The only person I ever want to be better than; is the person I was yesterday.
William Chapman (via wordsnquotes)
I feel like a tourist in my own life Standing idle and watching things go by Never gaining the courage needed to participate

Slowly growing out of this.
If you love a flower, don’t pick it up. Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love. So if you love a flower, let it be. Love is not about possession. Love is about appreciation.
Osho (via psych-facts)
Be strong, Not only to endure any pain or obstacles, But to be grateful for everything that is bestowed upon you, Cause if you’re strong enough, You can change the misfortune into a blessing, And if you’re not strong enough, Even a blessing can turn against you..

Take a shower, wash off the day. Drink a glass of water. Make the room dark. Lie down and close your eyes. Notice the silence. Notice your heart. Still beating. Still fighting. You made it, after all. You made it, another day. And you can make it one more. You’re doing just fine.

me I'm just done with the hype.
"Because, love is the air we breathe, the people we see , the realization that were all in unity . So you and me, and I and I We're the flower" - Willow Smith, Flowers
From White Guilt to White Grief
Any time we step outside of our reality and find that the world is not as we had thought, or as we expected, or as we had hoped, that experience is immediately disconcerting. We feel naked, exposed, vulnerable, naive, silly, complicit, uninformed and sometimes when we step back into our own perspective, we feel guilty.
I love all of my friends. I understand that sometimes when I talk about race it makes you feel guilty. You feel guilty not because you are white, but because you are safe. I ask that you would think of that uncomfortable semi-culpable feeling not as guilt but as grief. Grief that you did not know until now. Grief that you were not told until now. Grief that someone kept the truth from you until now. Grief that other people have been suffering under your nose all along. Grief that history was not equitable nor is society. Grief that America is not as it should or could be.
Mourn that grief. Sure it is uncomfortable but discomfort is what compels us to change. Then be comforted, and remember that you are in a great position to use your safety, your privilege and power to change your society. Don’t let the discomfort of guilt keep you from empathy. Rather let your grief at injustice inspire you to listen, and learn, and challenge our current reality until it looks more and more like our ideals, until we all live in safety.
This is beautiful. Had to share.
Failure defeats losers. Failure inspires winners.
