Rick Danko
storytime!~
Nar couldn't help but feel a little nervous as she busied herself around the house, getting ready for her guests to arrive. Tonight she was having her first annual Christmas get together, with all of Rick's friends and her close friend, Rosie. She worked on setting up the decorations throughout the home, making sure she placed the mistletoe in the appropriate place, by the large window. That way Rick could kiss her in front of the world, where outside the snow fell softly from the sky. Nar smiled to herself, excited for what was ahead. She rested her hand on her tummy, where the little baby resided. Tonight was going to be very special, for everyone. When Rick walked through the door, he immediately pulled Nar in for a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek. She laughed out loud when he learned over and lay his hand on her tummy, greeting his child. "I hope they kick again soon," he said with a huge grin. Nar smiled back, giggling. "I don't! Getting jabbed in the stomach from the inside isn't all that pleasant," she answered, though they both knew this to be untrue. Nothing brought the mother more joy than interacting with her unborn child. 'I'm here!' the baby was saying. 'Pay attention to me!' Rick and Nar enjoyed a few minutes to themselves before Rosie showed up with Levon--as always, she made a grand entrance. She waved her arms in salutations as Lee rolled his eyes playfully. Everything was such a show for his girl. The four of them embraced each other and smiled and laughed at nothing in particular, merely enjoying a special day together. The festivities began shorty thereafter, once the entirety of guests arrived. Rose and Richard both wasted no time in popping open the wine bottles whereas Garth attempted to engage Nar in intelligent conversation. He always had something so interesting to say about whatever music or invention he was currently working on, and he found Nar to be one of the few who listened. Rick reached to grab a bun. But it was too late--Robbie had already snatched it up. The two musicians glared at one another and tension filled the room. Rick looked away first, not wanting to make a big deal out of nothing. Though the bun was clearly his, and Robbie only went after it once he saw Rick reaching first. Classic Robbie Robertson... "I'd like to propose a toast," said Levon suddenly, before anything got out of hand. It was a night of peace after all, of peace and family and togetherness. Rick was going to make sure it was going to stay that way. "To-" "To us!" Rose exclaimed before Lee could even finish his sentence, standing up and raising her nearly empty glass of wine in the air. "And to the future baby," she added with a big smile in Nar's direction. "To aunts, uncles, moms and dads," Nar said, and everyone clinked their glasses together. "That's us," Levon said to Rosie and the couple erupted into giggles. Rose was thrilled to have a part of her friend's life, especially her baby's. Auntie Rose. It had such a ring to it…She hoped for her own baby with Lee soon, but neither of them had even come close to that point as of yet. Besides, she was barely an adult herself, still being nineteen years of age. Most people still looked at Rosie as a baby and in many ways she was. But Lee found that endearing, as did the circle of friends she found herself currently surrounded by. The goose was devoured and the wine flowed steadily; Garth fell asleep with his leg hanging off the side of the couch; Richard and Robbie found themselves in an intense game of Scrabble. Robbie was getting frustrated because Richard kept cheating by making up words that most certainly were not real words. And he knew it! And Rose, ever ridiculous, came to his defense. Garth snored a little and twitched, blissfully unaware. Rick happily assisted Nar in cleaning up the mess her guests left behind. It was all fine for them to eat her food but when it came to the dishes…! She shook her head and giggled to herself. Of course she didn't mind. Especially when Rick gladly have her a hand. It was her chance to kiss him! Right on those lovely lips of his. "Oh, look," Nar said, grabbing a hold of Rick's wrist, gently leading him over by the window. "What?" he asked, adorably oblivious. Nar tilted her chin upwards. "It's a mistletoe. The rules dictate that we kiss now." Rick grinned, his face flushing red. "Well I guess we have to listen to the rules," he said, shrugging his shoulders dramatically. "Nothing else we can do." Nar was about to reply when Rick wrapped his arms around her waist, pulled her close, and passionately pressed his lips against her own. It all happened so fast that she could only sloppily kiss him back, giggling against his mouth. She felt his hands move to her stomach; her heart fluttered, overwhelmed with love. The moment ended when a loud crash! was heard echoing throughout the house. Rick and Nar shared a nervous glance before rushing to the stairs, where--not unexpectedly--Rosie had fallen to her butt. "I'm okay," she said, waving them away. "I didn't spill any," she added proudly, holding up her glass which had miraculously not spilt anywhere. "Silly girl," Nar said as she rolled her eyes and helped her younger friend up. "I think it's time Lee took you home." "Byeee!" Richard said with that sweet as sugar smile of his. He pressed his hands against Nar's tummy. "It's your uncle Richard little one!" he said. "And I can't wait to meet you." Nar gave him a kiss on the cheek and a warm hug, as she did with the rest of her friends. Rosie drunkenly gave her two kisses before Levon gently escorted her away, supporting much of her weight with a long-suffering smile. "Stay…?" Nar asked Rick as Garth and Robbie said their farewells. She held both his hands in hers and pulled him close. "Always," Rick answered, kissing her again even though they were not near a mistletoe. Nar was thankful and felt her heart swell again with love--for Rosie, for Richard and Lee and all her dear friends. But most of all for the father of her child, her true love. And he was right here, in her arms. And he wasn't going anywhere.
imagine everyone getting kinda tipsy one evening around christmastime and rick kissing robbie under the mistletoe and robbie running away crying obnoxiously (real or fake crying idk it's up to u) and knocking levon over when he runs by even though levon's not even remotely in the way and then he spends the rest of the evening swishing mouthwash and glaring at rick while everyone else laughs at him
Imagine when rehearsing really hard pieces like something really moving like It Makes No Difference, and then Richard or someone looking at Rick and making kissy faces and mouth words like "I love you, baby".
