not to immediately just talk more about mycroft and sherlock but

there’s something about the emphasis mycroft puts on that sentence, it’s not “i like your friends” as though he’s surprised sherlock has them or that he’s implying that those friends must find sherlock similarly exhausting because, well, he’s Sherlock Holmes, why wouldn’t they?

it’s “i like your friends,” it’s reassurance, in an awkward, roundabout older sibling way - suave, self-assured mycroft being genuine, within the parameters of the relationship they have now - it’s “your friends clearly like what they see in you” and “they’re different to us, and perhaps that’s good” and “just because something’s been broken here it’s not something inherently found in the way you’re built that’s broken it”. it’s “i’m glad you have somebody, little one, when we both know it hasn’t been (and can’t be) me.”

i’m overthinking mycroft in a really major way but as an older sibling……………. this exchange was Huge

Being in the Sherlock Holmes fandom is so funny to me. In other fandoms I see people arguing about characters skintone, hair style/colour, age, race, ect. Meanwhile, there are so many Sherlock Holmes adaptions and reimaginings out there where I can scroll and see Holmes as an asian woman, Holmes as a magical girl, Holmes as a Russian, Holmes as a fucking mouse/dog and Holmes as an anime character and just be like: yep... that's good.

I'm not falling for the "Sherlock and Mycroft hate each other" propaganda that some adaptations are trying to force on me and I am definitely not falling for the "Mycroft is a bad brother" propaganda

Manifesting them as healthy siblings and especially Mycroft as a supportive brother, ESPECIALLY in the topic of neurodivergency and understanding that being different doesn't mean being worse (ik a lot of people would put queerness here instead and tbh why not, I just personally think more about his neurodivergency than his queerness but both are important)

Second, let's take a look at his eyes

They are indeed big & adorable for a grown evil mastermind. These void orbs can suck in the living soul out of you. His brows can be simplified looking like an angry expression

His eyes are naturally brown colored, though it seems a bit more pleasant how they look completely lifeless when light is barely present. It gives more character for him too like how the manga version just made him look this unnerving.
