Nalu wedding prep! Don’t ask me about the Natsu’s scarf! It’s as long as I want it to be!!!

I wish I could write fanfic for these two so bad. Thought I would leave some HCs whilst before I leave for the weekend.
Nalu wedding is a rollercoaster process
Natsu of course is happy to marry Lucy as long as the guild is around and there is food galore. Heck he will do it right now!
Lucy wants similar but wants all the milestones; bridesmaids groomsmen, rings, cake, reception and a dress! She also wants photos/ reedus to paint it! She also has a long list of people to invite! Other guilds so RSPVs will need to go out! And what font will look prettiest? Her spirits will also need to be there of course so she needs to find a way to arrange that too! Yes it doesn’t need to be fancy but she has dreams, damn it!
Natsu and Happy decided to take a step back.
A date is arranged and the stress dials up.
Lucy says she will take over she is the visionary, big mistake because now she is planning a big event on her own. The guild members help of course.
Guild members start to softly prod Natsu to see how Lucy is.
It’s all ramping up Lucy asks him what shade of napkins they should use. But aren’t they both white??? 💥 explosion. Tears. The wedding will be a disaster.
Natsu and Lucy have a heart to heart. Lucy and Natsu (another HC of mine) have had a similar hurdle where Lucy loves Natsu and his big sweeping gestures and relaxed love language but her love language is also the textbook romance. Dates and flowers. This wedding is the same issue. Natsu agrees that he will take a lot of decisions off of Lucy and not treat all the small choices as no big deal. Lucy will communicate better and not bottle up her expectations on Natsu.
A flower arrangement is shown to him and he has to decide if this is something Lucy would like and will it fit Lucy’s theme. He has sat down and read her entire binder (it is nearly as long as her debut novel).
Natsu’s suit arrives and he hates it but oh well Lucy will be happy. Lucy asks to see how it fits and sees how it just doesn’t suit Natsu. She does some research on Alvarez wedding and drags Natsu to a store a few towns over.
Natsu and Lucy finally see how this can be so special and personal to them. Natsu didn’t realise how much he likes the idea of sentimentality he can bring to this and immediately wants to edit Lucy’s catering plans. Lucy is touched at his enthusiasm and seeing Natsu in his grooms-wear makes her finally release this textbook format she had in her head of how this wedding should go wasn’t right for them.
They both had the right idea at the start but Lucy began to spiral and Natsu was too removed. They’re partners after all so teamwork was the only option.
Happy wears the suit, as Natsu’s best man.
I will edit and tidy this later. This is not Natsu’s final groom outfit! I am still figuring the colours out and of course he will appear with the bride!
not to get overly poetic about it but...nalu as a dynamic is kinda crazy to me like. what if we were best friends? what if we were kinda silly and ridiculous and stupid about each other? what if we were connected across time and space for 400 years? what if we bumped into each other on a random tuesday? what if you changed my life? what if we had a dogged, unwavering and irrational faith in each other right from the get go? what if the greatest tragedy of my life was directly linked to the greatest tragedy of yours? what if, in a different timeline, i watched you and the rest of my friends die, and there was nothing i could do about it? what if i watched a future version of you die and i sobbed over your broken body? what if you were my last tether to humanity? what if i broke the laws of magic to save you? what if you came back to me in the place we first met? what if we were meant to be in every single universe? what if we still chose each other, every single time, anyway?
people really don't appreciate lucy's specific brand of insanity enough imo. she's really just like.
