Suddenly, Kamora felt a very familiar hand taking hers. Looking to her side, she spotted Pearl, and flashed a warm smile. Gently squeezing the robotic hand of her companion’s gauntlet, she suddenly had a thought.

Without much warning, Kamora began to lead Pearl into a little dance, not once letting go of her hand.

“Care to dance with me, Pearl~?”

"Oh ho ho” Pearl let out a laugh as Kamora spun her around into a dance. Following Kamora’s lead, the Pearl nodded             “I’d like that” she smiled Pearl hummed a soft tune to herself as the two danced together.

          “Yo, Pearl, check out this bad-boy!” Grinning, Smoky summoned           Steven’s shield and Amethyst’s whip. They tossed the shield into           the air and cracked the whip, catching the shield and transforming it           into their signature yo-yo, which they caught with ease. 

          “Wanna see my tricks? Trust me, they’re a riot.” 

“As long as you don’t break anything..” Pearl said with a sigh.      Even through her complaints, Pearl still had a small smile on her face.      Smoky Quartz’ enthusiasm was definitely refreshing, and Steven’s and Amethyst’s company gave Pearl a new comfort.

     Pearl lowered her body to sit down on the beach, looking up at Smoky in wait of their new tricks.

The pink gem smiled at Pearl and shook her hand gently before letting go of it slowly. Kunzite clasped her hands together and hummed quietly as she looked up at her. “That’s okay, a lot of Pearls that come to this planet arrive alone. So, how did you get to Earth?”

“I just..left” Pearl said with the slightest of shrugs. It was a much longer story than that, but the Pearl was never quick to share it with others.      “This was the nearest planet” She added.

Looking at Kunzite, Pearl tilted her head in question                                                                                      “Are you...”

     “..Part of The Rebellion?” Pearl had heard stories, but nothing more. Her master had cared little over it all.

Kunzite stopped in her tracks and blinked at the unfamiliar Pearl. Realizing she was not part of the Crystal Gems, she became sheepish and glanced away in embarrassment.

“Oh, sorry. I thought you were someone else! My mistake.” She looked up at her slightly and held her hand out to her, as a sign of kindness. “I’m Kunzite, by the way. Are you a Pearl?”

“I uhm..” Pearl whispered under her breath. Still anew to the traditions on Earth, she slowly reached her free hand to meet the other’s. Pearl continued to hold Kunzite’s hand, unsure what to do next, but she seemed to pay no mind by the expression on her face as she answered the other Gem’s question.

“Yes, I am a Pearl” she nodded “I belong to...” her voice turned into a murmur “..I am alone.” Pearl fled from Homeworld, although she had always been an accessory to another Gem, Pearl just now realized that she would have to change her future introductions.

Kamora giggled, holding on as Pearl spun her once. Even after she was set down, she gently held the gem for a moment. “I am! How are you? Are you doing well?”

“I cannot complain” Pearl said with a nod of reassurance. In the presence of Kamora, Pearl always had a brighter smile and attitude. “What plans do you have on your schedule today?”

  Centi struggled to speak any coherent words,  basically trying her best to mimic what Pearl had explained to her just a second ago. it was hard learning a new language, especially when your body wasn’t meant to really project certain tones, and dialects.

    ❝ P—— eaaaaraaal… ❞ She paused, took a breath and spoke again.   ❝ P—eaarawaaaal… ❞ She paused again, face beaming with pride— she felt close to accomplishing her first word… even if it sounded broken and slurred. Centi only hoped that the Pearl gem may be proud as well- she was so excited for praise, her little butt tail was wagging happily in anticipation for approval.

     “O-oh my!” Pearl gave Centi a surprised look. While it wasn’t really what she was going for, Pearl was always happy to see progress.

     “I’m very proud of you” she said, returning the corrupted Gem’s excitement with a warm smile. Pearl’s plan was in motion, although not as smooth as she had planned. If she could teach Centi how to speak in a language Steven understood, he would have no further motivators to learn the Gem language.

     While Pearl was always first to teach Steven any and everything she could with a bright expression, Steven was not ready how to speak and read Gem.

     Plus, Pearl had a new student right in front of her, ready and excited to learn as it seemed.

"Pearl~!" Kamora called out, rushing toward her friend, arms open to embrace her.

“Miss Kamora!” Pearl smiled, catching Kamora and spinning her around once before setting her back down “Are you well today?”
