It's finally happening, everyone! I'm finally working on a new embroidery design! Hint: 🌿🪟

Here's a preview! I've just finished mapping out my colors and transferring the design onto my working fabric so I'll finally be stitching next! I'm also planning to incorporate some watercolor and beading techniques if everything goes to plan. Stay tuned 😘

I just came on after like a year bc I finally did a new TAD embroidery and I feel like this happened last time… when I came on you had just done/were doing a new one after a significant hiatus. WHY ARE WE ON THE SAME SCHEDULE?? Okay, I was going to ask though if you use instagram or anything for your embroideries? I’m hardly on tumblr these days but I find myself missing seeing your stuff!! Hello Zrivie!! That's so funny! We truly must be on the same wavelength! I've recently been listening to TAD for some comfort and it ended up giving me the inspirtation to start stiching again 💖 I've just finished getting my design prepped and transfered so I'll start work on it soon! I do have a Twitter account specifically for my embroideries (@kell_stitches) but I haven't been on Twitter a whole lot either. I should make an instagram, though! If I end up making a handle I'll be sure to pass it along 💖

I LOVE horror and the wild, it's my comfort album, in fact in all 3 TAD albums I thinks there's four tracks I don't love so can I just say I think you're AMAZING and your embroideries are STUNNING and I would 100% buy one if I could (how gorgeous in my reading room would one look???)

I feel like you'll snigger to hear I listened to Unwanted Animal 87 times in one Spotify wrapped...... in two months.

I can whole heartedly agree that TAD is my comfort band. There's not a bad day that can't be made better with their beautiful music!

Aww, thank you so much!! I'm so happy you find my little embroideries beautiful! I'm currently not selling any pieces, but if I ever decide to do another charity sale or take comissions, I'll definitely make posts about it here. That's certainly an impressive number, but Unwanted Animal is an absolute banger so I can totally understand why you would play it so much! TAD has been in my top 5 artists three years running and I intended to keep that up

Here we are, dear hearts, at the first truest anniversary of the release of The Horror and the Wild. An absolute masterpiece of an album that teaches us that we are capable of not only great fury and sadness, but beauty and kindness as well. I really looked into the meanings of flowers for this one, incorporating poppies, marigolds, and yarrow. Flowers that can represent anger and hurt, but also remembrance, passion, and healing. Anyway, here's my tribute to That Unwanted Animal by The Amazing Devil.

I know I told you before but you're legit a reason why I taught myself how to embroider so I can make things like this 😅

I just wanted to ask, do you use a cricut cutter for the letters? Cause I remember you said it's vinyl?

I bought some sheets recently for a bookbinding project and found that it's very hard to cut it nicely by hand but those machines are expensive 😅

And in answer to your question, yes I use iron-on vinyl and a cricut machine to do all my lettering. When the cricut machine cuts it, it's actually a very shallow cut that only goes through the vinyl itself and not the attached backing so that may be where the problem is. I know the machines are expensive and I was lucky enough to get one as a Christmas gift from my family.

Embroidering the lettering isn't impossible, just not my own prefered method since I'm usually stitched out by the time I get to that part. You could potentially try using a fabric marker or a fine sharpie to write it in by hand? I would suggest typing/writing out your line first on separate paper to make sure it's exactly the way you want it, then use some method of backlighting (like a sunny window or a tablet/computer screen) to trace the line directly onto the cloth of the piece. I hope that makes sense 😅
