Lovely Rhythm - Chapter Twenty One

Chapter 21 Jeanne couldn't hold herself together and bursted into tears, she treated Graham like he was her own son. Graham hugged her as she rested on him, "I'm sorry, Aunt Jeanne. I'm sorry" he apologized until her crying turned to quiet sobs, "How ill are you?" "Very ill, Aunt Jeanne. My doctor says that I have to tell someone, and I did" Graham exhaled, "I'm getting treatment, so you don't have to worry about me" "I do have to worry about you. You're like my son. Why did you and Kelly grew apart? You love her" Jeanne said as she stopped herself from sobbing even more. Graham sighed, "I do love her and I don't think I am best for her. How are they? Kelly, and the baby? How is Cory with them?" he asks. Jeanne shook her head, "Why don't you ask them?" Graham laughed a bit, "No, I can't bring myself up to them. I know they're all happy without me" "You have matured, Graham. I'm proud of you, but don't have too much pride in yourself that you can get through what you're going through. Tell her you love her, I don't want my daughter crying over your coffin. Understand?" Graham nodded, "Once I have the courage, I will tell her everything" he promised. ■ ■ ■ ■ "Knock, knock" Cory said quietly as he knocked on the door frame. He saw Kelly sitting by the window, and his son laying in his crib sleeping soundly. "What's wrong?" Cory asks as he sat on the opposite chair of where she sat, "I miss him" she said as her voice breaks in every word, "He hasn't answered any of your calls or texts?" He asks. Kelly shook her head as she wiped her tears, "We were good, Cory. We were friends again, but after he worked with us. I've never heard from him again. No call or text. Not even a single e-mail" she complained. "I don't know what to tell you, Kelly" Cory said, "I don't know what to do. I mean, I love what we have. I love you being our son's dad and everything. I know you're finally with Kate. I just.." she stopped. "You just want to be with Graham again" He finished for her with a smile, "I've been in love with him, since the first moment I met him. And all of this really sucks right now" she groaned. Cory stood up from her seat and gave her a hug, "Kelly, you will find him. If you don't we'll find a better man for you" he promised, "You sound like Ashley" she pouted, "Should I be offended or flattered?" "Thank you" Kelly smiled, "Don't sweat it, c'mon people are coming soon to meet our pride and joy" Cory told as she got up and helped him. ■ ■ ■ ■ First round of guests came which was Kelly and Cory's closest friends and Jeanne. Everyone was in awe with Cade, and showered the parents with gifts and compliments. Gifts that towered over table side. Kate helped Kelly with desserts, "He's adorable, Kelly. Cade is half you and half Cory, it's crazy" She complimented, Kelly smiled, "Thanks, planning on making one of your own?" She teased. Kate's jaw dropped, "I-i'm not ready for that yet but it's great to know that he is" she told. "Relax, I'm teasing. He's a great dad" Kelly said. "I can see why many girls fell in love with him" Kate said as they both watched him, "Oh do name them!" Kelly said excitedly. "That girl, her hair up in a ponytail" Kate pointed as Kelly's eyes followed, "Don't look!" "You told me to!" She retaliated, "Well, she was hitting on Cory while we were on our date in the studio" Kate told, "She disgust me everytime" "Some slut of a guest I have, sorry I didn't know" Kelly apologized. The doorbell rang, "I thought that this was everyone?" Kate asked. "Well let's go see who the late-comer is" Kelly said as she and Kate answered the door. "Hi" the guest greeted. "W-what are you doing here?" Kelly asks.

Lovely Rhythm - Chapter Twenty

Chapter 20 It was Cade's first week with his parents and everything was going smoothly than they both had expected. They planned for everyone to meet their son today, since they're both well adjusted. Cory and Kelly decided they will be all in one room. Kelly wanted her baby to be in her sight from the moment her son cries or when she wakes up. Cory agreed because it made everything easier for them. Cade is a good boy, both of his parents are shocked because he was well-behaved, "Hey buddy, how are you?" Cory asks his son as he cradled him and seeing a little smile from him, "He smiled, Kelly!" He called but as soon as Kelly was by their side his smile wiped away. Kelly frowned, "Aw, I wanted to see him smile, too" He smiled again, "That's my boy" Kelly smiled as she kissed her son's forehead. "Mom is taking him for a walk today, so we can set up everything for the party" Kelly reminded as Cory began to undress his son for his bath, "What time is everyone coming tonight?" Cory asks as Kelly settled the baby bathtub on their bed, "Around five" they heard the doorbell ring and they knew it was Jeanne. Kelly went and opened the door, "Where's my grandson?" Jeanne asked excitedly, "Hi to you too, Mom" Kelly scoffed as she gave her mom a peck on the cheek for greeting, "Good to see you too, baby" she smiled. "He's with his Dad, taking a bath" she told. Cory finished up giving his son a bath and dressed him up nicely, "Buddy, you are clean as a whistle" he said as he carried him to his crib, "Is my grandson ready for me?" Jeanne asked as she peeked through the door. Cory smiled and hugged Jeanne, "He's ready for you. Bathe and fed and ready to take a stroll with Nana" Kelly gave her mother Cade's baby bag that should help them for the couple of hours they're going to be gone, "Thank you, Mom. We appreciate this a lot. Call us if there's a problem, okay?" Jeanne nodded, "You two get ready for your party, while we go out and get some sun" she told. ■ ■ ■ ■ Jeanne took his grandson for a stroll downtown. They went to the coffee shop, and they both listened to the local band playing jazz music. After an hour of sitting in the coffee shop, it was time for them to walk back to Kelly and Cory's place. Jeanne knew that Cade's parents misses their son already. "Alright," Jeanne sighed as she stood up from her seat, "Oh! Excuse me--" "Mrs. Taylor" he smiled then looked at the baby in the stroller by her, "Is this--" Jeanne nodded, "It's good to see you, Graham" she smiled as she walk herself and her grandson out. ■ ■ ■ ■ "We're back!" Jeanne called out as they came in, "Was he a good boy with his grandma today?" Kelly asked as she knelt down to see her son in the stroller and found him asleep, "He was great today. Behaved well" Jeanne smiled as she began to leave. "Mom? Where you going?" Kelly asks as she picked up her crying baby from the stroller, "To the hotel to meet your brother, we'll be here for the party" She lied, Jason had already called Kelly that he wasn't going to make it because of his job, "Okay" Kelly smiled. "Hey!" Cory greeted as he picked his son up from Kelly's arms, "Buddy, you are getting bigger and bigger everyday, aren't ya?" He baby talked and gave his son a kiss. Cory noticed Kelly's silence, "What's wrong?" He asked. "My mom just lied to me" Kelly told. ■ ■ ■ ■ Jeanne walked herself back to the coffee shop. "Thank you for coming back, it's good to see a familiar face once in a while" He smiled as he took his seat. "Graham, what is it that you needed us to talk about?" Jeanne asked. Graham sighed as he tried to find the right words to say, "I'm sick" he shed a tear.

Lovely Rhythm - Chapter Nineteen

Chapter 19 It was Graham and Kelly's last day of working together for Graham's album. "Graham, you're all set" Kelly said as she handed him the CD with all of the songs they've recorded together, "Thank you, Kelly. I couldn't have done this all without your help" he said as he gave her a quick hug. Kelly smiled awkwardly as the bump was barricading them from touching each other, "See you around, Graham" she said her goodbye, and so did he, "Take care of yourself, Kel" ■■■■ Kelly was cleaning her up her things in her office, and has been walking great amount of distances around the workplace. Cory had told her to stay home and rest but knowing Kelly she will be too stubborn to do so. As Kelly took her last trip from the facility room to her office, she immediately stopped, "Crap" she cursed as she felt her water break. "CORY!!!" She yelled. As soon as he heard Kelly's yell and sees the mother of his child waddling through the hallway, "Its time?" He asked as he helped her get to the car, "Fuck yeah its time! My water broke! I'm in labor!" "Okay, okay! Just breathe, inhale.. exhale.." he taught, "Damn it, Cory! I know how to breathe! Just get me to the hospital or this baby is going to be popping out of your car!" She said as her face turned red, and did her breathing exercises. "We're here! We're here!" Cory said, as he parked his car and grabbed a wheelchair and hollered out for a doctor to come with him. He helped Kelly get on the wheelchair as the nurses settled them into private room, "Be nice to her, she's going to be very moody. That's because of her hormones, one minute she's angry the next she says she loves you" the nurse advised. "Cory, I'm sorry I yelled at you.. but get this baby out of me!" Kelly said in change of her mood. Cory looked at the nurse, she wasn't kidding he thought. "You're almost there, you're contractions are ten minutes apart. You're going to be pushing this baby out real soon" the doctor informed then she asked for the pediatrician on call to be in the room and get everything ready when the baby arrives. ■■■■ "Breathe, Kelly. Breathe, almost there!" Cory squealed as Kelly gripped on his hand like a crab, "You be in my position, pushing out this baby!' She told him. "One more push, I see his head" The doctor informed. Kelly pushed one last time, and heard the sound of their baby cry, "Here is your little bundle of joy" the doctor handed the baby to Kelly and Cory, "Hi baby, I'm your mom and I love you so much" Kelly cried with tears of joy, "Hey little buddy, I'm your dad and I love you so much" Cory said as his eyes welled up with tears of joy as well. "We make one good looking baby, Kelly" Cory kissed their baby before the doctors took him for examination. "Get some rest, Kelly" he kissed her forehead as Kelly slept soundly. ■■■■ As Kelly began to open her eyes, she sees Cory holding their son, "Hey, my turn to hold out little miracle" she teased as Cory gently handed him over to his mother, "We still have to name him" Cory reminded. "I like the name Kensley and Clarence" Kelly said, "Clarence Kensley?" Cory asked as he was unsure of the name as he he said it, "I like Cade and Kennedy" he told. "How about Cade Kensley?" Kelly asked. Cory smiled, "I like it. Cade Kensley Clarkson-Churko" he said his son's full name with pride and joy. "Cade Kensley, I cannot wait for everyone to meet you, my handsome boy" Kelly smiled as her son cried a little whimper. Kelly rocked him gently, "We can do this, right? We'll be great parents to him, even if we don't love each other romantically?" Kelly asked for assurance. "We can do this, Kelly. I know we can, we make a great team" Cory assured as he was excited to raise his son. ■■■■ "Knock, knock. Nana is here" Jeanne said in a whisper as she found the exhausted parents asleep. She heard the cry of her brand new grandchild, but she never knew the gender. They wouldn't tell anyone, "Hi baby" she greeted the baby in his tiny little crib. Cade cried which woken both Kelly and Cory but Jeanne gladly picked up her grandchild and rocked him back to sleep, "What's the baby's name?" She whispered. "Cade Kensley" Kelly whispered back seeing a smile from her mother, "I have a grandson" Jeanne's eyes began to water as she watched her grandson in her arms, "He's beautiful" she said as her voice cracked, "Thank you, Mama" Kelly smiled as so did Cory.

Lovely Rhythm - Chapter Eighteen

Chapter 18

It has been a couple of months since Graham had talked to Kelly and her bump is clearly showing. Graham has been thinking of ways to make a proper apology to Kelly and everytime they get a chance to be alone Kelly would find an excuse to leave the room or he’ll chicken out. Graham wants to make it right with Kelly even if it takes starting over again and all he wants is to have a clean slate with Kelly.

“Kelly, I’ll see you later for lunch. Okay?” Graham overheard as Cory went the other way from where Kelly was. Graham thought she looked happy today, yet he wondered if he talks to her she won’t be happy anymore. He knows she’s angry at him but if he talks to her, where does he start?

Graham opened the door for Kelly, “Hey” he greeted shyly. “Hi, how are you?” Kelly asked nicely as she settled herself and began arranging the songs for Graham’s album. “I’m g-good, how about you? How’s the baby?” He asks. “I’m great and my baby is great” she smiled.

Graham had enough of the small talks they have in the beginning of every session because it was always the hi’s, hellos and how are you’s.

“Kelly” Graham grinned, “Yeah?” She answered looking at him with her eyes which distracted him, “You have the most beautiful eyes” he thought. “I have to tell you something” he said, “What is it?” She asked as she turned her chair towards him.

He exhaled, he finally has the audacity to make this apology to Kelly and this time he knows she’s listening to him, “I’m sorry for being immature about what I said when I found out you were pregnant. I’m sorry that I was too late to make everything right with you. Kelly, I’m so sorry that I let you down, as your best friend. I miss you so much Kelly that it’s killing me inside. I’m so sorry for everything” he said as tears began to well up his eyes.

Kelly knew he was serious because Graham never cries unless it’s important, “I forgive you, Graham” she took his hand and squeezed it, and smiled. Graham smiled from ear to ear, “I’m glad we’re friends again, Graham” Kelly said, “Friends” he said with bitterness in his heart, he didn’t want to be friends but he’s glad they’re okay.

“Kelly, lunch time. C’mon” Cory said as he stood by the door, Kelly turned around, “Okay. Where we going to?” She asked. Graham watched quietly as Cory helped Kelly with her coat. Kelly waved goodbye to Graham, “See you in a couple of hours, Graham” Kelly said.

“Does it take that long to have lunch?” Graham thought. He wasn’t going to wait for her for two hours, he was getting hungry and lunch sounded good to him.

The reason why Kelly and Cory needed two hours for lunch was they needed to go to Kelly’s OB-GYN for the baby.

“Hello Kelly, how is the baby doing?” The doctor asked, as Kelly settled herself on the examination table, “The baby’s okay. Heavy and pressing real good on my bladder” she told. “Still with the morning sickness?” The doctor asked.

Kelly nodded, “We’ll find out what the gender of the baby is today right?” Cory asked as his eyes showed excitement. The doctor nodded, “Cory, the baby has eleven fingers, poor kid” Kelly frowned as she counted the baby's fingers on the ultrasound.

Cory and the doctor couldn’t help but laughed, “Kelly, he doesn’t have eleven fingers” Kelly’s mouth dropped, “We’re having a baby boy?” She squealed as the doctor nodded, “Congratulations on the baby boy!” The doctor smiled and gave them a copy of the ultrasound.

Kelly and Cory went back to the studio with smiles on their faces that couldn’t be wiped off. Graham and Kate also heard the laughter from where they were and couldn’t help but peek out. They both saw Kelly and Cory.

Cory knelt down in front of Kelly, “Baby, I’m so happy we’ll be able to hold you in four months. Your mom and I are going to give you the perfect name. My baby boy, your mom and I cannot wait to see you” he gently kissed Kelly’s bump which made Kelly smile, “You’re going to be a great Dad, Cory” she told.

Cory stood up and took Kelly’s hands to hold, “And you’re going to be a great Mom, Kelly” he complimented as he kissed her forehead. “I’ll see you later, Cory. Hopefully, I’ll be done early tonight”

Graham quickly turned away and sat on the couch as he pretended to have been there all afternoon as he hears Kelly’s footsteps coming closer and closer to the room, “Hey how was your lunch?” Graham asked nonchalant.

Kelly couldn’t help to wipe the grin off her face, she faced him, “Graham, it was really great! Really great” Graham forced himself to smile, “I’m happy for you” he said.

Lovely Rhythm - Chapter Seventeen

Chapter 17 "My mom is going grocery shopping, among other things today while we're at work" Kelly said to Cory as they finished up breakfast Jeanne prepared for them. Cory nodded, "That's good, I guess. I was planning on going tonight before we go home" he told. Kelly chuckled, "Cory, my mother is going grocery shopping" "You make it sound like it's a bad thing, is it a bad thing?" Cory laughed, "Oh buddy, it is. She's my mother, I would know" Kelly said as they placed their plates in the sink and left for work. ■■■■ "I'm with your girlfriend, today" Kelly sighed, she didn't want to deal with any drama. She was hoping it would be an easy day but it wasn't. "I'm with your boyfriend, today" He scoffed, Graham was the last person he wanted to have to deal with. "Jason said we have a meeting today, after lunch" Cory informed as they went their separate ways. They wished each other good luck. ■■■■ Kelly went in the recording studio and no one was there, she was early that day. It will be easier for her to set everything up without feeling the tension from both Jill and Kate. All Kelly could imagine was the both girls was going to make her life hell throughout their session. "Kelly?" Kate asked as she saw the little blonde under the table, "What are you doing under there?" She asks. "Fixing the cables" she answered as she crawled back out the table and stood up. As she saw Kate she felt breakfast coming up her stomach for the second time, she rushed to the bathroom. Cory saw Kelly run and he knew right away to follow, morning sickness once again, but he didn't know Kate was behind them. Cory didn't even notice that he went to the women's bathroom, "Hey, you okay?" He asked as he saw Kelly throwing up, "I so want to punch you" as she threw up again, Cory gently rubbed her back, "Six more months, Kelly" he said. "Everything okay?" Kate finally asked as she peeked in the bathroom stall. Kelly nodded, "Morning sickness" she groaned as Cory helped her up, "Do you need anything?" He asked Kelly as he wiped the corners of her mouth which made Kate look away, "Food, this baby is eating it or I'm throwing it up" Cory kissed the side of her forehead and Kelly's stomach, "Be nice to your, Mom" he whispered, "I get in trouble when you make her mad, not you. Keep eating the food and don't make her throw up, okay?" he reminded as he left Kelly and Kate alone. Kelly and Kate made their way back to the studio,"Are you sure you should be working if you're throwing up so much?" She asked. Kelly shrugged, "My mom said it's normal to have morning sickness that means the baby is healthy so we're thankful for that" she smiled. Jill was already waiting for them in the recording studio, "I hear you're pregnant" she said sternly as she crossed her arm, "Jill" Kate said to stop her best friend from saying anything else. Kelly chuckled, "Kate, it's okay. I know what exactly she's going to say.. that I'm a bitch, whore or whatever you want to call me. But I'm here to work on your album and make sure you're satisfied with all the hard work we go through. Please, I know Kate's mad at me and I know you are too but for the love of God, drama is the last thing I want" Jill bit her tongue and felt bad because she was putting herself in the situation of others, "Let's get to work then" Kelly said. ■■■■ "Cory, how's Kelly?" Graham asked quietly, hopefully it will be enough for Cory to hear. "Why don't you ask her yourself?" Cory asked as he began to set up everything for the recording session. "She hates me" He replied. "Listen, I don't want to have to talk to you about Kelly and I'm sure you that she told you about that. Be professional, Graham. I know as much as you want to punch me in the face for impregnating your best friend, you won't because you love Kelly" Cory reminded him. Cory was right Graham wanted to punch Cory because he got to Kelly first before he did and everything was first with Cory. First time making love and first time being pregnant with him. Graham wanted to punch him because he was envious of him. Graham tightened his jaw, "I'm sorry" ■■■■ Jason called both Kelly and Cory to his office, "There are rumors that Kelly is pregnant and you are the father, Cory" Kelly nodded, "It's true, I'm pregnant and Cory is the father" she confessed. "Is this going to be troubling your work? That is all in concerned about professionally, of course" Jason told. Both of them negated, "Good. Then as your friend, I congratulate you both" he smiled.

Lovely Rhythm - Chapter Sixteen

Chapter 16 Cory and Kelly had work the day Kelly's mother and brother were coming into town, they both decided to come in, so they don't have to think about what's going to happen when they get home, "Tell Jason, we're talking a half-day today" Kelly reminded as she made her way to her office. Cory obliged. Kelly groaned as she saw a few papers laying on her desk and she still needs to work on Graham's album, the man she doesn't want to deal with at all. Graham came in her office, "Kelly, I'm s--" Kelly rolled her eyes at him, "Save it. Remember how I told you before..That if you want to say or ask anything it has to be about work?" She snarked. Graham nodded, "Well I'm bringing it back, don't talk to be about my life. My life with my baby, and my life with Cory. Understand?" "But I thought that was because we fought" Graham said. Kelly crossed her arms and stood from her seat, "That was before I thought you meant your apology. I'm done with you Graham, done. Over. I mean it" Graham grabbed her arm lightly to hold her back, "Kelly, you don't mean this. Do you? It's just hormones right?" He chuckled nervously. Kelly mocked his laugh, "No Graham, this. Whatever we had or could have in the future is all over. Get that in your head" Graham shook his head, "I don't believe this" "If there's anything you need about work there's nothing I have for you. I'm asking you nicely, get the hell out of my office!" She yelled. ■■■■ Graham punched the wall in front of him, "What the hell is wrong with me?" He thought as he saw his knuckles started to bleed. He called Cory, "Can we talk, please?" Cory sighed, "I'm sorry, now is not the time. Kelly's pissed. I don't like the mother of my child pissed because I deal with it. My baby has to deal with the stress. You don't. Learn to prioritize Graham" Graham quietly sat on the bench near the lobby, "What's with the long face?" Kate asked as she sat next to him. "Why aren't you pouting?" Graham asked her. Kate shook his head, "I'm being mature. Maybe you should too, and you yelled at a pregnant woman who happened to be your best friend" she said coldly. "You broke up with your boyfriend. Don't think I didn't hear the yelling from the other side of the door" Graham retaliated. Kate sighed, "At least we ended things right and I got answers I needed but you didn't. You chose to yell and be angry. I may not know you, but you have to learn to listen to other people before you make assumptions. Cory listens, sincerely" Kate remarked. ■■■■ "Cory! Get the door!" Kelly yelled from her room as she made her way to the living room. Cory answered the door and found an older woman and a man, "Is Kelly here?" The man asked in a deep voice. Cory gulped, "She's in the ki-- I mean.. living r-room" he stuttered as he opened the door wider. "You must be my daughter's roommate, I'm Jeanne, her mother" the nice lady shook his hand and Cory gladly picked up her baggage, "I'm Cory Churko, Mrs--" he remembered that Kelly's parents was divorced and her mother remarried and he has no clue what to call Kelly's mom. "Taylor" Jason answered for him, "Kelly!" he yelled as he settled his baggage by the door. Jason yelled once more and he finally found his baby sister waiting for him, "Hey Jace!" She welcomed him with a hug, "I've missed you! Where's mom?" she asks. "Over there with your pretty boy roommate, she's interrogating him" he told. Kelly blushed to a shade of tomato red, "Crap" she cursed under her breath as she rushed to welcome her mother, "Mama!" She cheered as she hugged her mother, "You're pregnant, Kelly" Jeanne told her daughter. Kelly nodded as she sobbed quietly, "I'm sorry, Mama" she apologized as she faced her mother. Cory watched their encounter and tried to engage with them, "Sorry to interrupt but dinner's ready" he said politely as he pulled a chair for Kelly to sit and Jeanne was watching their every move. "Cory, are you going to marry my daughter?" Jeanne asked sternly, "Mom!" Kelly called as she groaned, "Ma'am, I'm not marrying your daughter but I'm going to love and support our child unconditionally" Cory promised. Kelly mouthed an apology to Cory, "Mom, we've talked about what we're going to do. We're going to be great parents to our baby and that's it" Kelly informed. Jeanne nodded, "I understand" Kelly spit out her drink making her cough a little, she was surprised at her mother's remark, "Um.. T-thank you, Mom" she smiled. "But if you hurt my baby sister and break your promise about my future niece or nephew--" Cory stopped him, "You'll break my face and every bone in my body" he continued for him. "I like him already" Jason said. Kelly sighed of relief, everything was going better than they both planned. "What's wrong with my mother?" Kelly asked quietly as she and Cory both started washing the dishes, Cory shrugged, "I'm scared of your mother.
