Making Plans || Scarlet/Keeva
Scarlet shook her head as Keeva joked back at her. That was what studio life was, and maybe she was just used to it by now. It seemed normal to be so tired that she wanted to sleep more than she wanted to sing some days. But that was okay. “That sounds about right. You deserve better.” She shrugged. “It seems like their priorities are elsewhere right now, and that’s a big problem.” She sipped at her coffee as she let Keeva talk. She could tell that this was something she just needed to say. And of course things only got more complicated if they wanted longer. Scarlet knew what the contract looked like. She’d signed one before. And the last thing that she wanted was for the band to owe the label a bunch of money while they’d gotten so screwed over. “You know, the contract can be bought out. Fallout Records needs a good pop artist, we have all these poppy ones, but no one really mainstream. Even Lux is kind of more in the indie scene than anything.” It came out almost casual, she tilted her head, trying to gauge the reaction. “If you’d be interested in being on a more indie label, we might be interested in having you.”
Keeva loved spending time in the studio in some sort of way, shape or form so she didn't have much to complain about when it came to getting down to business but she knew from the last time she lost her voice that she had to sometimes slow herself down and take breaks so she wouldn't overexert herself so she welcomed the time away. "And I could understand that if the record was at least still somewhere on their priority list but it doesn't feel like it is. And it's not fair. It's like we worked our asses off for the win and then that was all they wanted." Keeva prided herself in trying to stay as positive and uplifting as she could but she hadn't felt this powerless in a situation since her dad died and it brought this feeling of sadness and worry that she couldn't hide as well as she thought she could. But she did feel a bit better about it all once she finally had the chance to get it all out. And when Scarlet offered her some sort of solution to her problem, Keeva saw a bit of hope in it all. "You want to buy me out of my contract and sign me at Fallout Records? What would happen to the guys though? Or the rest of the team... I'd basically be completely starting over again, right?" She said, running a hand through her hair as she thought about it. "I mean, I'm interested. I'm very interested... But the thought of doing it all on my own is a little scary."
