I just want to remind you that sometimes your life really doesn't begin until you are 26+... Romanticizing and obsessing over our youth is harmful. Growing up is beautiful. Discovering who you are and how you interact with the world is a gift. Maturing and learning what you truly want out of life and living in that purpose brings fulfillment and peace. Your life is not over in your early 20's because you haven't figured it out yet, it's just beginning.
Be excessive, be obsessive about what you truly want. There is no other option but getting what you want. You will work harder than you could imagine, there will be sleepless nights and probably you won't even have time to eat. But don't stop. Yes, for a long time it will be CHAOS, confusion. But let me tell you, THE SATISFACTION you have from the hard work, there is no better feeling than achieving your goal through hard work. And then, THE REGRET you'll have for not doing it will eat you alive. YOUR CHOICE
stop. pick up the journal. speak to yourself gently. sit down. have a cup of tea. the world isn't ending even if it feels like it constantly is. what made you upset? how are you feeling? did you hydrate yourself enough today? ate a piece of fruit and watch the sky, soak in some warmth? pick up a random book you want to read and indulge yourself for a moment. better yet, flip it to a random page and read the passage. splash some water on your face, move your legs a little, shake your wrist. i know all you can think of is it's hard, it's hard, it's hard and i will commiserate with you and say that it is. so have some gentleness instead. we all need it. give yourself a taste of it.
STOP THINKING THERE IS A DEADLINE. THERE IS NO DEADLINE. TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND TAKE YOUR TIME.
“This life is mine alone. So, I have stopped asking people for directions to places they’ve never been.”
— Glennon Doyle
