Well, hi. Full transparency, this was originally a request. "would you want to do one where they've just started dating and yn initiates the first kiss hehe?" Turned into something a little different, hope that is OK. MDNI, 18+, suggestive.
Namjoon
After he rants about existentialism for 20 minutes. His hands moving enthusiastically, his eyes bright. Admittedly you giggle along for most it, but you also throw in something contrarian every few minutes because you like seeing him riled up. Eventually, you reach for him, gently taking his hands in yours. "Joonie," you say. He looks at you, ready to continue arguing his point, but you cut him off with a kiss. When you pull apart, you remind him, "We don't have to find our purpose tonight." "You tried shutting me up with a kiss," he responds.
Seokjin
After you convince him to have an at-home spa night with you. "This is cruel and unusual punishment," he jokingly cries as you peel the sheet mask off of his face, and gently rub the remainder of the serum into his skin. "Your skincare routine is more elaborate than mine, Seokjin," you argue. He pauses. You're right, but he still tries to argue you some more. Your rebuttal this time is a kiss, pressing your lips firmly against his. "Yah, (Y/N), I didn't know kissing was a part of self-care," he exclaims, when you pull away, the tips of his ears suddenly red.
Yoongi
After you bring him something to eat because he plans works to late in Genius Lab. You both stand to say goodbye. Your eyes lock together and suddenly you’re leaning in. He leans in, too, and you press your lips against his. "I'll let you get back to work," you say, quietly, when you pull apart. You begin to turn away from him but his hand reaches for your wrist. He huffs. "Are you trying to run away, (Y/N)?" he asks, lowly. "Me?" you question, "Run away? Never." You were kind of running away, but you let him pull you back towards him. "Stay a little longer," he tells you.
Hoseok
After he laughs at his own joke. OK, you laughed, too. But as your laughter settles, you can't help but look at him, really look at him. Your stomach flips as you're reminded of how he beautiful is, especially like this, smiling, happy, sunshine. You gently reach for him, your hand settling on the side of his face. He meets your gaze and he quietly asks, "Jagiya?" You don't answer him with words, and instead you lean in, your lips brushing against his. He kisses you back, once, twice, and for a third time. Later on, you whisper to him, "Don't ever change, Hobi."
Jimin
After he returns from another leg of tour. He'll certainly give you credit. While he was gone, you talked a big game, your messages to him very clear on what you wanted to do to him when he got home. But now that he stands in front of you, with the most smug smile, at first all you can do is look up at him through your eyelashes as he teases, "Well, (Y/N)?" You step forward, and you finally kiss him. A kiss to his lips, and then the corner of his mouth, and then his jaw. Before he can stop you, you bury your face in the crook of his neck. "Missed you," you murmur.
Taehyung
As you lay together on his living room floor one evening, a jazz record playing softly in the background. You turn your head to look at him, and he is staring at the ceiling, his humming smooth and warm, matching the singer's syrupy voice. But when he realizes you are looking at him, his eyes light up, a small smile playing on his lips. "What?" he asks. You shake your head, a silent 'nothing,' as you prop yourself up. You hesitate a moment before leaning in, his lips meeting yours halfway. Just as you are pulling apart, he mutters against your mouth, "Again."
Jungkook
After he tells you he needs to start heading home. You follow him to your front door, and watch as he pulls on his shoes. "You can't stay any longer?" you question, quietly. "I would if I could, baby," he says, gently. He looks at you, and suddenly he knows what you're really asking. He questions, "Are you concerned about my schedule, or is it because I have my bike with me?" You pause. You've been caught. You close the distance between you and him, and press your lips against his. "Just text me when you get home," you breathe when you pull away, "Please."
Can we call this my comeback? Super glad to be back. I will be working on the requests I have next but I needed something light to ease back into writing again.
Namjoon
Glasses that never sit straight. “Joonie,” you ask as you turn away from the bathroom mirror and shuffle into your bedroom again, “Are my glasses crooked, or is my face crooked?” From his spot in bed, he looks up from his phone, his glasses equally as askew. He grins. "I think the trick is to stop sitting on them," he says. You gasp. "That was one time," you insist, crawling across the mattress towards him. "Once?" he questions as he pulls you into his arms, your glasses crunching slightly when your face makes contact with his chest. "OK, more than once," you admit.
Seokjin
A competition of whose vision is worse. Sitting on the couch in your living room, shoulders touching, heads together, you compare the lenses of your glasses. "Your lenses are thicker," he concludes, smugly. "Rude," you say, taking your glasses back. "Yah, (Y/N)," he continues, "It only makes sense for WWH to have better vision than you." This riles you up (which is what he is looking for). "That makes no sense," you shoot back, playfully, but he keeps insisting. "I'll stop wearing them then," you respond, "I won’t be able to see, so who will tell you you're WWH then?"
Yoongi
Fingerprints all over the lenses. “How do you see anything when they’re like that?" he asks as he pulls them off your face before you can stop him. You follow him as he gets a lens wipe, using his blurred sweatshirt as a guide. "I think my brain just tunes the smudges out," you say, cheerfully, nearly bumping into him when he stops walking. When he hands you back your meticulously cleaned glasses, you 'ooh' and 'ah.' Five minutes later, though, he leans in and peers at your glasses. He asks incredulously, "How is there another fingerprint already?
Hoseok
New glasses = big commitment. You come home with your new pair of glasses, still in their case. "Let me see, (Y/N)," he coos as he approaches, only stopping short when he sees you are wearing your old pair. "Were they not ready?" he asks with a slight frown. With a heavy sigh, you exchange your new glasses for your old ones. You open your mouth, ready to explain how the new ones look weird on you, but he interrupts. "They look so good, jagiya," he says, moving closer to you, his hands running up and down your arms, "You make them look great."
Jimin
Glasses without lenses. You catch him squinting to read something in the distance. Without a second thought, you take your glasses off and hold them out to him. He shakes his head. "I'm good, baby," he insists, pointing to the ones he is wearing. You giggle and slide his off his face. "They're fake," you say. "Details," he replies, finally taking your glasses from you. He doesn't put them on fully, just holds them up so he can see through them, but it is obvious he can suddenly understand what he was trying to read. "Thanks, (Y/N)," he mutters, handing them back.
Taehyung
Should I get contacts? A question you ask him one night while standing in front of the bathroom mirror. "I've worn them before," you say, "I just wonder if they would help my face look... different." He stops and turns to you. "Hey, (Y/N), look at me," he replies. You pull your eyes away from the mirror and look at him reluctantly. "Glasses, contacts, blurry vision," he begins, the last item making you laugh, "You're beautiful. You should wear whatever is most comfortable to you. Comfort - that's my preference." He brushes a strand of hair behind your ear.
Jungkook
Leaving the house without glasses. You can tell something is different. You suddenly feel taller, things don't look as crisp, but it does not dawn on you what's actually wrong until you catch a glimpse of yourself in the reflection of your car's windows. Seeing your reaction, he giggles. "Jungkook," you whine, "We need to go back." Still giggling, he holds up your glasses, which he took with him when he saw you leaving without them. "Baby," you pout, rounding the car with your hand held out. "I wanted to see how long it would take for you to notice," he says, simply, placing your glasses gently in your hand.
Thank you to all who have sent in requests lately. I'm in a better spot now so I'm going to start working on them. This is one of them: "an idea for an imagine they stop you from tripping or falling." Also, small detail but I updated the divider colors - instead of their microphone colors, they now possibly (probably not) match the Arirang vinyl colors.
Namjoon
A book, left on the floor by the coffee table. He is able to stop you from falling because he is right behind you, but that doesn't mean guilt doesn't immediately wash over him, as he knows he was the one to leave the book there in the first place. When you're steady, you wrap your arms around his torso. "It's OK, Joonie," you quickly reassure him, "It was an accident. You didn't mean it." He tries to argue but you gently shush him. "Accidents happen," you tell him.
Seokjin
A splash of water from when he carried a pot of water from the sink to the stove, now a tiny puddle on the kitchen floor. You hit the wet spot just right, causing you to slide. You catch yourself by reaching for the counter but he is still by your side in seconds. "Yah, (Y/N)," he says, his hand reaches for your shoulder, "Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" You look up at him. "Give you a heart attack?" you gasp, "I almost just perished in our kitchen." He apologizes and kisses your forehead.
Yoongi
A cable running across the floor of Genius Lab. You see it. In your head, you acknowledge it. Your foot still catches on it. Cat-like reflexes, his hand shoots out and he grabs you before your head catches the corner of the console. "Are you OK?" he asks first, looking you over, and then he says second, "One of these days I'm going to wrap you in bubble wrap." You giggle and comment how that would require a lot of bubble wrap. He looks at you, "It'd be worth it."
Hoseok
A dance step gone wrong. When you fall out of the step, he immediately falls out of Dance Teacher mode. He steadies you, his hand cupping one of your elbows. "Ankle all good?" he asks. You lift your foot a few inches off the ground and wiggle it before you step down on it, making sure it can still bear your weight. You nod. "I think it looked worse than it really was," you say, brightly. You begin to say 'let's run it again,' but he stops you. "Water break first," he insists.
Jimin
Air, literal air. When he stops you from falling, he first makes sure you are OK and then he looks for the cause. As far as he can tell, the floor is even, and there is no random object disguised as a trip hazard. He looks back at you. "How did you manage to do that?" he asks, a small smile appearing on his face. "Talent?" you respond with a giggle, causing him to smile more. "Well, I don't like this talent," he replies, "I worry about you enough as it is - now you trip on air?"
Taehyung
A crack in the pavement. When you get to the walking path along the river, he pretends to pull up his fitness app on his watch. "You tricked me," you gasp, thinking he is going to make you run. He laughs and loops his arm through yours. "I'm only joking," he assures you. But then as you begin walking, your foot catches on a crack in the ground, his arm being what keeps you upright. "I'm rethinking this whole walk, Tae," you tell him. He pats your arm. "It'll be OK," he says.
Jungkook
One of Bam's many chew toys, scattered across the living room. You step on the chew toy, which throws you off-balance. His hand on your waist steadies you. "You need to tell your son to pick up his toys," you tell Jungkook, which makes him laugh. "Oh, he's just my son now?" he questions. You look at Bam, who is watching innocently from the couch, paused mid-chew of one of his toys. You instantly soften. "Of course not," you coo. This somehow ends with you apologizing to Bam.
Another great request from an anon. Thank you, again. No trigger warnings for this one.
Namjoon
You brace yourself when he gets back in the car, expecting him to slam the car door again. He notices your shoulders tense, and then how you subconsciously lean away from him. "Did I do it again?" he asks, knowingly. You nod as your body begins to loosen again. "Fuck," he sighs, running a hand through his hair, "I'm sorry." You hold your hand out to him, which he gratefully takes. "It's OK," you say, "I'm good now." He doesn't believe you, but he doesn't argue back.
Seokjin
The microwave door shut too hard. He's in the zone, cooking dinner, doing too many things at once. However, when the door slams shut, you yelp in response. Without even thinking about it, he decides to risk whatever is simmering on the stove to make sure you're OK. "Yah, (Y/N), come here," he says, gently, opening his arms up to you. You step into them gratefully, but still insist, "It just startled me, that's all." He still holds onto you until he feels your body relax again.
Yoongi
An object accidentally dropped, but it still sounds like it was thrown instead. He notices how your eyes linger, scanning for any signs that he might be angry. He's certainly not angry, but he is worried about you now. "Butterfingers," he promises as he approaches you slowly, "I scared you, didn't I?" You nod once. He holds his hand out to you, letting you set the pace. You eventually reach for him, giving his fingers a gentle squeeze. "Come here," he says, quietly.
Hoseok
He yells suddenly out of excitement. However, his happiness quickly dissipates when he sees the look on your face. "Jagiya?" he questions, concern evident in his tone, "What happened?" You hesitate to tell him, he didn't actually do anything wrong. He was being himself. He guesses instead. "I forget how loud I can be sometimes," he admits, "Just tell me to shut up next time." You won't, but you can't help but smile. "Seriously though, I'm sorry," he adds.
Jimin
He accidentally knocks his water glass off the nightstand. The sound of shattering glass wakes you up and for a moment you are disoriented. "Damn it," he mutters, stretching further to turn on a lamp. He looks back at you, and sees you awake, your chest rising and falling heavily. He scoots to you, one hand cupping your cheek. "It's OK," he reassures you, "Go back to sleep, I'll clean everything up." You eventually drift back to sleep while he shuffles around the room.
Taehyung
He calls your name, not loud, but definitely sudden. Even standing behind you, he can see how you react. You jump, and when you turn around, you are clutching at your chest. Guilt instantly floods through him. He thought you heard him. He wasn't trying to sneak up behind you. "I'm sorry," he says, one of his hands finding your upper arm in an attempt to steady you. You let out a shaky breath. "It's OK, Tae," you reply, moving closer to him. He wraps his arms around you.
Jungkook
A door slamming. He misjudged his strength, that's all. But still, it is enough to get your heart racing, even from several rooms away. He finds you in the kitchen, your hands gripping the counter, knuckles pale. He approaches you steadily. He places a hand over one of yours, his thumb rubbing circles as if to relieve the tension you're feeling. "Baby, I-" he stutters. You look at him. He swallows hard. "I hope you know that wasn't on purpose," he says, quietly, genuinely.
For someone who used to say she would never write AU fics, this came way too easily. Superhero AU. Obviously inspired by his 251228 Live. superhero!yoongi x sidekick!tang. Humor.
Setting: Yoongi’s Top Secret, Superhero Lair, Definitely Not in the Basement of HYBE, 6:12am
Yoongi’s only been asleep for a few hours - having spent most of the night fighting crime across Seoul - when he is jolted awake by a paw swatting his forehead. Hard. His eyes fly open and Tang is peering down at him. Meow, Tang says, which is basically the cat version of ‘good morning.’
Yoongi tries to reach for him, begging for, "Five more minutes." But seeing that Yoongi is now awake, Tang hops off the bed and trots out of the bedroom, heading straight for his empty food bowl in the kitchen.
With a groan, Yoongi flips back the covers and swings his legs over the edge of his bed. His aching muscles and joints creak and pop as he begins moving. “I’ve created a monster,” he mutters under his breath.
He joins Tang in the kitchen. MeOW, Tang cries, which practically means ‘feed me now, human, or else I will perish.’ Never needing to be told twice, Yoongi scoops cat food into the feline’s bowl before pouring himself a bowl of Wheaties. Yoongi hops up and sits on the counter, the phrase ‘Breakfast of Champions’ rolling around in his half-awake brain as he chews slowly.
Tang finishes eating before Yoongi. And when he does, he jumps onto the counter to sit beside his owner, hoping that his caring, loving owner might share the leftover milk from his cereal bowl at the end - never mind. “Sorry,” Yoongi unapologetically tells the cat before claiming the milk for himself. Tang’s tail flicks in annoyance.
Suddenly, an alarm blares throughout the lair. Even after all this time, it still startles Yoongi, making him spill the rest of the milk down the front of t-shirt. Tang doesn’t know human words, but if he did, he certainly would have thought karma in that moment.
Yoongi hops off the counter and discards his cereal bowl in the sink before rushing to get his suit back on, yelling something about, "why can't I have one day of peace and quiet?"
Meanwhile, Tang walks calmly to the lair’s entrance and leaps into his cat backpack. When Yoongi sees him, he says, “Absolutely not. You’re not coming with me. Not this time.” Tang hisses in response. With an indignant sound leaving his mouth, Yoongi bends down and zips up the backpack before putting it on.
“Ready to go, Tang?” he asks.
Setting: Rooftop of HYBE Building, 10:17am
Yoongi races to the rooftop of the HYBE building, Tang's backpack bouncing with every step, where the Evil Bang PD is already waiting for him, laughing maniacally. Yoongi ducks behind a partition, and pulls the backpack off his back and sets it on the ground. Sensing the brewing battle, Tang impatiently nudges the zipper with his nose. “Give me a second,” Yoongi whispers. He unzips the backpack and Tang wastes no time in hopping out. With the hair raised on his back, Tang scuttles away.
Yoongi leaves his hiding spot. “I didn’t think I would see your big nose again so soon,” he yells, revealing himself to the evil villain.
Pow!
Boom!
Zap!
There is a moment in their battle when Bang PD gets the upper hand. He hits Yoongi with a freeze ray, trapping his body in ice, rendering him motionless. Not used to this amount of success during their fights, Bang PD’s hubris flares and he makes the mistake of stopping to recite an overly-practiced soliloquy.
“First, I’m going to kidnap BTS,” he begins, but Yoongi isn’t listening. His eyes are focused on Tang, who is creeping along the edge of the rooftop.
“And then I’m going to make them record Cypher 5,” Bang PD declares. Tang creeps closer to Bang PD. When he is several feet away, Tang stops and crouches, wiggling his body slightly to calibrate.
“And then once they release it, I’m going to take all of the royalties-” Tang suddenly leaps, claws out, and attacks Bang PD from behind. He latches onto the villain's back.
Bang PD screams and begins spinning around, trying to throw Tang off of him. With this distraction, Yoongi is able to break free from the ice.
Bang!
Wham!
Splat!
Yoongi is able to regain control of the fight, eventually forcing Bang PD to retreat (at least for now). As the evil villain flies away in his helicopter, he yells, “WE’LL MEET AGAIN SOON, FURBALL.”
Yoongi looks at Tang, who is licking his paw. “I guess your notoriety is growing,” Yoongi says, fully believing that Bang PD was talking about the furry sidekick.
Tang pauses and side-eyes Yoongi. MEow, he replies, as if to say ‘he was talking about you.’
“Me?” Yoongi responds, incredulously. He looks down at his suit. He is covered in cat hair. Damn it, Tang, he thinks.
He helps the cat back into his backpack. “Let’s pick up a lint brush before we go home,” he declares.
Setting: Back in Yoongi’s Top Secret, Superhero Lair, Definitely Not in the Basement of HYBE, 6:18pm
The rest of the day goes by without incident. Exhaustion quickly sets in once they return to the secret lair. “I’m just going to rest my eyes,” Yoongi promises Tang as he climbs into bed, pulling the blankets up to his chin. He is out within 5 seconds. He sleeps until early evening, and is only awakened by Tang kneading his stomach. Dinner time.
Yoongi stumbles into the kitchen and follows a similar, half-awake routine. He serves Tang his standard scoop of cat food before making his own meal - this time, a sandwich. Tang eventually joins him on the counter and is delighted when Yoongi shares a small piece of crust with him. “Thanks for saving me today,” Yoongi mumbles, shyly.
meow!, Tang responds, clearly meaning ‘who would take care of me if I lost you?’
After dinner, Yoongi wanders into the living room and settles on the couch. Tang thinks about joining him, but decides better of it - he has things he needs to explore. He ambles into the room and his eyes immediately fall on a strange, new item on the fireplace mantel.
With Yoongi distracted by his phone now, Tang performs some graceful parkour to reach the mantel. He creeps along the narrow shelf until he reaches the object. He isn’t sure what it is, but he instinctively purrs and rubs his head against it. His concentration is only broken by Yoongi, who is now suddenly paying attention. “Tang, don’t touch that,” he scolds.
Tang can tell by the urgency in Yoongi’s voice that the item is important. He looks at Yoongi. Yoongi looks back at him. Yoongi feels like he is suddenly a hostage negotiator. “Tang, just leave it alone,” he says, before quickly adding, “Do you want a treat? Let me get you one.”
No, Tang wants whatever this is. He slowly begins raising his paw.
“Tang, don’t do it,” Yoongi says in a louder tone. He begins standing from the couch, but it is too late.
Tang brings his paw down in a swift motion, pushing the item off the mantel. Yoongi takes cover. When the item hits the ground, a red beam shoots from it, burning a small hole into the opposite wall.
Yoongi peaks out from behind the couch. "Is it safe to come out?" he asks.
MEOW?, Tang replies, a.k.a. 'I don't know, I'm a cat.'
Later on, Yoongi feeds Tang his bedtime Churu. “Yeah, I guess it’s my fault for putting a laser gun there,” Yoongi admits, quietly, unable to stop looking at the singed hole.
Read this first: OK, prequel to When you break up and When you make up. I received requests to do 'when their parents don't like you' and 'another member falsely accuses you of cheating on them,' and I was like wow, that's a lot of angst. I don't want say to 'no' to requests, but this was my attempt to compromise. Lots of toxic behavior ahead (that shouldn't be tolerated IRL). Also mentions of body image and cutting calories in Jimin's part. Please beware.
Namjoon
It starts subtly at first. You don't notice it as much. But eventually, it evolves into him always being right. You're wrong. It's his way, or no way. In his mind, he sees it as just as intellectual debate. But it's exhausting having to constantly defend your side, your thoughts, and your opinions. However, one night, you don't fight back, and he notices. "That's it?" he asks after you nod in response to something he says. You shrug your shoulders, trying so hard to bite your tongue. "Come on, (Y/N), you must have something to say," he insists. You shake your head. "I just want peace and quiet for once," you explain.
Seokjin
After holding onto something that has been bothering you for a long time, you finally work up the courage to talk about it with him. However, within a minute, he cracks a joke. He is not listening to you, not in the way that you need him to anyway. You immediately shutdown. Any sense of bravery you were feeling is gone. When you begin to stand up, because at this point you don't want to be around him, he notices something is wrong. "Where are you going, (Y/N)?" he asks, "I thought you needed to tell me something." You shake your head. "Not anymore, Jin," you say, simply, "It didn't matter anyway."
Yoongi
You try to give him space. You know he is working. That's it. But when you don't hear from him for days, you eventually visit him at Genius Lab. You punch in the studio code and let yourself in. When he turns and sees you, he looks annoyed. And after eating the takeout you brought, he quickly tries to dismiss you. "I was hoping to spend a little more time with you," you admit, quietly. He rolls his eyes. "You'll get bored, (Y/N)," he insists, "And besides, I don't need someone looking over my shoulder when I work." You begin to argue back but decide against it. "I guess I'll see you around then," you say instead.
Hoseok
After getting off the phone with his parents, he steps back into the room. You can tell by the look on his face that something isn't right, but when you ask, he insist he's fine. Later on, his parents words are still echoing in his brain - "do you really want to spend the rest of your life with them, Hoseok?" On the phone, he answered like it was a no-brainer (because it is). However, the more he thinks about it, the more unsure he becomes. He begins losing the battle. Eventually, he tells himself, They're seeing something I don't. They must be right. When he comes to this conclusion, he begins withdrawing from you.
Jimin
You understand his struggles with his body image. You do your best to be there for him when his inner critic is the loudest. You never tire of being his #1 cheerleader, always wanting to tell him how beautiful he is; how much you love him; how you appreciate his hard work and efforts. However, something happens. Before an event, he begins skipping meals. You hate it, and you do what you can to still support him. But he turns the negative self-talk towards you when you eat a snack in front of him. "Are you sure you should be eating that?" he asks, offhandedly. You stop mid-chew, unsure of how to respond.
Taehyung
From the beginning, you appreciated how much of a social butterfly Taehyung was, weirdly impressed by his many friend groups. If anyone deserved to have so many people care for him, it was Tae. However, you felt like an outsider amongst his friends (and the feeling was mutual). "Where are we going?" you ask him, excitedly, when you find him getting ready one night. He pauses. "I'm meeting up with a few people," he explains. When you move to get ready, too, he stops you. "Oh, it was just going to be us," he explains, meaning just him and his friends. You recoil. "Oh, OK," you say, dejected.
Jungkook
You had planned to spend the night with Jungkook and few of the members, but you came down with the flu. You insist Jungkook still goes. Hours pass. Alcohol serves as liquid courage. "I'm really worried about you," one of the members slurs. Jungkook recoils. "About me?" he questions. The member nods. "I don't think (Y/N) is good for you," the member continues, "There is just something weird about them. They're never around. Are you sure they're home?" Jungkook does his best to deflect, but the words stick with him. The next time he sees you, he asks, "I'm the only one, right? You're not cheating, right?"
Sorry for skipping a day. 2026 is already weird. Next post will be a request, but just a head's up - it will be angsty. Please prepare accordingly.
Namjoon
Always wanting to ensure your relationship is an equal partnership, he begrudgingly lets you pay. However, later that night, when you're sitting side-by-side in bed, scrolling on your phones, you get a notification. He Venmo-ed you the exact amount you paid for dinner. "Joonie," you whine, "Why did you do that?" He pretends he doesn't know what you are talking about but you show him your phone. "Who said that was for dinner?" he asks, "The total is 100% arbitrary."
Seokjin
When you tell him your idea, you instantly fall into a hushed back-and-forth about who is actually paying - until the server returns. He greets them with a charming smile. "My partner and I seem to be having a disagreement right now," he explains. You hiss his name. He ignores you, and asks the server who they think should pay the bill. Recognizing Jin, who is now pointing at himself, the server chooses Jin. "Yah, good answer," Jin answers, happily handing over his card.
Yoongi
When the check comes, and you tell him you're paying, he almost looks offended. However, you don't let his side-eye deter you. You begin to place your card on the table, but he blocks you with his hand. "Yoongi, it's fine," you say, cheerfully, "Let me pay for once." "I will snap your card in half before I let you pay," he replies with equal cheer. Deciding not to call his bluff, you quickly put your card away. "You're no fun," you pout. He smiles brightly in response.
Hoseok
He hates the idea of you paying for dinner, but he also knows how strongly you feel about this, so he tries to bargain with you. "I'll pay for dinner," he explains, sweetly, "And when we stop for ice cream on the way home, you can pay for that." For a moment, you consider his offer but you reject it due to the cost discrepancy. "If price is your concern, I will get all of the ice cream toppings," he promises. You accept his counteroffer. He still manages to pay for your ice cream.
Jimin
When the check comes, you look away for just a moment in order to reach for your wallet. However, when you look at the table again, the bill is gone. You look at Jimin, who has the bill tightly clutched in his hand and he has already pulled out his card. "Absolutely not," he tells you. He nods at your wallet. You try to argue but he cuts you off with a shake of his head. "Spend your money on you," he tells you, "I will always pay for us." You sit back in your seat, resigned. "Fine," you huff.
Taehyung
You accidentally tell him about your plan on the way to the restaurant so he is expecting it. Before dessert comes, he excuses himself from the table, and you think nothing of it. However, when you've finished the last bite of dessert and drank the last sip of wine, he readies himself to stand. "Ready to go?" he asks, nonchalantly. "We haven't paid yet, Tae," you try to remind him. He laughs. "You really thought I was going to let you pay?" he asks, "I paid before dessert."
Jungkook
Hoping to win this argument, you try to appeal to his competitive side. Ignoring the fact you're in the middle of restaurant, you hold out your fist. "Rock, paper, scissors," you declare, "Best out of three. Winner pays." Unable to resist, he holds out his fist and says, "This is a lost cause, you know." You lose the first two rounds. As if to rub in his victory, he dramatically takes out his card, giggling the whole time. "Better luck next time, baby," he says, coyly. "Shut up," you pout.
68. Most to least likely: To complete a New Year's resolution
Jimin
Of course, he would be the one to find a loophole. When you ask him what his New Year's resolution is, he thinks for a moment. "I would like to travel more in 2026," he eventually declares. You look at him - you blink once. "You're about to go on a world tour," you say, simply. He grins. "Exactly," he exclaims, "Why would I choose something I am guaranteed to fail at?" You begin to respond, but change your mind.
Hoseok
Having had his list of goals for a month now, he's already meditated on them; jotted them down; created a vision board; asked his manager if they were doable; modified them; and then added them to his calendar. He will complete every goal he has set for himself. "Don't burn yourself out," you remind him. With a smile, he pulls you into his arms. "Thank you, jagiya," he says, lovingly, "I promise I'll be OK."
Seokjin
He succeeds because he chooses a simple, realistic resolution. When talking about them, he tells you, "I feel like cuddling has been an area of opportunity for us. I would like to do more of it this year." Your brain short circuits. "In fact, let's start now," he declares, not waiting for your answer. He gently takes your hand, leads you to the couch, and pulls you down with him. "Yah, (Y/N)," he says, "We're already doing so well."
Jungkook
"I'm all for this, like I will support you in everything you do," you say, looking at his Amazon cart, which is filled with watercolor supplies, "But wouldn't it be better to ease into a new hobby?" He lovingly ignores you and buys what feels like is enough supplies to stock a whole art studio. He does one painting, and then the supplies sits abandoned for the rest of the year. You still look at the one painting everyday.
Taehyung
Couples who set resolutions together, fail together. "Cheater," he exclaims, suddenly appearing behind you. You thought you had opened the can of Coke Zero quietly enough. "Tae, I can explain-" you begin to say, but he interrupts you by taking the can out of your hand. "Give that to me," he says. You think he is going to dump it out, but he takes a sip of instead. "I feel so much better," he sighs, happily.
Namjoon
He tries, but the first week of January rolls around, and he is filled with immense dread when he looks at his list of goals. You find him staring at the list, and you immediately know what's going through his mind. "Don't put so much pressure on yourself, Joonie," you tell him, "If they happen, great. If they don't happen, then that's OK, too." Relief washes over him. "Thank you, baby," he says, grateful for you.
Yoongi
You already know the answer, but you still ask him if he has any New Year's resolutions. "No," he says, simply, before adding, "And I already love the life we've built together, why would I want to change anything about it?" He says it so nonchalantly, but your heart almost bursts of your chest. "What?" he asks when notices you staring at him. "Nothing, nothing," you say, bashfully, your cheeks turning red.
Took a quick break from the requests in order to get Tae's one shot posted in time, but I also did not want to go another day without posting a preference. I will continue with the preference requests later this week. I promise.
Namjoon
It's the maknae line's fault. After a night of drinking wine with them, they dare you to call Namjoon, "Rrrrrrrrap Monster," perfectly rolled 'r' and all, when he comes to get you. Despite being tipsy, you don't miss how his soul nearly exits his body when you do. He doesn't say much more as he gathers you and your coat before guiding you to the front door, the maknaes' still laughing loudly. During your walk home, you look at him. "Are you mad at me?" you ask. He looks back at you, dimples showing. "No," he laughs, "You just took me by surprise."
Seokjin
On this day, he is in a bossy, sassy mood. "Whatever you want, World Wide Handsome," you respond, offhandedly. You roll your eyes as an added touch. However, you know you've made a mistake when he stills. A moment passes before he looks up at the ceiling, and whispers, "I knew this day would come." Your jaw drops. "Who are you talking to?" you ask, incredulously. He ignores your question as he sidles up to you and wraps an arm around your shoulder. "Did you mean it?" he asks, his voice filled with hope, "You really think I'm WWH?"
Yoongi
With him being so focused on the track pulled up on his screen, he doesn't hear you when you call his name the first few times. You resort to drastic measures. "Suga," you call, which somehow cuts through his headphones. He pulls the headset off as he turns around. "Yoongi," he corrects you. "Suga," you say again. "No." "Agust D?" "Nope." "Gloss?" "Absolutely not." You think a moment. "Baby?" you question. "Well, obviously," he replies. "Yeobo?" you try, jokingly. "Shut up," he cries as he turns back around to hide his blushing cheeks.
Hoseok
For Hobi, it's the exact opposite. He is so used to you calling him Hobi that any other name does not feel right. "Hoseok," you call to him because he is in the other room, and you need his help. Your voice was steady, calm, and confident, and yet he enters the room as if he is in trouble. "What's wrong, jagiya?" he asks, quietly. You look at him with a bemused look. "Nothing's wrong," you say, "Are you OK?" He shakes his head. "You called me Hoseok," he responds, and you cannot help but laugh. "I'm sorry, I meant to call for Hobi," you say.
Jimin
"My Mochi," you coo as join him on the couch. You expect him to immediately pull you close, but instead he looks at you suspiciously. You recoil. "Why are you looking at me like that?" you ask. "Why are you calling me that?" he asks in return. "I can't try new things?" you fire back. "Well, of course, you can," he stutters before adding, "But you never call me that." You finally move and wrap your arms around him. "I thought a sweet nickname for a sweet boyfriend made sense," you say, coyly. "Nope," he replies, "Now I know you're up to no good."
Taehyung
You call him V without thinking. “V, can you grab that for me?” you ask, pointing to a jar on the top shelf of your pantry. He begins to move, but stops, his arm still outstretched, when it dawns on him what you just said. He turns his head slowly to look at you. "Oh, I'm just V to you now?" he asks, surprisingly hating his idol name on your lips. You giggle and reach for him but he steps out of your reach, his lips already forming into a pout. "No,” he says, wistfully, “I can't reach the top shelf for people who call me V. I guess you'll need to try another name."
Jungkook
The moment the word, "Bunny," leaves your mouth, he almost implodes. "What's wrong?" you ask, noticing his reaction. "I'm not cute," he insists. You stifle a laugh. "I didn't call you cute, though," you retort. He shakes his head. "You don't understand," he argues, "Calling me Bunny is the equivalent of calling me adorable. I'm not cute." Although he tries to resist, you wrap your arms around his waist before kissing his pouting lips. "Actually, you are," you whisper, making him involuntarily melt, "You don't want to make an exception for me?"
HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, V! It's still 12/30/25 where I am, so I'm technically not late. Fun fact: Lately, one of my favorite video clips to rewatch is from Bon Voyage 1 when he is lost frolicking in the Swedish countryside, and Jimin is on the phone, like, "Why are you so calm?" Anywho. idol!taehyung x partner!reader. Fluff, fluff, and more fluff (as per usual).
In preparation for the New Year, you declare that you and Taehyung are going to spend your one, rare day off decluttering. “New year, new us,” you chant as you zip by him with a garbage bag, “Keep only what sparks joy for you, Tae.”
He is so in love with you that he doesn’t care if you recite outdated, Marie Kondo quotes at him.
Surprisingly, several hours in, he finds that he is actually being productive. He reorganized the pantry. He established a solid stack of clothes now designated for donation. He untangled a ball of cords. He still doesn’t know what half of them go to but at least they are neatly, individually coiled now. Just as he is figuring out what he should do next, his eyes fall upon his military backpack, stuffed in between his gaming desk and the wall.
Not being able to help himself, he grabs it.
At this point, it’s light to pick up. It was one of the first things he emptied when he got home. There wasn’t much in it anyway - there weren't any military souvenirs he wanted to bring home with him, at least not willingly. However, he reaches in the main compartment anyway, his fingers sweeping the bottom. All he comes back with is debris, dirt, a crumpled, faded receipt, and a small pebble (which he picked up when he thought the others weren't looking - he just thought it was a cool color). He begins checking the smaller pockets. In them? Nothing.
He reaches the last pocket. The smallest one. After doing it hundreds of times, he finds he retained the muscle memory of carefully unzipping it. When it's open, he dips his hand in and pulls out what can only be described as a wad of paper. Despite it being such an unassuming object, his heart beats wildly in his chest as emotions and memories suddenly flood through him. He carefully unfolds it to reveal what it actually is.
Five pieces of 8.5” x 11” standard printer paper, each with a photo of you and him printed on it, folded in eighths, worn and deeply creased from the constant unfolding and folding of them whenever he had a chance. The irony of these pieces of paper were never lost on him. With his love and appreciation for photography, they are almost sacrilege. He can take breathtaking pictures, and he knows how to properly develop them. But when it came time to figure out how to smuggle a piece of you with him when he went into the military, he panicked the night before he enlisted and printed five of his favorite photos of you on a basic, inkjet printer (he can still hear the sound of the printer).
Even though you are in the next room, he still flips through the pictures.
The first picture is a picture of you on your first date. If he is being honest, he wanted to so desperately impress you then (he still does). When he asked around for recommendations, a friend - of a friend - of a friend mentioned to him the omakase restaurant of an up-and-coming chef. Great, Tae thought, intimate and the food is bound to be impressive. Wrong. The chef turned out to be a pretentious dick, and he could have gotten you better food from 7/11. At least, this is according to Tae, who definitely noticed the chef throw you a wink during one of the courses.
Did you actually notice? Not a chance. Even with it being your first date, you only wanted Taehyung.
When you left the restaurant, you suddenly remembered something. “Shoot, Tae,” you said, pulling out your phone, “Let’s take a selfie - you know, to remember tonight.”
He hadn’t even processed your words before you took the photo. You looked at it. In it, you were smiling brightly, he was still pouting. “Cute,” you muttered under your breath. With a happy sigh, you put your phone away, not even considering the possibility that he might want to retake it. You looked at him. “Are you down for some ice cream?” you asked.
The second picture is a picture of you during a night-in. One night shortly after you made it official-official, without really thinking about it, he texted you about how he had been feeling more down lately. When he mentioned it, he wasn’t really looking for empathy, or for you to even react. He didn't want you to worry. He just wanted to say it (even if it was just through text) and then hopefully move on. But then you replied with 🥺➡️☝️➡️🏃♀️➡️🧖♀️and arrived an hour later with a heavy-looking shopping bag.
“What is all of this?” he asked as he followed you to his dining room table, his curiosity piqued.
You made eye contact with him first before lifting the bag high and overturning it so that all of its contents fell onto the table. “Tonight, Tae,” you began, “We’re pampering ourselves.”
Butterflies fluttered wildly in his stomach as he looked at the items, matching spa headbands, face masks, eye masks, lip scrubs. You didn't have to do this for him, but that didn't stop you. You wanted to do this for him.
Later on, he convinced you take to take another selfie with him, mid-face mask. "You better not show this to anyone," you told him sternly, but only moving your lips minimally to keep the mask from slipping.
He promised you he wouldn't but he could not resist sending it to BTS groupchat. He wrote to the other members, “I think I’m falling for them.”
The third picture is a picture of you holding Yeontan. He loved you so much.
The fourth picture is a picture of you, Jimin, and Jungkook.
Taehyung had put off introducing you to the rest of the members for as long as he could. In hindsight, he regrets going about it that way. He was not embarrassed by you, and he knew the members would never give you a hard time. However, there was a small part of him that was worried there was still the possibility that the most important people in his life - you and BTS - were not compatible. He was so wrong.
So months later, when you stopped by one of their rehearsals, it was suddenly a race between him, Jimin, and Jungkook to get to you first. Technically, Taehyung lost miserably. However, he also won because he got to watch the absolute, best case scenario continue to play out before his very eyes. With a firm grip on one of your sleeves, Jimin wasted no time asking you why you had not made time to see him lately. “Do you not like me anymore?” Jimin asked you, dramatically, “Say it’s not so, (Y/N), my heart can’t handle it.” Meanwhile, Jungkook happily chattered away, “(Y/N), I found a new co-op game you might like. We need to play it soon, (Y/N). I promise I’ll let you win at least a round.
Without thinking about it, Taehyung pulled his phone out of his pocket and took a photo to capture the moment. He mentally captioned it Convergence.
He eventually felt courageous enough to show it you. When you looked at it, a fond smile immediately spread across your face. This was the best case scenario.
The final picture is a picture of you in Paris, a trip you took a few months before he left for the military. After spending the day exploring, you returned to your hotel room. To ease your sore bodies, he pulled you into the shower with him, the hot water and steam relaxing your muscles, the soft touches between you relaxing everything else. After, he wrapped you in the fluffiest robe and ordered you room service. And when you were full from the food and warm from the wine, you crawled into bed together.
When you fell asleep, he quietly slipped from bed and took a photo of you. While he was capturing your sleeping form, he was also trying to encapsulate the moment itself because just before you drifted under you whispered to him, "I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
He felt like the wind was knocked out him as he was rendered speechless by your words. A moment of silence passed. "You do?" he finally asked.
You nodded sleepily. "I think I've known for a while."
It was not a solid plan. There was no ring. There was no date. Not yet, anyway. But that was still OK with him because he just needed the promise of forever, which would eventually help him get through the hard days ahead of him.
Taehyung carefully folds the papers again, back into its original, wad form. For a moment, he holds it, weighing it in his hand as he decides what to do with it.
You appear in the doorway, unable to see what is in his hand. “Don’t forget, only keep the things that spark joy,” you still say, seriously.
He smiles, looking back at you. “I will,” he promises.
With a satisfied nod, you continue onto your next decluttering mission, humming as you go.
He looks at the folded papers once more before carefully tucking them away in one of his desk’s drawers.
I told you these requests were a mini journey. Today's post is you are still visiting family and things were going well until they weren't. Half-fluff/half-angst. And with all this talk lately about home and family, I just want to add that you decide what home is to you. Same with your family. Your chosen family is not always your biological family, and that's more than OK.
Namjoon
He feels helpless during the argument, knowing its your battle to fight, so he is surprised when you're finally alone and you say to him, "Thank you, Joonie." He shakes his head. "I wish I did more, (Y/N)," he replies. "You did enough," you assure him, you arms wrapping around his waist, "With you here, I felt like I could finally stick up for myself." He wonders if you hear his heart break for you. "That was all you, (Y/N)," he gently argues, pressing a kiss to your temple, "Time will tell if they listened, but that's not on you. You were still so, so brave."
Seokjin
To help you take space, he drives you to a parking lot, several blocks from your family's home. He puts the car in park. For a while, you remain silent as you look out the passenger door window, your brain a tangled knot of anger. However, you eventually say, "I don't why they don't listen to me - it's as if they still see me as a kid." He gently takes one of your hands in his, his thumb instinctively rubbing circles on the back of your hand. "I'm sorry, (Y/N)," he says, gently, "Even if they never change, the things you say are still important."
Yoongi
"I don't know why I thought this was a good idea, Yoongi," you whisper, voice cracking, "Why did I want to come back here? Why did I think this time would be any different?" You meet his gaze as your emotions tip over the edge. He has you in his arms as your tears begin to fall. He rubs your back. "You like to see the good in people," he responds, quietly, "But sometimes that doesn't work with family, and now you know for next time." He pulls back slightly and wipes your tears. "You weren't wrong for hoping for the best," he says.
Hoseok
After the argument, your family scatters, with you and him retreating back to your bedroom. "I wish they would just say 'sorry' for once," you explain to him as you sit side-by-side with him on your bed. He wraps an arm around your shoulders, pulling you closer. "After all these years, with everything that has happened, would it make a difference?" he asks, gently. You think for a moment before shaking your head. He gives you a gentle squeeze. "You will always deserve an apology, (Y/N)," he continues, "I'm just sorry it has gotten to this point."
Jimin
"We don't have to stay, you know," he whispers as he watches you pace in your childhood room. You stop and look at him, tears still running down your face. "Or not, it's up to you-" he begins to add, but you shake your head, and then nod your head. "You're right," you say, feeling sudden relief, now feeling empowered to not stay in a place where you don't feel welcomed or comfortable. "Let's go," you add. When you are finally in the car, driving home, he cannot help but hide a small smile. "I'm proud of you, (Y/N)," he says, gently.
Taehyung
"How can I help?" he asks when he finally gets you alone, desperation coating his voice. "I don't want to be here anymore," you say in between sobs. "Then we're gone," he says, simply. He guides you to the car and buckles you in before he goes inside to get your stuff. When he returns, you ask him if your family said anything else. He tells you 'no,' and says nothing more as he backs out of the driveway. However, after 10 minutes of driving, he pulls over, his hands visibly shaking. You take his hands to steady them. "Thank you," you whisper.
Jungkook
"I don't know why I let them get to me," you admit as you take a walk with him after the argument. He holds onto your hand tightly as if letting go is not a possibility. "I know they are just looking for a reaction," you continue, "But I can't help it." He gently bumps your shoulder with his. "They always back you into a corner," he begins, "It makes sense that you want to fight your way out." "Well, I think I'm done fighting," you sigh, "This can't be the rest of my life." He nods knowingly. "It's OK if you don't want to come back," he reassures you.
65. When he dates an ARMY: Posters in your old bedroom (request)
OK, this was surely coincidental, but some of the requests I received the other night felt like a tiny journey. Yesterday was 'when you're homesick,' today is 'posters in your old bedroom' (as if you had the chance to travel to see your family, and now he is seeing your childhood/teenage bedroom for the first time).
Namjoon
"You know what," you say, hesitating in the doorway of your old bedroom, "You go without me. I'll just stay in the hallway." "Nope," he says, gently grabbing your wrist. You cannot help but feel this is his revenge for all the times you've teased him. "This isn't even bad," he says, seeing just the one poster of him on the wall he is facing. "Joonie, turn around," you whisper, mortified. He turns and takes in the wall that is covered in posters, floor-to-ceiling. He begins to laugh at you.
Seokjin
You sigh in relief when you and him first step into your old bedroom, with you just being happy there isn't anything too incriminating. But that happiness only lasts until you close the door, revealing a nearly life size poster of Jin on the back of it. He doesn't notice at first but is quickly clued in by your sudden silence. "I want the ground to swallow me whole," you deadpan while he could not be more elated. "Yah, (Y/N)," he exclaims, "How long have you had this WWH?"
Yoongi
"But why are they framed?" he asks when he sees them, so used to posters being hung up with tape or tacks. He then notices your albums carefully packaged in plastic, as if they are collectible comic books. "Because I thought they might be worth something one day," you say, simply. His jaw drops. "You're not the only one who wanted a big house, big car, big ring," you explains. With a laugh, he pulls you close to him. "I think I just feel in love with you more," he says.
Hoseok
His initial reaction of seeing the posters is unusually calm, but fast forward to the middle of the night. "Jagiya," he whispers. You hum in response, still half-asleep. "Jagiya," he hisses now, which gets your attention. You ask him what's wrong. "He's scaring me," he says, looking in the direction of the poster of him, which is taped to your old bedroom's ceiling. In the darkness, the only features you can make out are his eyes and his teeth. "He won't bite," you mumble.
Jimin
He is all smiles and giggles until he steps into your old bedroom and comes face-to-face with HYYH Jimin hanging on your wall. His expression is hard to read. "I'm leaving," he says, jokingly, slowly turning around. His name leaves your lips in a whine as you grab his hand. "Either I go," he says before turning to look at the poster and points at it, "Or he goes. Which is it, (Y/N)?" You look between him and the poster. "You're actually going to make me choose?" you ask.
Taehyung
He's been waiting for this moment. You told him about the posters of him during a moment of weakness one time, and he has never forgotten. Before he even enters your old bedroom he has the camera app opened on his phone. And after getting over the initial shock of seeing them, he gently guides you to stand in front of one. "Smile, (Y/N)," he says, giddily, "No, actually smile. I want to get a picture of the both of you." You gasp, "We could just take a selfie, Tae."
Jungkook
He pauses when he steps forward to get a closer look at the poster of him. He bends at his hips, his face now inches from the piece of paper hanging on the wall. "Why is there a lipstick mark?" he asks. Your eyes widen as horror floods through your body. "No, there isn't," you immediately deny, rushing forward to see for yourself. He points at two faint, red marks. You scream. You didn't know it was possible to blush this hard. "It wasn't me," you yell, collapsing face first onto the bed.
He wakes up in the middle of the night and finds your side of the bed empty. When he finds you, you're sitting by the windows in the living room. "Can't sleep?" he asks, quietly, already knowing the answer. You shake your head. "I love being here, in Seoul, with you," you say, still looking out at the city, "But I miss my old home sometimes." You finally look at him, "Is that bad?" "Stand up," he says. When you do, he sits down before pulling you into his lap, arms wrapping around you. "There is nothing wrong with feeling like that," he reassures you.
Seokjin
Your feelings of being homesick lingers. As days pass, Jin grows more worried until he thinks of something he can do to help. When you get home from work, you're met with a familiar aroma. "Jin?" you call. "In here," he calls back. You find him in the kitchen, cooking one of your family's recipes. When he sees you, he smiles. "(Y/N)," he says, motioning to the pan on the stove, "I need you to taste this - tell me if something is missing." Overwhelmed by this gesture, you try to thank him but he all but shoves a spoon into your mouth. "Good?" he asks.
Yoongi
He finds you with your laptop open in split-view, one tab open to your calendar, and another tab open with available flights. When you look at him, he just knows. It's been too long since you last saw your family. He sits beside you. "Tell me the dates, and I'll book everything," he says, simply. You try to argue, but he cuts you off. "It is the least I can do for you, (Y/N)," he continues, gently. Later on, when you've put in for PTO and he has booked your flights, you hug him tightly. "Thank you, Yoongi," you breathe, suddenly relieved.
Hoseok
While spending one afternoon decluttering your apartment, you come across a scrapbook with photos of your family that you made before moving to Seoul. He sees your shoulders slump as you run one hand over the cover. Being all too familiar with what you're feeling, he moves to your side. "Let's look through it," he says with no other explanation. "We still have so much to do," you say, but he shakes his head. "That can wait," he reassures you, offering a gentle smile, "Tell me about the photos, about your family. I want to hear more about them."
Jimin
You stayed strong as long as possible. But as soon as you hang up the FaceTime call with your family, you crumble. "(Y/N), what's the matter?" he asks, immediately moving to collect you in his arms. He uses his sleeve to wipe the tears rolling down your face. "I miss them, Jimin," you say in between sobs. He gently shushes you, pulling you tighter to his body. "I know it's hard," he says, "But we'll see them in a few weeks. You just have to wait a little longer." You nod before apologizing for crying. "You have nothing to be sorry about," he says.
Taehyung
“What happened? Are you OK?” he immediately asks when he finds you crying. You're homesick. "I'll be right back, (Y/N)," he eventually says, "I promise." You figure he is grabbing you tissues, or water, or both. He does, but when he comes back, he is also holding his phone out to you. On the screen, you see that he is mid-phone call with someone. And when you look closer at the phone number he has dialed, you realize it's the number of the family member you're closest to. "Someone wants to talk to you," he says, gently.
Jungkook
It comes on suddenly when you're doing errands with him, something (a smell or a sight or a feeling) triggers it. One moment you're fine, and the next you're missing home (and you feel bad because you're not thinking of the home you've built with Jungkook). He quickly guides you to your vehicle as you do your best to regulate your breathing. In the car, he pulls your mask off and tucks a few stray hairs behind your ear. "It's OK, (Y/N)," he reassures you when finally manage to say what's wrong, "We'll figure out how to get through this."
Thank you again for all the requests the other night! This is one of them. IRL this probably looks a lot different, but for our purposes, ‘signing the NDA’ aka ‘they’re worried and you’re like, “just give me the papers.”’
Namjoon
He sits beside you in a boardroom on one of the top floors of the HYBE building. You stifle a yawn as a lawyer speaks at you about the NDA sitting in front of you. When the lawyer takes a pause, you hold out your hand. The lawyer looks at your hand with wide eyes. "Pen, please," you say, simply. Namjoon flinches. "Are you sure you don't have any questions?" Namjoon asks. You shake your head. "It's pretty straightforward," you say, "Keep quiet or get sued. Pen, please."
Seokjin
After signing the NDA, you leave the conference room with the confidence of someone who was just given official permission from a major corporation to date your idol boyfriend (in exchange for your silence). Jin follows behind you, filled with worry. When you're in the elevator, he looks at you. "Are you OK?" he asks. You look back at him and smile brightly. "Yes," you say, truthfully, "There's nothing to worry about. And even if they sued me, what assets do I actually have?"
Yoongi
As he returns to Genius Lab, a cup of coffee in hand, he senses movement inside the room. He slowly opens the door to find you (you had arrived while he had stepped out), sitting at his desk, NDA in front of you (he asked to receive a copy to talk to you about it first, as opposed to a HYBE bigwig), flipping through each page, signing each highlighted spot. "(Y/N)?" he questions. "I'm almost done, Yoongi," you say, cheerfully, clearly unbothered by signing your life away.
Hoseok
One Sunday morning, when you're still cuddling in bed, he thinks to himself, how is this so relaxing? However, no sooner does he finish that thought that you break the silence. "Don't I have to sign papers to date you?" you ask. You're not mad or upset, just curious. "Jagiya?" he questions. "You know, like an NDA," you continue. He hesitates because the answer is technically 'yes.' You can feel his body tense with nerves. "It's OK, Hobi," you say, "It doesn't matter to me."
Jimin
He stops by your apartment to talk to you about the NDA. "They're going to send you an email," he warns you. "Another one?" you question. He asks what you mean. "I already received one," you explain, "I just signed the papers digitally and sent them back." Jimin gawks at you. "Just like that?" he finally asks. You nod your head, not picking up on his surprise. "Just like that," you affirm, brightly, "I figured the sooner I sign, the better. You know how corporations are."
Taehyung
"'The receiver is hereby obligated to safeguard any confidential information they may intentionally or accidentally receive,'" you read aloud, "So you mean I can't leak BTS tour dates on the internet?" Taehyung laughs, the lawyer sitting across from you doesn't. "Tough crowd," you say under your breath as you begin to sign. The lawyer begins to comment something about 'not taking this seriously,' but Tae interrupts him, "It was a joke. I trust (Y/N) with all of my being."
Jungkook
One evening, he asks you to tagalong with him to a practice room so he can work through a few vocal exercises. You step out to grab water for you and him. However, many minutes pass and you don't return. When he decides he should go find you, you step back into the room. He asks where you were and you shrug, "Some dude in a suit found me and brought me a few floors up to sign a NDA. It was kind of weird, but I think we're good now." You try to hand a water bottle to him.
Thank you @diabolicallyserenevow for the request. I definitely took some liberties with your request, I really hope you don't mind. As I began to write, it basically turned into a "soulmates meeting"/"when soulmates look into each others' eyes for the first time." Also, I haven't read many soulmate fics - I'm sorry for any mistakes I made!
Namjoon
He ambles along the aisles of the used bookstore, not looking for anything in particular, one finger tracing the spines of books as he moves pass them. One book catches his eye first and he stops. However, it is quickly forgotten when he makes eye contact with you through a gap in the books, where you’re in the next aisle. When you look at him, it feels like everything shifts. This is it, he thinks. He raises his arm and pushes some of the books further to the side so he can see you better. You smile brightly at him. “Hi,” you say, “I’m (Y/N).” You reach through the gap to shake his hand.
Seokjin
On his way to go fishing, he realizes he doesn't have any bait. With an exasperated sigh, he stops at a gas station that has a large "we sell bait" sign in their window. The cashier at the counter lazily points to a cooler in the back when Jin asks. As Jin walks down the aisle, he is mildly aware of a faint whistling in the next aisle. The hairs on the back of his neck stand up. When he reaches the cooler, he pulls the door open. Just as he reaches for one of the containers, your hand reaches for the same cup. He begins to argue but when he meets your eyes, he stops. How am I already hooked on them? he wonders.
Yoongi
You’re BigHit’s newest producer - whispers about your unlimited potential follow you. However, in one of your first meetings, your voice is quickly drowned out by the other producers. Yoongi notices. Later on, he finds you standing in front of a vending machine, hoping an ultra-processed snack will quell your imposter syndrome. “You’re doing great,” he offers without a greeting, “It just takes time.” You meet his gaze (somehow for the first time), and the sound of the snack dropping sounds like a bomb being dropped. He only seems to notice. He swallows the lump in his throat. “I’m Yoongi.”
Hoseok
After a friend of a friend tells him about a dance class of an up-and-coming choreographer, he decides to attend for the fun of it. He notices you in the mirror, after the warm-up, two rows behind him. You make eye contact with him and for a moment everything melts away, the music, the other people. It’s just you and him, in the mirror. After class, you both linger. As he is gathering his stuff, trying to figure out his next move, you approach him. “I have an extra water bottle if you want it,” you say, cringing inwardly. Lame, you think to yourself, but he instantly smiles. “Thanks,” he says, gently.
Jimin
At first, he believes it is the heavy trance music accompanying the fashion show happening in front of him, pulsing through the speakers, that is making him feel weird. He feels like his heart has synced with the bass. However, through the avant-garde garments passing by, he makes eye contact with you, sitting across from him, the runway separating the both of you. Being aware of the people and cameras around you, neither of you react. However, after the show is complete, he follows you to an empty hallway somewhere else in building. “I’m (Y/N),” you tell him, warmly.
Taehyung
Standing at one of his favorite spots by the river, he looks through the viewfinder of his camera, preparing to line up his next shot. However, when he moves just a little to the right, you come into view, doing exactly the same as him. He lowers his camera. You lower your camera. When you make eye contact, he feels like the earth rumbles below him. Trying to play it cool, he raises his hand and gives a small wave. You do the same. With a boxy grin spreading across his face, he begins walking towards you, a small bounce in his step. When he reaches you, you beam. “I’m (Y/N).”
Jungkook
You actually see Bam before you see him. As you are going over a small hill in the hiking trail, a dog comes bounding in the opposite direction, leash trailing behind him. “Bam, no!” a voice yells, but you can’t see the person yet. The dog - Bam? - stops short when he sees you and sits down, looking at you curiously. You take a few more steps and finally see Bam’s owner, who also stops short when you make eye contact. “I’m really sorry,” he says, cheeks flushing red, still holding the eye contact, “I don’t know what happened, I promise I’m not an irresponsible dog owner.” You giggle, “I’m (Y/N).”
OK, apparently I'm a liar. This request just felt time sensitive. I mean, how could I post this on the 26th? Tomorrow, I'm still planning on posting the Soulmate AU request.
Namjoon
You stand back to assess your Christmas tree, to determine if it needs any final touches, when you hear him begin to giggle behind you. You turn and find him standing in the living room doorway. "Why are you standing there, Joonie?" you ask. He points above him. Your eyes follow where he is pointing and find that he has hung mistletoe - his one contribution to the decorations. "Come here, (Y/N)," he says. "That's not how it works," you laugh, but you still go to him anyway.
Seokjin
"OK, Leader (Y/N)," he says as you begin to decorate your tree, "Just tell me what to do." He happily follows your instructions as you dictate what is next - tree skirt, lights, bulbs, and then all other ornaments. He waits patiently as you determine if you need to add another strings of lights, or if an ornament should go higher or lower. At the end, he asks for a performance review as you hug him tightly. "Thank you so much, Jin," you say, "It looks amazing."
Yoongi
He nearly has a heart attack when he turns around one for moment, and then turns back around to find you standing precariously on a creaky, kitchen chair, one leg in the air to counterbalance yourself, trying to hang garland in a hard-to-reach spot. "(Y/N), I can do it," he says. You stop and look at him as if you don't believe him. Brat, he thinks to himself. "Let me the get stepladder, at least," he adds, holding out his hand to help you down, which you gratefully take.
Hoseok
You and Hoseok are a happy couple. You never argue. Disagreements are solved maturely. That is until you have to decide on the color scheme of your decorations. Your "debate" is going on hour two. He is pacing, you're sitting on the couch with your face in your hands. "Hobi," you say, curtly, "Red and green." "(Y/N)," he mimics you, "Silver and gold." You finally hold out one fist. "Rock, paper, scissors," you declare, "I'm not letting our relationship end over colors."
Jimin
Initially believing decorating your tree would be tedious work, you and Jimin find times passes by quickly - you're just happy to be spending time together. However, when you stand back to see the final product, both of your jaws drop. "I don't know how this happened," he says in disbelief. "Did we have our eyes closed this entire time?" you question. You cannot take your eyes off the unbalanced tree, which has most of its decorations on its left side.
Taehyung
"Stop looking at me like that," he laughs when he catches you staring. "Stop distracting me," you say, bashfully, as you continue to hang an ornament on your tree. He pauses and then says, "Come here." He gently grabs your wrist and pulls you to him. He begins swaying you to the soft, Christmas-y jazz playing in the background. He hums along with the melody, making you bury your face in the crook of his neck. "I'm sorry," he teases, "Is that what was distracting you?"
Jungkook
"You're going to hurt yourself," you warn as you watch him carry your Christmas tree into your apartment, making your heart thump in your chest. "No, I'm not," he argues as waddles by, bear hugging the tree. "Let me help, Kook," you try again, "You can't even see." He tries to deny it but as he passes through the doorway of the living room, he bounces off the door jamb, sending pine needles everywhere. He pauses and then relents, "Would you mind guiding me, baby?"
Continuation of 'when you break up.' I told you we would get through this. I didn't stretch this one out. All of them end on a half-sad/half-fluffy note, like everything will be OK eventually.
Namjoon
Days after breaking up, you return to get the rest of your things. He is there, but he gives you space by hiding in the guest room. He does his best to distract himself, but when he hears you sniffle, he stops. He can tell your sniffles slowly turn into tears. He goes back and forth whether or not he should you leave alone, but he eventually leaves the guest room to find you. "(Y/N)?" he questions when he does, making sure he leaves enough space between you. You wipe your tears. "Sorry, Joonie," you flinch at using your nickname for him, "I'll be gone soon." "I don't want that," he says before he can stop himself, "I want you to stay." You slowly turn to look at him. "This doesn't feel right," he continues, "I know we're not OK, but I don't think we're done." Your tears fall faster. "I want to stay, too," you admit.
Seokjin
With the members being the biggest shippers of you and Jin, they invite you out to dinner. "Jin is busy, he won't be there," Jimin lies. When you arrive, Jin is definitely there, and the only empty seat is next to him. Bastards, you think to yourself as you sit down. Throughout dinner, Jin remains silent while you pretend he doesn't exist. However, when you crack a joke, he laughs. Like actually laughs, windshield wipers on and all. You look at him, and he meets your gaze. The members pretend not to notice. When dinner is over, he walks you to your car. He tells himself it means nothing but he also finds himself telling you, "I didn't think I would see you again." "Well, I was hoping I would see you again," you admit. You look at each other again. "(Y/N), I miss you so much it hurts," he admits. "Me too, Jin."
Yoongi
You stare down at the familiar doormat, the one with the cat flipping you off. Despite the regret and embarrassment you feel for standing there, you had had a terrible day, and you didn't have anyone to turn to. Well, maybe, except for one person. Or maybe not. You raise your fist and knock on the studio door exactly three times. You don't expect him to answer, but the door swings open quickly, as if he knew who was knocking. But he still stops when he sees, the surprise evident on his face. When he doesn't say anything, you begin turning around, eye burning, "I shouldn't be-" He gently grabs your wrist and pulls you back to him. "Why didn't you use the code?" he asks as if you hadn't broken up weeks ago. You meet his gaze, and something clicks. "We're idiots," you say to him, and he nods in agreement.
Hoseok
He has a whole speech planned in order to win you back, but all of the words leave his brain the moment you open the door. You stand still, surprised to see him - you opened the door because you thought it was your takeout delivery. You prefer this visitor, you think before you can stop yourself. "Jagiya," he says, stepping forward, taking one of your hands in his. You let him. "I've made so many mistakes," he continues, "There is so many things I should have said to you; so many things I should have done for you. I don't expect you to forgive me, but I was hoping, maybe, we could talk? At least for a little while?" You nod, making space for him to step inside. You don't let go of his hand, though - you still feel so much hurt and anger, but the thought of having space between you again is too much to bare.
Jimin
After spending days in bed, missing you, he emerges from his blanket cocoon like a butterfly, ready to try something different. He convinces you to be "just friends." Which seems to work out well, especially weeks later when you go out with friends. He spends all of dinner eye fucking you, and not bothering to hide it. Then when you go out dancing, his hands immediately find your body, guiding you onto the dance floor. As your bodies grind against one another, you realize that you don't hate this. In fact, you fucking love it. You love how he is looking at you. You love the way he is touching you. You still love him. So when he takes you home, and he has you pressed against the back of your front door, lips trailing down your neck, you breathe, "'Just friends' was never going to work, was it?"
Taehyung
Even with so much distance between you and him, you cannot help the jealousy that begins to build inside you when you see news stories about him and other women. You tell yourself everything from 'it doesn't matter' to 'it's AI, fake,' but eventually you find yourself on his door step, searching for closure you didn't know you needed. He immediately knows the reason for your visit, so he gently tugs you inside and closes the door behind you. He's so relieved to see you. And when you struggle to speak, he fills the silence, "None of it is true, you know. I haven't been with anyone since you." You look up at him. "Don't let me be the reason that stops you," you force yourself to say, "You deserve to be happy." His laugh is harsh. "The only person that makes me happy is you," he replies, "That hasn't changed."
Jungkook
You block Jungkook's phone number for approximately three days before you break. When you unblock him, you don't text him or call him immediately, afraid that he blocked you, too. However, you don't have to wait very long before you hear a 'ping' from your phone. You slowly pick up you phone, nervous to see if it is from him. It is. Please answer me. Are you doing OK, baby? he texted you. Your stomach drops. You begin to text him back before deciding to call him. He picks up on the first ring. "(Y/N)?" he asks, hurriedly. You swallow a sob that is forming in your throat. "I don't know what to do, Kook," you cry. You think he is crying, too. "It's OK, (Y/N)," he replies, "Just talk to me." You nod even though he can't see you. "I miss you," you reply. "And I miss you," he says, "Can I come see you?" You tell him 'yes.'
