I was bathing when Piggy said something about how it was about to rain again. I dived in the water and Piggy seemed to get upset, so I splashed him with water again. This was hilarious, he was getting so flustered he pushed my head down into the water. After that we were looking at the sky, and I wondered where everybody was. Then Piggy told me about Jack’s party. I pretended not to care but Jack was stealing all of the kids. I suggested that we should go to the party and Piggy looked at me his face turning red. So I came up with the excuse “ to make sure nothing happens” at the party ( pg. 148). When we got there it was awkward until we all started laughing at Piggy. Jack allowed us some meat. He asked about who is going to be in his tribe and I was shocked. What did he mean his tribe, I thought I was supposed to be chief. I tried to explain that to Jack but it was no good, he was never going to listen to me. Piggy grabbed my attention and pulled me away before anything bad happened.

I got in the beach and I saw an eye catching uniform. I was looking at it and noticed it was a naval officer. I was so happy and surprised to see him at the same time. The officer said hey to me but I realized how bad my appearance was. I looked so filthy, but I said hey to him anyways. He asked if there was any adults and I pointed to all of the children and shook my head. The officer said he saw all of our smoke and asked “ what have you been doing? Having a war”. ( pg. 201). He had no idea what we have dealt with, but it sure felt like a war. He was looking at me weird then asked if anyone was dead. I told him yes but then I thought about it and said they aren’t here anymore. I tried to tell him about the order we have before everyone went crazy, but he just compared us to a tv show. I was tired of holding all of my emotions in and being the strong one, so I let them all out. Soon after all of the other kids joined me as I wept.

I just got out of the bathing pool and I was resting in some shade. Or at least I was before Piggy found me. I was observing him and I noticed his hair hasn’t changed. It was odd because everyone else’s hair was a lot longer. I didn’t think about it too long because he was telling me about something complicated. I was listing easier things to do but he obviously didn’t like them. I hate when he is being a nerd, he’s so boring. It’s also probably why nobody on the island can tolerate him but me, even I struggle with that sometimes. I smiled and Piggy thought I was trying to be friendly. He was an outsider because of how he was built. Piggy started saying random things about a sundial but he was getting on my nerves so I just told him to shut up . After that I went to join Maurice back in the water.

I was really confused on how to make this shelter work, when I noticed Jack was asking for water. I got out of my haze and gave him what he wanted. I lifted up a branch, to a shelter, looking for Simon and the whole thing fell down. I could tell he was sorry but I didn’t care, I was mad. We have been trying to do this forever and nothing is done. It doesn’t help when everyone runs away to do their own thing either. I wish these kids would just do as I say, it would make everything easier. I don’t even see the point in meetings anymore. No at takes it seriously, “ they’d work for five minutes, then wonder off or go hunting” (pg.51). Jack was saying something about hunting but it didn’t matter shelter was supposed to be our number one priority. We were arguing back and forth, but I was getting angry. If they would just focus for a little while, we could get everything done.

I was climbing down a rock all sweaty. I don’t really remember what happened but I saw something moving in the bushes. I was a little scared until a round boy approached me. He had glasses and he was very short; he looked like he was really nerdy. The boy started questioning if there was anyone else on the island and it made me think. Who else would be here with us? Is their even any grownups here? Then I saw a plane and I was curious. “What happened to it? Where it got to now?” (pg. 8). The round kid asked me for my name . I told him but I didn’t care enough to ask for his. I got up to walk towards the lagoon and I heard the boy breathing really heavy. He said it was because of his ass-mar, whatever that is. After showing me his glasses, he spotted food. I already expected him to go and some, so I just carried on walking to the lagoon.
