Geonna liked to think she was different. Unique. She still finger-paints. She kayaks. Occasionally she goes to the mall in workout gear and jogs up the side of the escalator that goes down â but she isnât unique. The word in itself is practically useless, especially considering the fact that a majority of Geonnaâs interests are shared â one of which are children. Her eyes widened at the sighting of the sleeping child, and soon fingertips pressed against her lip to silence the otherwise inevitable awwwww. âOf course, I would not keep from sharing with another. Too selfish. I am Italian not French, hm?â A small smirk pulled, delicately, at the corner of her lips. âCristo, many bags. No need to go to the gym. You are babysitter or she is your sisterâŠor your very own?â
The reaction of his opposite wasnât an uncommon one to receive. Mari was a cutie, to say the least. With her dark complexion, dark afro-curled locks and her chubby cheeks with a smile to die for it was impossible not to go googoo-gah over her. âSo thatâs where the accent is from. Italy, yeah? Itâs odd that youâd move from such a cultural country to... here.â Keanu was not a Wilmington native but it wasnât exactly a choice to live here. After been ostracized by his own family and the mother of his daughter ran away, escaping to a new town seemed like the best idea. This one just so happened to had been the winner. âNo time to work out,â he chuckled, motioning to the little girl in his arms. It was also not uncommon for others to assume that Marika wasnât his. It was her Ethopian side that threw them off. Different skin tones, different hair textures. The only physical attributes they shared was their rounded nose and oval eyes. Not to mention he was still so young. âSheâs mine,â he confirmed, smiling wide and proud. âAll mine. Wouldnât change a thing about that.â
