05 again???!?!
Later that day, MN left the lecture hall, keeping his head down as he shoved his notebook into his bag. He didn’t notice Mark lingering by the door until it was too late.
“Hey,” Mark said, falling into step beside him.
“Oh,” MN replied, trying to act casual. “Hi.”
“I think I’ve seen you before,” Mark said, his tone light but curious.
“Yeah, maybe,” MN muttered, his heart pounding.
“You listen to Late Night 127, right?”
The question hit MN like a freight train. He stopped walking, turning to look at Mark. “How do you know that?”
Mark grinned, his expression unreadable. “Let’s just say… I have a good memory.”
MN felt his stomach twist. Was it possible that Mark knew more than he was letting on? Or was he just imagining things?
“Anyway,” Mark continued, “if you ever feel like calling in, maybe I’ll hear from you.”
And with that, he walked off, leaving MN standing frozen in the hallway, notebook clutched to his chest.

03 collision course
The campus café was unusually busy, and MN was already regretting his decision to grab a coffee between classes. Balancing his laptop and books in one arm, he navigated through the crowd, muttering apologies every time he bumped into someone.
At the counter, Mark stood, waiting for his order. He looked up briefly, just as MN stumbled forward, nearly colliding with him.
“Whoa, you good?” Mark asked, steadying MN with a quick grip on his arm.
“Yeah, sorry,” MN mumbled, cheeks flushing as he adjusted his books.
“No problem,” Mark replied with an easy smile, stepping aside to let MN get to the counter.
The brief interaction could have ended there, but MN’s eyes caught on the notebook Mark held under his arm, the edges frayed from constant use. Scribbled on the cover was the unmistakable logo of Late Night 127.
For a moment, MN froze.
“Nice notebook,” he said, trying to sound casual.
Mark glanced down at it, his smile turning sheepish. “Oh, this? Yeah, I’m a fan of the show.”
“Same,” MN said, his heart racing. “I listen all the time.”
Mark raised an eyebrow, amused. “All the time? Like, every night?”
MN shrugged, feeling oddly self-conscious. “It’s… relaxing, I guess.”
“Well,” Mark said, his voice laced with curiosity, “you must have some favorite episodes, then.”
“Yeah,” MN replied, a little too quickly. “The ones where they give advice are my favorite. The host always seems to know exactly what to say.”
Mark chuckled, adjusting the strap of his bag. “That’s cool. I mean, the host probably just speaks from the heart, you know? Tries to connect with people.”
MN nodded, glancing at the clock on the café wall. “I should, uh, get going. Nice meeting you.”
“Yeah, you too,” Mark said, watching as MN hurried off with his coffee.
As MN disappeared into the crowd, Mark couldn’t help but grin. There was something oddly familiar about him

02 radio crush
The morning sun peeked through the curtains, forcing MN out of bed earlier than he wanted. He groaned, grabbing his bag and mentally preparing for another day at university. The combination of a packed schedule and last night’s Late Night 127 still playing in his head wasn’t ideal, but at least campus life offered distractions.
As he walked through the bustling courtyard, MN’s phone buzzed.
MN shook his head with a small laugh and entered the lecture hall. As he settled into his seat, Eunseok slid in beside him, coffee in hand.
“You look like you didn’t sleep,” Eunseok said, raising an eyebrow.
“I didn’t,” MN replied. “Blame that stupid radio show.”
Eunseok chuckled. “Still obsessed with Late Night 127, huh?”
“Not obsessed,” MN muttered, suddenly defensive. “It’s just… relatable sometimes.”
“Uh-huh.” Eunseok smirked knowingly.
Before MN could respond, the professor began the lecture, pulling up a presentation titled “The Power of Radio in Modern Media.” MN blinked. Of all days, why was this the topic now?
———————————————————————————————
As the lecture wrapped up, MN found himself lingering behind while most students filed out. The discussion on radio culture and its impact had unexpectedly hit close to home.
Wonbin finally showed up, throwing himself into the seat beside MN. “Did I miss anything good?”
“The whole lecture,” Eunseok deadpanned. “But hey, MN was practically glowing when they talked about radio hosts. I wonder why.”
MN glared at him. “I wasn’t glowing. And shut up.”
Wonbin grinned. “Let me guess—Rem came up?”
“No,” MN snapped, a little too quickly.
Jisung, who had appeared out of nowhere, chimed in. “Are we talking about that radio guy? The one MN never stops mentioning?”
“I don’t mention him that much!” MN said, voice rising a bit.
Haechan’s voice rang out from behind them as he leaned against the lecture hall doorframe. “Liar. You’re basically Late Night 127’s PR team at this point.”
“Why are all of you like this?” MN groaned, burying his face in his hands. “Can we not do this here?”

00
It was just past midnight when mn picked up his phone. A soft glow illuminated the dark room, and the sound of his fingers tapping against the screen seemed louder than usual in the quiet of the apartment. He had been pacing around for the past hour, his thoughts racing, replaying every cringey moment of the disaster that was his date.
He didn’t even know why he agreed to it. The guy was nice enough, sure, but there was no chemistry. It felt forced, awkward, and everything that could go wrong, did. The conversation died halfway through the meal, and by the time he left, he felt more drained than he’d ever been. He sighed deeply, closing his eyes as he pulled up the number for the late-night radio station.
Late Night 127.
He’d been listening to the show for a while, never really thinking about calling in. But tonight, the urge to vent was too strong. The host—rem, as he called himself—was soothing in his tone, offering advice and playing great music to calm anyone who needed it. Maybe talking to him would make him feel better. Maybe hearing his voice would help clear his mind.
He took a deep breath before hitting the dial button.
———————————————————————————————
“You’re on the air with Late Night 127! Who’s calling tonight?” the familiar voice asked, calm yet upbeat.
He hesitated. His heart was already thumping in his chest. He had expected him to sound more like a radio host, but Mark’s voice was oddly comforting, like an old friend.
“Hi, uh… it’s me,sorry um I’m mn,” he stammered, trying to keep his voice steady. “I don’t really know how to start this, but… I went on this date tonight, and it was a complete disaster.”
There was a soft chuckle from the other side. “Oh no, sounds like you’re in need of some advice. Go ahead, tell me everything.”
He took another breath, gathering his thoughts. “So, I met this guy through a mutual friend, right? We decided to grab dinner, and everything started fine. But then… I don’t know. We had nothing to talk about. The conversation was like pulling teeth. And he kept checking his phone. At one point, I literally had to sit there in silence while he replied to texts! I just… I felt like such an idiot.”
He paused, waiting for Rem’s response. The silence felt longer than it should’ve, but when he spoke again, his voice was calm and understanding.
“That sounds really tough. Honestly, it’s hard when the connection isn’t there. It’s like you’re trying to force something that isn’t meant to happen, right?” Rem said. His voice was smooth, like he truly understood what he was feeling. “I think sometimes people forget how important it is to connect on a deeper level, not just go through the motions of a date.”
He nodded, even though Rem couldn’t see him. “Yeah, exactly! I don’t even know why I agreed to go out with him. It felt like a waste of time. And now I’m wondering if I’ll ever find someone I actually click with.”
Rem’s voice softened a little. “Don’t be too hard on yourself. A bad date doesn’t mean you won’t find someone. Sometimes, it just takes time to meet the right person. And honestly, if the date felt off, maybe that’s a sign that it wasn’t meant to work out. That’s okay.”
His words were like a balm to his frazzled nerves. Maybe it was just the way Rem spoke, or maybe it was the comforting tone he always had on the show, but for some reason, hearing those words from him made him feel better. He let out a sigh, this time of relief instead of frustration.
“Thanks, Rem. I really needed to hear that.” He couldn’t help but smile a little, even though he was still feeling the sting of the night’s awkwardness. “It just… it feels like everything goes wrong sometimes.”
“You know what they say,” Rem said with a playful tone, “Sometimes you have to go through a few awkward moments to find something real. It’s all part of the journey.”
His heart fluttered, and for a moment, he almost forgot he was just one of many callers. Rem’s voice was soothing, like a secret friend who always knew the right thing to say. But then, reality hit. “Yeah… I guess you’re right.”
“Well, I hope that helps,” Rem said, sounding genuine. “And just remember, you’re not alone in this. We all go through these moments. I’m sure there’s someone out there who’s going to click with you—no awkward silences involved.”
He smiled, feeling a little lighter than before. “Thanks again. You’re the best.”
“Anytime,” rem replied warmly. “Goodnight, and take care.”
