed a hand on his arm as Wei Wuxian spoke up and argued about how demonic cultivation was like any other cultivation and that it should be a viable technique
At his answer, Lan Qiren growled and made to argue when Jiang Yuelou stepped into the hall and laughed, making everyone turn to look at him with wide eyes as he smiled
“He has a point, you know”
Lan Qiren looked at him in shock
“You…you should be dead!”
Jiang Yuelou smiled and motioned to himself
“Clearly not”
He then looked over at Wei Wuxian and raised an eyebrow
“You seem to know quite a bit about demonic cultivation. Have you been studying?”
Wei Wuxian blinked before he gulped
“Oh, well, I uh…I only know a little about it”
Jiang Yuelou smiled
“Well…I invented the technique. I could teach you how to strengthen yours, if you’d like”
Wei Wuxian looked at him eagerly
“Really?”
Lan Qiren threw out a hand
“Absolutely not! It is a dangerous technique!”
Jiang Yuelou was quiet before he slowly looked over at him, his eyes glowing red
“Shall I show you how really dangerous it can be?”
Just then, a young man dressed in all white with a ribbon around his forehead shot to his feet and drew his sword, pointing it at him
“How dare you threaten my uncle!”
Jiang Yuelou turned to look at him
“You must be Lan Wangji, hm?”
Lan Wangji flinched, surprised that he knew him, as Jiang Yuelou looked over at Wei Wuxian and raised an eyebrow
“This one? Really?”
Wei Wuxian shrugged causing Jiang Yuelou to sigh heavily before he shrugged as well
“Oh well, we can’t help who we love”
He then looked over at Chen Yuzhi and smiled
“Isn’t that right dear?”
Chen Yuzhi smiled and nodded before he looked at Lan Wangji and narrowed his eyes
“Sit down”
Lan Wangji blinked before he quickly sat down, shocked as Chen Yuzhi looked at Jiang Yanli and smiled kindly
“Come”
Jiang Yanli nodded and quickly pushed herself to feet before she walked over to him as they headed out of the hall, just as Lan Qiren took a step towards them
“Where do you think you’re going?”
Jiang Yuelou looked at him
“He’s going to strengthen her healing technique. You struggle in that subject don’t you?”
Lan Qiren growled
“We have plenty of healers—”
“And none of them are as good as him”
He then looked at Wei Wuxian and raised an eyebrow
“Well? Do you want to learn or not?”
Wei Wuxian blinked before he quickly nodded and pushed himself to his feet, Jiang Cheng quickly pushing himself to his feet too
“Can I come?”
Jiang Yuelou glanced over at him and shrugged
“Anyone can”
He then turned and headed out of the hall, Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng following behind just as Lan Qiren rushed after them
“If you learn that technique, I’ll expel you!”
Jiang Yuelou turned to look at him
“And if you try to stop me from teaching them, I’ll show you the true power of demonic cultivation”
He then turned and continued on his way, Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian following after him just as Lan Wangji pushed himself to his feet and rushed after them, making Lan Qiren stare after him in shock
“Wangji?!”
Lan Wangji looked back at him
“I should learn about it to defeat it”
He then quickly rushed over to Wei Wuxian’s side as Wei Wuxian turned to look at him, a bright smile on his face
“Lan Zhan! You’re coming too?”
Lan Wangji was quiet before he nodded, a red tinge on the tips of his ears
At his answer, Wei Wuxian grinned brightly as Jiang Yuelou glanced back at them, a small smile on his face
They reminded him a lot of himself and Chen Yuzhi when they were much younger…and if he and Chen Yuzhi were anything to go by…

Hi! Have you seen the drama Guardians of the Tomb? Is Yibo Chen (our beloved Chen Yuzhi) playing one of the main roles there? The wuxia genre. I wanted to send you footage of him from this drama, but it's not on YouTube, it's not on Printers, and it's not even on Tumblr! It's like no one has heard of her, even though she came out the same year as killer and healer. By the way, Chen Yun Chen (Zhang Junbai) is also playing there. You said that it was difficult to find Ibo Chen in wuxia costumes, I wanted to send them to you, but I failed😅
Hi darling! I have not seen the drama, but I know he’s in there. He’s also in the War of Deification on YouTube so I might pull some images from there too…but I appreciate you looking out for me. The reason I haven’t watched that drama, even though I want to, is that I don’t like the SML actor, Evan Ma. I just can’t stand him. So…he’s the reason I haven’t watched it.
But yeah, now that we lost dramacool, we lost a lot of dramas, since myasiantv, which holds a lot of older dramas, no longer works either (or if it does, the host site is really fucking slow).
Jian Yuelou as the founder of the Order of Jian Yunmen
Jian Chen as Jian Yuelou's great-grandson
Jin Dacheng as the founder of the Lanning Jin Order
At one point, I had the idea of a crossover between these fandoms. Why not? What would happen to the world of cultivators if Jian Yuelou appeared in their world? Jian Chen just wanted to save his brother, Wei Wuxian, and decides to take a desperate step: to call his ancestor for help. The clans want Wei Wuxian dead, the word of the young head of the Yunmen order means practically nothing. He finds a ritual in which to summon the strongest of the order. But an ancestor may refuse to help if he thinks it's none of his business. Fortunately for Wanyin, Jian Yuelou decides to help him. When he learns what the Jin Order is doing to the prisoners of the Wen clan, he becomes enraged. He summons Jin Dacheng from the world of the dead (yes, he was once the head of the Jin order) and shows what path his order has taken. Needless to say, Jin Dacheng staged a moral and physical beating of his descendants? When they tried to kill them, the summoned cultivators only snorted: we can't be killed, we're already dead.
I've loved dragons all my life. I drew them, searched for books, and collected their figurines. At one point, I remembered that it was the year of the Dragon and he gave me my little Dragon🐉12.10.24 the day my 🐉 was born😊 Dreams come true🥰🥰🥰
