So in Undergrowth, my idea is that Arti's explosive powers are a decent bit different from their game counterpart:
They are not exclusive to Artificer. In Undergrowth, there is a ritual involving the regular consumption of fire powder over the course of a month that gradually changes the user's physiology. Fire powder, aside from being used for explosives, also has medicinal purposes killing parasites; it's usually consumed for three days to simulate induce a harsh fever and make the body inhospitable to things like worms, but it feels so awful that it makes some people want to die. The fire powder ritual involves regularly consuming fire powder for an entire month or more.
These changes cause the body to start naturally producing the same combustive compounds as you'd find in fire powder, significantly increase the acidity of the gut biome, elevate the internal body temperature, and make the body a decent bit more resistant to the kind of heat and concussive blasts made by explosions.
The production of explosive compounds are usually manifested in volatile and highly acidic bile, and the ability to produce both sparks and combustible or inert smoke from the mouth.
While this all means that Artificer's not going to be bomb jumping frequently or with as much agility as in the game, but she can do stuff like make bombs on the fly, create smokescreens, start fires, and with the right setup, make combustible clouds that she can use to bomb jump.
It's just as well because in my work, my Arti's strong and tenacious, but not much of a one-on-one fighter. Instead, she's great at guerilla tactics, causing chaos, and disrupting groups. She got her reputation as an arsonist rather than for single-handedly slaughtering the scavenger population.
All of these drawings are based on years old sketches. I redrew the first two to answer this question, but not the last one. They should give an idea of what I'm going for with the explosive smoke.
